I'm amazed to see the Thunderdome; we ran MSCA and Alfa Club events on in when it was active including a couple of events using the combined road and banked circuits like the Touring Cars did. That was amazing but the track surface on the 'dome just got way to rough in the end because when they built it the soil under the track wasn't compacted enough and with regular use it started to subside. Great to see again though, lots of memories there.
It’s used more for events now, the surface is all cracked. Such a shame but I’d imagine the up keep cost a lot. Having the chance to drive on it was very special
