@@HowGoodGolf Thank you for your reply. T200 did not feel good or were forgiving. Went got fitted. Fitter convinced me I should go with Mizuno 223, not 245. Did not receive them yet. Now your opinion has me scared. Purchased 243, waiting on them. Did the fitter convince me? I do not know
Mizuno are the best iron manufacturer for me. Perfect blend of style, performance, feel and simplicity. I've tried a lot of different brands but I can't see me playing anything else.
Lefty here. Just got fit for the 245’s. Saw a lot of good numbers on the simulator. Can’t wait to see how they do on actual grass. Love my MP20’s and will hold on to them.
Never use Mizuno irons before, but just got fitted to 243 set. Tried all brands but like everyone says “Nothing feels like Mizuno”. Not just the feeling is amazing, but also the numbers and stats. During practice at the range, the guys near me often ask me what irons do I use cuz they hear the sound of the strike and they love it 😂😂😂
Ordered the 245 days ago after doing a fitting to replace my 9 year old JPX 850s. Incredible clubs to look at and hit with my dispersion reducing and distance improving. What a result! This video only further cements my thoughts 😊 Can't wait to take them out on the course 😍
I just upgraded from old Callaway Diablo Forged irons to some second hand 225s with X100 shafts and i love them. I play an 18 handicap but im a decent ball striker. I'm just no good off the tee. These irons have already forced me to focus more and improve on my swing accuracy and they offer a fair amount of forgiveness. Love the feel of these irons when hit off the center.
I have the p225's which are almost identical to the 45's. I hit several clubs before deciding on the 225's. They are forgiving, fairly long and you can work the ball. I play to about a 9, am a decent iron player - bad off the tee. They are beautiful and certainly look like a blade. Once I tested the 225's, I got fitted right away as they were far and away the best clubs for me. These will be in my bag for a long time.
I would say the changes in the 221 to 241 are minimal due to what it is, the changes in the 223 to 243 are solidly incremental but the changes from the 225 to 245 have been the most significant and will get the golfers who weren’t interested in a hollow club interested (myself included). I play the 223’s now and I am 62 and still playing the tips (up to 6900), driver average 270 sometimes still get 300 but not like before. But I am strongly considering the 245 for my next 5 year set of irons. I’m just having to think it through because it will probably cause me to change wedges for gapping as well.
Just been fitted into the 245 today , 17 handicap . Went looking at the hot metals & titleist t200 but unexpectedly hit these consistently better , the stronger lofted bigger soles didn’t suit my swing . Do not be afraid to try these irons ( I don’t want to play until they arrive )
I was fitted and purchased the 225’s last spring. I did have them delofted back down to “standard” but I truly think those are a blend of the 243 and 245 like you stated. Think a blend of 245 3-6 and 243 of 7-P would just be unbelievable!
Recently got fitted for these clubs in a combo set ! Mizuno 241 for PW to 7 & 245 for 6 to 4, these clubs just feel so good. There is a high chance they are coming in the bag 😂
Had the 2021 P770s great clubs but not for me. Just got fit and received the new Mizuno 245s. Wow! Amazing clubs, distance and forgiveness is unmatched.
Have just been fitted for the 245s and it was between these and the PING i525s found the 245s had just a bit more forgiveness and agree they look amazing. Ive never really thought of Mizunos before but went into a fitting open minded and glad I did.
I was fit for the 225’s about 1 1/2 years ago. I just played a long difficult course with 5 par 3’s. I had 3 birds 2 pars and missed the two pars inches from birds. They are soft, copper underlay, long and best club I’ve ever played. I’m an 8 handicap been playing for 40+ years. Love em…245’s are too close to change….btw I subbed…
I tested the 243 and 245, ended up buying the 243s (arriving any day now). I liked the feel and sound of the 243 and was more consistent with dispersion. I actually preferred the blade-like look of the 245, but felt better hitting the 243. And I admit it: I was swayed by watching the video of the Mizuno forging process. I love that the 243 is fully forged, and I'm a little turned off by the hollow body construction of the 245. (Sensible or not, how we feel about the club does matter. It's a game of the brain as much as the body, right?)
Luke Donald has just put a set of 245's in his bag. I myself just took delivery of the previous model of 223's, saving £200 in the process v the new 243's.
241. Defenately. Uswed to play MP60, 69 and 4 back, when they came out. The MP-4 looked a lot chunkier than the 69s. And they were longer from heel to toe. At least what I remember.
Got fit for the 225’s a couple of years ago at the gone but not forgotten and I love them. Before the fitting I said I’m older and lost a little speed don’t have much practice time but I have good feel with iron so I was looking for a forged bat with good feel extra pop and good feel. The 225’s checked every box I can’t believe how forgiving they are
Great looking clubs. I think the 245s will appeal to a lot of decent golfers because they look like muscle back bladed irons but offer some good technology as well as sound, feel, etc. They are certainly high on my list of potential purchases and if they are good enough for Luke Donald, then they are good enough for me - I hope!
I have the MP20 HMB 5, 6 and 7 irons, then MP20 blades 8, 9 and PW the HMB's are the pretty similar to the 245's. Looking at changing to the 245's throughout the whole set for that little bit of extra help
Having listened to you video I too have been surprised by Mizuno who recently have made some very good irons. The draw back is you can’t mix and match as with others like Srixon. However as you said the 241 (blades) you have to be so accurate to get the perfect strike and any off centre hits are penalised. As also with the middle set you tried I believe the 245 which has less loft than the 243 which I think you said had 30 degrees. However the sound they made was so soft in all. If you played a lot and had a sound swing the blades would be fantastic for scoring. The sole of the other two look quite bulky and if hit from hard ground I think there might be a bit reaction with the ground. Other than that I think the sound of the club was sound it just depends on the standard of player and their ability to strike accurate shots which would depend on which model to go for. Great video and feedback by the way!
I love that the 245 looks like the 241. I am not nearly good enough to play a blade, but the 245 looks almost exactly like the 241 but is actually quite forgiving. The only issue I have them them is that they go a bit too far, even weakened 2*, I wish they came with the same lofts as the 241 or even the 243.
My first and only set ive ever played are my mizuno Mp30 irons. I absolutely love them especially when you middle one but i wouldn't mind upgrading them to something more modern to get some distance back. Id go 245 2iron, 243 in 3-6 and 7-pw in 241 and have the lofts tweaked accordingly. Hell id get driver, woods and wedges aswell. Just need a lotto win.😅
I'm currently gaming JPX 919 HMP's. As my game improves I seem to sail the well struck shots right over the green. I'm wondering if the 245's could be blended with the 243's in the shorter irons or maybe the 245's with the different tech. in the shorter irons already compensates for this. I really like the look of the 245's!
I bought the jpx hot metal a couple of years ago and I'm an instant Mizuno convert...I've gone for the driver and even the putter....the 245's look great but I totally get your point about being scared off because the look too bladey.... I'm off 16 at the moment with serious intentions to come down...Mizuno will help ...
So the 245 are basically my mp-20 HMBs. Love my mp20s. They still look great but I think there needs to be more upgrade in tech and design before I upgrade.
Alex, I have been playing 921 tours and have had some great rounds with them. I want something more forgiving in long irons. The 243 is what I think I want but the 245 is probably what I need but I was hitting the 7i 190 in the air and rollout to about 200. I don’t want to hit that far and it had more dispersion in distance. Why would a better player want such rollout and gapping difficulty? Would bending 2 degrees weak completely change this club as far as bounce and trajectory? I don’t really want a much higher flight overall. They feel good but stopping on greens seems like it may be difficult, no?
I’m a 20hcp and I fitted for the 243s I hit them much better than the 245 and preferred the ball flight. Any handicap that’s higher can hit these clubs if you can hit the face and swing speed good enough I got some nice numbers and didn’t struggle with forgiveness all this pushing players into those big irons it’s not always right
The 245's really appeal to me; I love the look of blades, but don't have the skill to use them consistently.. the 245's would give me the look I love, and the forgiveness I need, which is perfect. I'm going to get fitted for a set as soon as I can afford one
I think the 245’s have tonnes of bag appeal. Look like a blade but offer loads of distance and forgiveness. I think it’s perfect for anyone that might want to have the aspiration of being a better player, or even an older player that is used to gaming blades but has lost some distance.
I'm getting those 245's. But there's going to be a gapping problem. I do not want a 7 iron going 190. My usual is 165-175. I'm just looking at better forgiveness. Not massive yardage gain. I'd have to bend those clubs up atleast 3 degrees. Cool to see what the 240 series do. Thanks!!
Tried all the Mizuno iron models and was unimpressed. Went with PXG Gen 5 irons instead. Ping 525's would have been my second choice (just as good as PXG in my opinion) and Titleist T200's would have been third. I've gamed Mizuno Hot Metal irons for the past 3 years - it was time for a change.
You talk complete 💩 you complete 🔔🔚 , try a forged iron instead of budget rubbish then you will understand , your clearly a “mass” produced “trend” fan rather than a golfer , PXG summarises your golf 😂
Don’t think Mizuno makes a mistake of making the 245 similar to the 241, it is their ‘pro’ range which aesthetically look like players irons. They have the JPX range to cater for mid-high handicapper and more confident inspiring look. I do like the look of the 245, if I haven’t got a set of ping i525 last year already I would seriously consider these.
I tested the 243 and 245 last week. I found that the 245 never really gave me any benefit over the 243. But I was hitting the 243 like lasers! Honestly out of 20 shots, you could've thrown a blanket over them all. Hence, I've ordered 243s
I hit the 241 and 243. I noticed the feeling of the 243 was as good and possibly better than the 241. I didn't want another thick top line in the 245. Couldn't believe the Dispersion. Ordered also!
Mizuno IS THE STANDARD when it comes to forged irons. They are the premier irons in all of golf. I read a while ago, they asked the PGA tour professionals, what iron would you play if you were not paid by manufacturers to play their clubs? They responded mizuno more times than any other manufacturer.
What shafts did you throw in them? I got fitted for them also and threw in the KBS Tour 120S. Was a toss between the KBS and Modus, wish I went with the modus in terms of how freakin smooth it was, but numbers don't lie haha
@@HowGoodGolf No worries but that’s just kinda surprising. They have always been known for their irons but across all the platforms the products they currently manufacture will match up with anyone else in the industry from woods, balls, putters and balls.
why make the longer irons smaller form factor? You're swinging those pretty high speeds and it takes away forgiveness. Considering even pros will play split sets with more forgiving long irons, this seems odd. That 245 definitely looks like it would hit a much wider audience! I do love the looks of those as well, they are absolutely stunning!
The majority of people do the research these days, so they'll know that it's hollow body, I think they'll go for these because they look bladed with that hidden forgiveness.
@@smallraymond1 Watch the video before commenting. He is complaining that the 245s look too difficult to hit and people won't buy them because of that. What I am saying is there are plenty of clubs that look easy to hit and are easy to hit. If you are going to shell out the money for 245s is because you want something that looks and feels like a blade, but is more forgiving.
10.1 hdcp golfer here. Went for an iron fitting over the course of 3 days at my CC, I was interested in the titleist t-150 or callaway Apex Pro irons. T-150's were longer. However, disbursement was 15-20, mostly right. Apex Pro was accurate but lost distance. The fitter put the Mizuno Pro 245 in my hands, and my 1st thought was, "I can't hit these blades." To my surprise, I added 10 yards, and disbursement was 5-10yrds over 15 shots. Let's just say they are now in the bag and will stay there for a while. I went into the fitting not even thinking of Mizuno's much less the 245's.
Look at this! ME! ME! ME! Distance, Distance, Distance. You are not relating to the average golfer/customer, you are only talking to the top 5% of golfers. 'Everyone wants to know how far this 4 iron goes' - NO THEY DON'T, 90% of golfers shouldn't be carrying a 4 iron. Your presentation reflects the number of views, my best handicap was 2, now 71, playing off 6, but I wouldn't subscribe.
Im a 14 handicap at the moment. been playing just under 2 years. I got fitted for the 245's. 5-gw bent 2 degrees weaker. I was hitting the 7 iron carrying 185-190 on simulater. Club head speed was avg 91 had a few in the mid 90's with it. My issue is the short game chipping and feel shots where i have to take something off the club is where i struggle the most. Me personally i like the thinner clubs better i seem to hit them better than the really thick more so game improvement irons. Played 2 rounds so far with them and they feel amazing thru the turf
I think your comment is harsh and negative. If you look back in his videos he hit the cleveland halo full face 7i 200y which I think that's his max on any 7i? @howgoodgolf. My buddy has the 225's I borrowed his 9i stiff for fun hit as we were waiting to drive, hit it pure 160y with a draw.. my 9i goes 145 no draw. And the buttery feel and click noise it makes (hollow body) was a 100% a dopamine hit.
*I really think golfers should look at these irons right? What do you think?*
I went from 225s > 2023-T200s to the 245s now.LOVE how they look, feel and forgiveness is the same or better than 225/T200s for me (10hcp).

Please do a whole set gapping video of the 245 5 shots each show the dispersion circles all together to see if they are well gapped.
Hopefully they bring out the 245 in traditional lofts. (7i @ 34*). Think with added loft plus all the tech would make these clubs absolutely perfect.

I'm going for the 245 after gaming a blended set of 2021 T200 and T100S.....I'm a 14 handicap.
To make a combo 243/245 i7/i6 they just takes 1 degree off the 6 and the gapping are constant.

Wally 😂
Most PGA players would opt for Mizuno if they weren’t tied to Adidas crap - FACT
You talk complete 💩 you complete 🔔🔚 , try a forged iron instead of budget rubbish then you will understand , your clearly a “mass” produced “trend” fan rather than a golfer , PXG summarises your golf 😂
I play the 225 didn’t see or feel much difference but the 423 felt really good
Good job mate! It's an American mate, Phoenix, Arizona
I'm shocked you never tested Mizuno irons prior to 6 months ago. They are the best irons on the market imo
how does the 245 compare to the taylormade p790 irons
That’s a great idea 🙌🏼🙌🏼
it's the face and sole, i like blade because
it will cut thru grass and mud.
Where did you read this? Would like to read that article.
Got fitted for 245 outstanding irons ❤
What shafts did you throw in them? I got fitted for them also and threw in the KBS Tour 120S. Was a toss between the KBS and Modus, wish I went with the modus in terms of how freakin smooth it was, but numbers don't lie haha
I went with recoil graphite shafts as I have an average swing speed of 85 mph on irons and they are so easy to swing but launch is amazing
The 245 would be my choice - if only my swing was a bit more consistent. 🙂
4 iron with a 39 to 40 degree decent angle will struggle to hold the green, totaly over looked?
4 irons are never designed to hold a green
Had my Mizuno 245s for three rounds and already my scores are coming down
241 literally looked like a butter knife at address 😂😂😂 too scary for ne
I get that you are young but really just 6 months ago you hit your first set of Mizuno’s?
I’m 30 years of age, never used mizunos before then no, just had no interest up to now 🙌🏼
@@HowGoodGolf No worries but that’s just kinda surprising.
Taking plastic off golf clubs is the best feeling? You want to get out more...
Luke Donald games the 245 & he’s better than everyone on here. So it’s a no brainer. 245
Not one of these clubs reduces your handicap
Luke Donald is now gaming the full set of 245 👌🏽
He's a pro paid by mizuno
Bore off 😅@@edanzore
They must be good!
Players in the market for 245s want their irons to look like blades but need something more forgiving.
Was there a punchline or a moral to the story? I'm just curious where you're going with that
@@smallraymond1 Watch the video before commenting. He is complaining that the 245s look too difficult to hit and people won't buy them because of that. What I am saying is there are plenty of clubs that look easy to hit and are easy to hit. If you are going to shell out the money for 245s is because you want something that looks and feels like a blade, but is more forgiving.
@boganpainter1638 oh for sure. I agree, I think I misread your comment at first. I think I thought there was more you were trying to say.
*I really think golfers WILL NOT REALISE! This are beautiful though right?*
🤔
Just wondering why almost all people here are fitted with the 245?
You can’t spell premium iron without Mizuno
They’re all players irons.
You ask about them premium irons or not. There is not a club manufacturer who makes a better iron. Japanese make the best clubs and it shows.
Throw away the ego and get the most forgiving
😴😴
Is this the new pro 245 irons?
