  • Im soaping at 33% water.
    I mix my lye water to a 1:1 ratio.
    I have 258 grams to use, so I place 129 grams of banana into one container, and 129 grams of distilled water into the other container.
    Make your soap how your normally make it, and separate the batter evenly into the 2 containers.
    Im using crafting scissors to make a scraper tool.
    When using 20% cocoa butter, the smell does come through the finished cured bar.

    BRILLIANT idea with the playing cards! Several cards shaped and glued together gives me ideas!

      Thanks Jeanette, yes you might have some larger cards laying around also that will work. You can flip them to the side, and it might be enough to make a scraper

    If you mash two bananas and smear them on your body and rinse, you’ll learn just banana is the best and purest soap

    This soap looks great! a hint for putting in cocoa powder: if you push it through a mesh strainer to break up the lumps, it mixes in a lot more easily. :)

    Curious here, I've used cocoa powder recently and it migrated into my next layer of white frosting. So bummed. Have you experienced anything like this! My post is 2 yrs later, but I am investigating banana in soap and found your post. Many thanks for a great vid and all your information. Soap looks great.

    Looks beautiful! Did you add any fragrances ? How the soap will smell without any?
    Thank you!

    • @WildPlantanica
      @WildPlantanica  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. With the 20% cocoa butter it does have a cocoa smell, and it should last over cure time. I can smell the banana, but it will fade. No fragrances added.

    What's the shelf life of the soap with the banana? Does the banana go off? Looks beautiful btw

    • @WildPlantanica
      @WildPlantanica  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The banana will sponifiy like the fats do. It does not go bad, unless you have large chunks.

    I'm curious as to the benefits of putting a banana in your soap?

    • @WildPlantanica
      @WildPlantanica  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The skin seems to have more benefits, which I didn’t use. The sugars in the banana will create more bubbles in the bar. As far as other benefits I’m not sure if there are others.
