    I made your Calendula soap last weekend (1st time making soap). Couldn’t wait to try it so we tried even though it hasn’t finished curing and it’s so creamy. Even my husband passed comment on how much better his hands feel.
    I don’t think we’ll ever buy soap again!
    Thank you 😊

      That's fantastic! Handmade soap is SO much better than anything made industrially. We don't use anything but! I even make a solid dish soap that's replaced the dish soap we used to buy in the past: lovelygreens.com/homemade-dish-soap-recipe-zero-waste-home/

    I roast all the seeds from any pumpkin or winter squash on parchment with a tad of fine sea salt for snacking or grinding. I can’t waste that nutrition. Yum. 💖

    Thanks so much for all your sharing Tanya! I have this recipe printed out from your website because i want to try it when I have time to 'deal with' all the cooked pumpkin I'll have on hand when I do it! I grew for the first time three gorgeous pumpkins called Prince something...can't remember now what they're called! haha. If I bake them I need to be ready to make some soup and our big freezer has broken, when we replace it I'll be ready for all the leftovers. I've really been enjoying learning to make soap this year.

      @@Lovelygreens Yes yes that's it! haha, I can't wait to eat them. I planted three plants, they grew very well and produced lots of small fruits but I could see we were running out of warm days so pinched off all the small ones. Some rotted anyways but I ended up with one good size squash per plant. That's fine for first time. Love your videos Tanya! Gardening and Soaping!

      Putting soap in the oven causes soap to deepen and darken in color. It's a good method for most cp soap recipes, but I'd advise caution with those that contain sugar or honey since it can cause the soap to overheat.

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  ปีที่แล้ว

      Turn it on to 170F (75C) and then when you put the soap inside, turn the oven off and leave the door closed.

  • @alicesgistdiaries8466
    @alicesgistdiaries8466 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow amazing thank Tanya. This is new I never thought of putting soaps in the oven. So what temp do you pre heat the oven? Am so getting confused. Some shapers say put soap in fridge and now oven. My megabytes are failing me at this point 😂😂😂😂

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oven processing deepens/intensifies the color of the soap and cooling in the fridge lightens the color. That's the only reason to do it :) For oven processing, preheat to no hotter than 170⁰F (75⁰C)

    Any soap mold can be placed in the oven or only hard textured one? Can't they melt?😮
    And do I use the same oven I use to bake my food or different special for soaps

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Soap in the oven will not affect it in terms of being able to cook food. It's soap, not a toxic substance, and it isn't touching any part of the oven anyway. As for molds - if it's something that could melt, don't use it as a cold process soap mold. Chances are, it's a melt and pour mold that you won't be able to get your soap out of easily, anyway.

    Hello Just found your Soap Making studies on Google. I like the Pumpkin recipe with real pumpkin. Can you use other fruits and vegetables using the same process. Example: if you are using Avocado, is it also required to place the mold into an oven. Thanks

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  ปีที่แล้ว

      Some fruit and veg, yes. Avocado makes a lovely green soap initially, but it fades to a muted yellow over a few weeks/months. Carrots are great for yellow, but most veg, including beets, turn soap brown. For more ideas on naturally coloring soap, head here: lovelygreens.com/how-to-naturally-color-handmade-soap/
