Steppenwolf's condemnation of "The Pusher", it's so intense, he can't express hard enough, how much he hates the pusher. There are people, of course, who couldn't care less about the pusher, drugs kill, right? The pusher, though, is the guy who's out there trying to "push" the people into trying it so in hopes he can get them hooked, he'll even give you a sample for free, to see if you like it, after that, you have to pay. Steppenwolf has lots of really cool songs, "Rock Me", "Jupiter's Child", "Snowblind Friend", "Hey Lawdy Mama", "It's Never Too Late", "Ride With Me" and "Magic Carpet Ride". This was cool, maybe somewhere down the road you can try the longer version.
Steppenwolf was an American-Canadian rock band that was prominent from 1968 to 1972. The group was formed in late 1967 in Los Angeles by lead singer John Kay, keyboardist Goldy McJohn, and drummer Jerry Edmonton, all formerly of the Canadian band the Sparrows.
“You know, I’ve seen a lot of people walking round with tombstones in their eyes but the pusher don’t care ah, if you live or die”….still relevant today especially after watching Dopesick about the OxyContin mess.

Steppenwolf was a Canadian-American rock band from 1968 to 1972. Their biggest hits were "Born To Be Wild", "Magic Carpet Ride" & "Rock Me". Everyone smokes pot in the late 60's and early 70's and this song was designed to be listened laying on the carpet after smoking. But weed was different back then. This new hybrid smoke is so strong it is almost toxic. This period gets a bad rap. We just wanted to enjoy life before we jumped on the career/job train we all knew was coming. Steppenwolf does some great stuff. 'dont step on the grass sam' is genius both musically and in presentation. You have to check it out!
Iron Butterfly BALL is an album with this guitar sound . Check it out!
Thanks for the memories guys! I saw Steppenwolf in Toronto (1969) and I'm certain they played this...... but.....with all the doobies being passed around, I may have missed it :-(
😂
Great song choice, so much meaning.. Did u switch chairs? it through me off. lol
This rhymes.... I want to Smoke a Bowl with Patiko! Smooth Dude for sure!
Wow! This is really good! I've never heard this one before! Thank you for the intro and reaction!!✌
😎
I remember back then being "Scared straight" by Steppenwolf . Well, not entirely. I heard, " Weed good" and everything else " Bad". Good advice 👍
Had the album, actually my room mate had it
"Do You Know What I Mean" by Lee Michaels
Written by Hoyt Axton, a primarily country writer.
The lyrics are mint: "Pusher" = "Satan".
You liked the pusher listen to Magic Carpet Ride. That is super trippy. Highly recommend.
While first hearing this stoned way back when, could swear there was a school of whales performing in this. It was a trip but???. Anybody else, always been curious?
Ride With Me by Steppenwolf is another good one.
If you like this sound, give a listen to their song Monster.
Gotta do"Monster"by Stepping Wolf you will enjoy thanks 😎
Sorry, I'm back because I just finished the rest of your reaction video, you said this song was more your vibe, then, out of the ones I mentioned in my last comment, I believe you'll probably like "It's Never Too Late" or "Snowblind Friend", they're both kinda on a different level of a cool vibe, they both have meaning to them as well.
Then you guys are in for a treat. Check out, Jupiter's Child, Screaming Night Hog, and Rock me Baby all night long🙂How is Steppenwolf, not in the Hall of Fame?
Snow blind friend would be a great follow up to this.
Must play Curtis mayfield the pusherman and shaft and superbly..great music
I can't think of a song that literally feels dirty like this one. Like go wash your hands/take a shower kind of a feeling. It's palpable.
My favorite by them. Hope you guys are doing well 🤗
Siete i migliori Bro action....
I want your shirt, Patiko!! 🔥❤🔥
If you want to hear another song by Steppenwolf that's VERY relatable to today, check out The Ostrich!
They do a great song called “Don’t Step On The Grass Sam” You gotta do it sometime!! The vocals of John Kay ❤️🎤❤️🎼❤️ “Hey Lawdy Mama” or “Magic Carpet Ride” are great too!!
Magic Carpet Ride next please 🙏🏻💗😍
Ohhh, well it looks like you found it. Still need to check out Snowblind Friend....... Flyin' low, dyin' slow.
Great song
Here's one a bit "deferent" and I think you both will be pleasantly surprised. "Chris Cornell / Cat Stevens - Wild World - 10.6.2016 - LA, CA (SBD Multi - Cam) UPGRADE!" It breaks my heart to know that in anther 20 yrs. some younger artist won't be able to bring a 70yr. old Chris Cornell on stage and say, "It's good to have him back." RIP: Chris U R Missed💔🤘🔥
Magic carpet ride!!
Check out Steppenwolf's "Magic Carrpet Ride" next. It reached No. 3 on the U.S. pop charts.
Beatifull 😎👌
Pink Floyd, "Careful With That Axe Eugene". Live version off the album "Ummagumma". Earlier Floyd!. PEACE.

R E Q U E S T : "Trouble Coming Everyday" Mothers of Invention with Frank Zappa, from th Freak Out album 1966
❤❤❤❤❤
Everyone smokes pot in the late 60's and early 70's and this song was designed to be listened laying on the carpet after smoking. But weed was different back then. This new hybrid smoke is so strong it is almost toxic. This period gets a bad rap. We just wanted to enjoy life before we jumped on the career/job train we all knew was coming. So we grew up and went on with our lives.
If you like this sound, I think you'd really like a song called "Ballad Of The Hip Death Goddess" by Ultimate Spinach
