"Life on mars ?" is another masterpiece, beautiful music... David Bowie was such a genius. We miss him ❤ Thanks for your beautiful reaction, I love the way you listen to the music.
This song was used in the movie "The Martian". I was 13 years old when it was released (1972) and never remembered hearing it before I saw the movie a few years ago. I came straight to TH-cam to hear the entire song. It was worth it.
Bowie is a genius! We used to get high and listen to this song and wish so hard to meet intergalactic visitors. (Then came the movie Independence Day.) Aladdin Sane, Ziggy Stardust, he was a chameleon and you really can't find a bad song. (You did Under Pressure) It's good to have you back.
Hi George ❤ love your reactions i listen every night to them ❤ queen for sure what a showman love him..and also a big fan of the beegees 👍 thanks for sharing David Bowie love all the Oldies ❤ hello 👋 to Patrick ❤
Bowie is indeed a genius. He used the same one octave stretch in his "Star-man" phrasing as was used in the "Some-where" from "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (Wizard of Oz). It was catchy in SOTR, and it was definitely catchy in Starman.
Bowie's,absolutely a musical genius. I live on an island called Tasmania, Australia. There is a world-renowned art museum here called .Mona .Well, the owner, David Walsh, is a Bowie fan .So he bided for the original hand-written lyrics from 1972 by Bowie himself for starman when they went up for auction. He ended up paying 339,000 for an A4 size sheet of paper. It's on display currently.
Bowie from this era was very special indeed, the combination of David Bowie writing the songs and Mick Ronson arranging the strings and playing lead guitar was pure musical genius. You should check out The Man Who Sold The World and Life On Mars two more Bowie bangers from this era.
Thanks, Bro! This is one of my favorites by David! musical genius... there's also a live version of this that it fun to see -- appreciate your reaction!
This is a great song from David Bowie, classic Bowie I would call it. He was such an iconic figure and a great musician, influenced so many other musicians too. So many great songs, 'The Man Who Sold The World', 'Heroes', 'Rebel Rebel', 'Changes', 'Life on Mars', and so many more. Cheers George, please pass on my very best wishes to Patrick. Good to see you've changed the Deep Purple hashtag description to David Bowie, hope my comment helped!
Sooo many good songs by Bowie - Moonage Daydream, Rebel Rebel, Changes, Modern Love, Young Americans etc. He put on a great show at Live Aid in 1985. Perhaps check that out too. Thanks George!
@@annemaclean6634 yes, thats a great performance, but i feel the vocalizations in thecstudio version are better. It could be that i heard the studio version 1st and just got very acclimated to it. But i do prefer it.
@@stevevasell429 We all like different versions, Steve. I think I prefer this live performance as Bowie is really enjoying himself and to me, it's an electrifying performance. All the best. 😊😊
Very cool. Love the emotion in this song. Creative genius! More famous songs (so many!) are: "Ziggy Stardust", "Life on Mars", "Suffragette City", "Changes", "Heroes", "Fame" w/ John Lennon singing backup, "Let's Dance" w/ SRV on guitar, "Under Pressure" w/ Queen. For some super hard rock Aerosmith (they just announced retirement), try "Nobody's Fault". Thanks!
So glad to see you again- I see that others have listed a great selection of songs David did but I would also add the song The Man Who Sold The World whom Nirvana did a awesome cover of David’s masterpiece- awesome song - I look forward to more reactions
hey, man, good to see you're back in business. Guess you're solo now, hope your bro's doing well. David Bowie was one of the most talented, and one of the very coolest, persons on Earth. (Watch any interview with him, he will make you fall in love with him!) But he did deserve the title of "Star," man....
George you are amazing. ❤ I freaking love your reactions. Sorry your brother isn't there for you. I have some of the best songs for you to check out. Just make a list with these songs 😊 ELP songs "Take a Pebble," "Still you turn me on," "Knife Edge," "Karn Evil 9," "Ces't la vie"...they have so many great songs. Some Heart songs "Go on Cry", "Cook with Fire", "Love Alive", "Sing Child", "Mistral Wind". They have so many, I could write all day.
Es imposible no emocionarse con El hombre de las estrellas...el gran David Bowie, Camaleón, Duke Blanco y diversos cambios en sus tremendas creaciones!! Un genio. Gracias por apreciarlo😊❤❤
Yeah, he did change a lot and even combined super powers with other artists sometimes. Bowie may have had more than a musical relationship with Mick Jagger (Rolling Stones lead singer) but I don’t know that for sure. Lol, I wasn’t in the room with them. I wasn’t born yet I don’t think. Anyway, Bowie had the kind of voice that reminds me of a stringed instrument. He played his vocal cords like he had a violin bow or something, it’s hard to explain. His voice is versatile and sexy. Although he is gone, his music and artistry is immortal and will hopefully inspire new generations of musicians!
Great to see you back again! Great choice and I love the fact that you're reacting to one of the most creative, talented, and cool Cat that has passed on too soon. I hope Patrick is all right.
George, this album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, is a masterpiece. It's a concept album about an alien coming down to earth to save the dying planet, forms a rock and roll band, and allows his ego to crash and burn the band. It's truly epic. From the album, you must hear Suffragette City and Rock and Roll Suicide. Also check out his song, Young Americans, from his R&B/Soul persona.
I'm so glad I checked here again. I've re-subscribed. I hadn't heard of seen anything for so long I thought you had finished. Now I'll have to check your latest reactions and get back up to date. Hope you are all well.✌🇬🇧
i cannot believe you have only reacted to 1 meatloaf song , when a lot of other artists have been many times. especially when you gave such a great reaction to " I Would Do Anything For Love"

My friend I really appreciate all the background you have listed here, really makes it much more interesting. Plus your visceral reactions are great.
Sure, you enjoy it. One more time David Bowie so special! A starman!
