Usually when he uploads a video with subtitles, they have '(in retrospect) in the title. Always bums be out having to watch a video without any, but I never have to wait long until he uploads with subtitles again.

I know you speak Cantonese, but can you do a dialect called Toishanese? This is old school Chinatown talk that you can only hear in NY, San Francisco, LA, Seattle and maybe Boston. It’s from first generation Chinese in the US back before 1950 when Chinese were coming from Toishan, about 100 miles from Guangzhou in the 1800s. You could probably learn that and blow some old-timers minds. They don’t speak that in HK, they’ll think your some hillbilly from the country side if you do! My parents speak it, so I can get understand that more than Cantonese, check it out!

These aren't the proper ones, the real ones can be adjusted to fit the needs and taste of the user (i.e. translated into a language he/she understands or able to be spoken to the blind). These just help people too lazy and/or thick in the head to click a single button.

i started learning Japanese on my own at the start of this year. just today started with a tutor for the first time, and wow its so much harder for me to output information to someone than it is to just do flashcards and letters in my head. in the best way possible i mean. i cant stop having these videos on in the background and if i ever get to a usable level of japanese i might have to then try Cantonese cause it sounds so beguiling.

Great video, you definitely got me leaning towards learning Korean. My entire family on my mothers side came from Korea, so I always wanted to learn but my mother didn't have the time when I was younger.
