I really enjoy your videos! They have helped me get into reloading and have a simpler understanding of this hobby. I recently got all the things I needed to start for myself! Make fun of me if you want but I figured that for my first time I should try to “mimic” a factory load that my gun likes. After doing this, the first load I loaded was a 3 shot group at 100yds that measured about 0.226 inches from center of the holes in the paper. Obviously I need to shoot more, but I was very excited about this especially since the ammo my gun likes shoots about 0.5-0.6 inch groups on a good day.
I’ve been pretty upset that Johnny’s reloading bench stopped making videos. Just found your channel today as I ordered the components to build my first custom bolt gun. It’s in 6 Dasher. Super excited. Equally as excited to find a channel that reminds me of Johnny’s.
@@RobsReloading Me too! I got addicted to watching him shoot groups. It was almost like watching a sport. 1st shot ok, 2nd shot good 3rd shot GOOD, 4th shot GOOOOOD, 5th shot absolute 💩. He tried so many bullets with so many calibers, when I’m working up a new load in a standard chambering I search his videos. 90% of the time he’s tried it.
Yeah it did. Maybe a slight difference in neck tension caused a little more pressure. I’ve seen it before in mine when the bullet seating is a little stickier than usual. A nylon brush to the inside of the necks seems to prevent those. Other than that the whole group was really consistent.
Talk with Eric Cortina about the 1 flyer it is possible there may be a fire control issue in your bolt shroud causing this problem but regardless your gun shoots great and I enjoy watching your videos
I do 10 shot groups with load development, and 30 round groups for confirmation. I'd be interested to see you try a full load workup sometime in your dasher.
@@Dave-cf2ng haha. 200 rounds is not a lot in the grand scheme of things. It’s finds me a load that preforms for the entirety of the barrel life, and I still have well over 2k left on a dasher barrel after I find the load.
At 1:37. you'll notice a clear difference in the report from all the others. I actually expected to see a higher SD due to a velocity difference with that shot but a 4.9 SD is very good!
No video this weekend? On another topic, I have some targets I had made that I think you may like for load testing. They have a really nice aim point and a place to record all the data for each group and are made out of thick paper. I could send you a couple to try out if you'd like.
You should look into taking an advanced class with Blake, the owner of Reloading All Day. Might just answer some questions about that flyer, sticky bolt lift, and simplify load development. I thought an old dog couldn't be taught new tricks and yet here I am. Shooting 30 shot strings in a large frame gas gun with SD's in the 8-10's, something I didn't think was possible.
That's way bigger than .8". Please be honest with your viewers, and yourself. That orange dot is a 1" dot. Not bad for hunting, but for a "precision" rifle, I'd be checking some things there.

@@nicsu2128 I agree Johnny is what got me into reloading! Wish he would resume to TH-cam!

I agree. I miss johnny's reloading also, and I was equally happy to find this channel.

Watched your video a couple times and your flyer sounded different when fired
I also noticed that...
Excellent! Looks great. Some folk might use this on deer. Look forward to 300 vid.

10 shot groups in development? Ever get past load development before you need a new barrel?

Since you have experience with both, do you prefer 6 dasher over 6 GT?

Have you done a seating depth test with this load?
Not bad but I still think 31 or 31.1 would be better.

@@lmbear the orange dot is 0.5” the group was measured with calipers at 0.8
why do people aiways assume the sticker is 1"?
