When you "run the stop sign" that is the fastest running you will ever do, because if you don't score, you're going to hear about it for the rest of the season.

To be fair. If anyone would ever criticize the base coaches, you must realize that they have to assume that the fielder is going to make a good throw. Otherwise it is still up to the player. Basically, only the players can roll the dice, because the coaches would be out of a job if they decided to make risky decisions too frequently.

@@doowahthunderclap4315 If you're talking about another angle that wasn't shown in this video, okay, but if you're talking about the second angle shown here, he's absolutely out.
Looking at it frame by frame, on the first angle, his foot doesn't appear to touch the plate until his upper body and his right hand have twisted back around to the ground, so his chest and right hand are both on the ground.
From the second angle, you can see the tag being applied to his backside while the right hand is still in the air and before his upper body is even starting to twist back towards the ground.
From those 2 angles, I'd say I'm at least 95% sure he should have been called out.

What many don't seem to be realizing is that 3rd base coach many times is screaming "GO HUSSLE GO ALL IN" but hes tossing up the "stop sign arms" this is to throw off the fielder since the fielder looks down at the play and it could make them hesitate on the play as they see a coach "holding up" a player ...when your set on throwing to the cuttoff and then see a player just running home and swap it up to throw home instead it can mess up the throw. Baseball is a pretty big mental sport and every trick even fake signs are used to try to get even a 1 second advantage ;)

Some of these holdups are about decorum. If you’re up by seven why chance it or run up the score. At the same time, players are, in theory, paid for there performance. Another run could mean a bigger payday.

In Baseball, when a player does this (runs through a stop sign) does the person who hit on that play get an RBI stat? Hoping a baseball fan who knows the sport can enlighten me.

Hitter still gets the RBI. Just cuz the coach tried to hold the runner up doesnt change anything

@@Tazer183 Cool thanks a ton. On Balks and Stolen home bases though, no one gets an RBI right?

That's not dirty. It was before the Posey Rule. He was trying to jar the ball loose which was a common strategy.

TheViolinist64 Watch any play at the plate before the Posey rule. I don't love A-Rod, but that's just good hard baseball.
