Hi Morning Pam and all of us Subbies. I found this great poetry book from 1901 at a thrift store, my son said and you are going to cut that up. I said yes! I showed him the closed book and said, that if I never opened this book, that beautiful handwriting would not have been seen, and like Pam says, I need to share and let it out into the Universe for all of my friends to appreciate. Hello Pam! That first paperclip with the sewing and the way you decorated it with book page is gorgeous. Ever since you started doing the paper clips more often (which I love), I find myself now saving long-wide scraps to use as paperclip bases. Literally looking at scraps and saying aloud, "Pam would save this" 😅

Edited: Regarding using "pretties" and how not using them leads to craft hoards... it's true.
I have "pretties" still from so long ago I cannot even remember how I got them. I have boxes and totes of these craft "pretties" and other assorted stuff i kept for crafts. My craft room (currently storage as we renovate) is 50% these boxes - that i've yet to sort, and only about 25% everything else (sorted to keep). (The rest is stuff we know we're gonna yard sale when weather permits or stuff we're currently hanging onto for a friend in the middle of a logistically complicated move lol)
Basically, my craft stuff had taken over. I couldn't make myself use those special pretties. I also couldn't grow my space, so... i had to thin out my stuff.
Of the yard sale stuff... a lot is "pretties" (and basics) of various types - yes, including some of my crafting. (Very eclectic crafter, i had to whittle my broad interests down to ones compatible and interchangeable in some way). There'll be quite a few delighted crafters in my area once all is said and done =D
The biggest change, thanks mostly to Pam... I'm USING these things now. I acknowledge that it's a "pretty", that it's "special" (even if only to me), and that I was truly honoring it by including it in what I am creating, instead of letting it rot away in a box.

Glad I only live in a 1 bedroom apartment and craft at my dining table. I made a 4 shelf storage unit (made with foam board and covered with rolls of wedding gift wrap) I am learning to hoard a bit now! LOL 😂😊

I’ve been organizing my supplies and scraps, and I have a much bigger pile of words and numbers than I thought. I love this idea of using them on paper clips. I’m making a journal of index card sized collages, so the paper clips will definitely come in handy.

More great ideas! I don’t think I have sewn altered paperclips yet either, but will definitely try it out. I bought a small inexpensive sewing machine for papercrafting, it doesn’t take up much room on my small work surface and it’s always handy.
