    A like and a sub would be better than 5 stars!
    I wrote down the craziest things that have happened in my Uber in order to support my channel. I think it's a pretty good book, but I'm a little bias. Get a copy at www.eddiepdoyle.com/shop/ and I will be eternally grateful.

    As an Uber driver myself most days I make less than $50 profit. It doesn't matter if I accept all the trips, only the worthwhile trips, or only the best trips. The rider abuse is absolutely insane. When riders trash the vehicle Uber doesn't always compensate us for it. Uber favors riders over drivers when incidents occur.

    $0.67 per mile x 100,000miles= $67,000.00 I have a very nice used "Cheap" Fusion Hybrid oil changes, tires, trans drain and fill, 40-50 MPG depending on the season. I set aside $100 per month for repairs. PS: I Cherry pick by time. In my market my wheels do NOT move for less that $12 per 30 minute trip. PSS: The car I use for Uber is 90% just for Uber. It's a business vehicle and at 150-200k miles it blows up I will buy another one for $15,000-17,500.

  • @mikehenkes
    @mikehenkes 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    For every 20,000 miles per year @ $0.67= $13,400. Here is the cost break down for a hybrid. $1700 gas, $250 tires ($1,000 every 50-60k miles/ Good to very Good Tires), $400 oil/ tire rotation ($100 every 5k miles/ Full Synthetic), $750 (other repairs) so I am still up $10,300 after estimated maintenance and repair costs per year. I agree with everything your saying. Ive been tracking every trip details since I started 3 years ago. I think on my best day it summed up to around $1.40 per mile. Yet after a $0.57 depreciation per mile. And $0.17 per mile in gas. I didn't make nearly as much as uber and Lyft would claim. not to mention a third of what you make should be set aside for maintenance expenses till a driver reaches 5 to 8 thousand saved

  • @trayel83
    @trayel83 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

    A decent idea for a video would be to show drivers how to look up their depreciation value on the IRS site. Then break down their cost by dividing the cost per gallon by the mpg shown on the dash. Also give a value to driver time vs the expected mileage of a driver working full time and or part time. It's hard to determine. But base it on an average of 25 to 40 miles per hour. With slow hours being that of 18 to 22 miles. I usually dive every min of a hour by $38. To track how much I should be paid per hour.

    Uber is no longer an option in Florida, the fare the rate are horrible especially during summer time, you make under a thousand dollars with 40 hours of driving, gas is about 150-200 dollars so if you make $900(if your car average 30-34mpg) after gas alone you left with 700, not counting other maintenances like tires, oil change, vehicle worn down, snacks, phone batteries,etc. plus immigrants with work permits willing to take anything uber throws at them, its not going well at all

But when I got there many riders were offering hundreds of dollars in cash on the spot for people to cancel their Uber ride and take them instead. One guy gave me $300 and another driver was given $1000, cash on the spot. For reference, taking somebody 6 hours across the state of Arizona pays just $220, not including the ~$100 in gas.

    Uber takes too much of the fare for themselves, drivers used to make 60-100k a year, a fair amount for the hours they put in and depreciation to their vehicles, and dealing with ill and sick passengers from hospitals and schools, now a driver makes about 16-30k per year, it is simply not worth it anymore with the hours you will have to put in , look for a real job with health benefits, or a company that actually appreciates you and raises the pay over the years, not decreases it like Uber has

      @@Junior.illinois The greed of Uber and Lyft is on another level. They can only remain profitable by stealing from their drivers. What this will eventually cause is new localized rideshare apps to pop up like Hum, Wridez, iDriver, Fare rides, etc. Uber is racing to move to driverless cars but the technology is not fully there even Waymo has issues getting around certain areas and have to be serviced after a certain amount of trips. Some drivers are doing privates rides and the ones left are the desperate accepting the crumbs so it’s a race to the bottom.
