    All of these photos are fantastic! I never tried Portra 800 but wow, I love the colors, and the orange sunset light looks gorgeous on her hair.

      Thank you Wilson! I could have used Portra 400 too and I guess the results would have been pretty similar. Still it's great to have a 800 speed variant! 😊👌

    This was such a fun shoot to do, hahaha. The scenery and light were perfect and we even managed to, for the most part, avoid the crowd. Awesome people and awesome photos. Too bad about the scan situation... But the idea to develop the issue into a video seems great. Great photos, Robin. It always inspires me to see what different people come up with the exact same situation. Marco's photographs are incredibly "his", hahaha. Good stuff.

    I like it when someone else is the cameraman! Its great to see how you interact with the model and seeing specifically how and where you're capturing the photo. Great job! Please do more videos like this!

      Thanks Marv! Yes and it makes the whole video a lot more dynamic. There will be more stuff like this coming in the future. 👍

    Compliments to all the photographers, great photos and I enjoyed this video, as always 😀 I really liked those where she didn't pose but put her hair out of the face or smiled candidly at a joke and you just clicked the shutter.

    Hey Robin, loves the video! It would be cool if you showed how you compose wide angle portraits... one lens to rule them all and all that!

    Turned out really good, Robin! I liked the building very much and the light. Looking forward to seeing the better scanned version! 🤗👍

    @the_real_sir_robin as I know you are reading your comments I would really like to see the video about how lab can influence the final photo. Also you can rescan them at home, don't you?

      Hello Andy, I am also interested to see a comparison of different labs and probably scanning at home. ☺️👌

    Trying to compare m6 and fm2. I noticed that the color from fm2 is colder. Was it due to the different camera? What do you think?

    Indeed the scans are pretty bad but what can be expected at this pricepoint ;-) did you overexpose Portra 800? I do and I think at ISO 200 the colors are just beautiful and creamy...

    • @therealsirrobin
      @therealsirrobin  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I shot it at 200. The colors are indeed awesome. 🙂

    What was your ISO speed on camera ? 800 ? Or 200? Thank you. Portra 800 works best at 100-200iso but 800 too even though it’s muddy .

    • @therealsirrobin
      @therealsirrobin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I mentioned it in the video that I metered for 200.

    Hi Sir, i'd prefer the darkroom store than Llab at Saigon. The better scan Sir

    And ? You like the 800 more than the 400?

    • @therealsirrobin
      @therealsirrobin  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Portra 800 is almost 50% more expensive and that's why I rather shoot 400!

    • @jctalk18
      @jctalk18 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@therealsirrobin if you shoot at 400, how do you metered it to get the creamy overexposed look ? I try metered it 200 , but it does not look as overexposed and creamy as yours.
