  • This week I am preparing for a deep dive into world eaters paintings so I decided to begin with some test bases themed around Khorne and world eaters.

    You said “miss my mustache” and I feared it was gone and that’s why you didn’t show your face.
    And…those are some great base ideas. Especially if you like dark, moody, bloody… Blood for the blood god!

    Great Work! Beautiful. I am doing a World Eaters army and the first base you did I Love. How would you mount the miniature's to that Bloody Base? Would love to see a video from some one who shows Models on the bases after. Thanks.

    • @MoustacheandMinis
      @MoustacheandMinis  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I myself will probably use the first base. Main thing about that one is that it should be quite simple to apply the stuff to the base with the model already on it or worst basw scenario by drilling a small hole and pinning it

    Awesome video man ! I am going to test out the cracked blood with the colors you recommended here in the comments.
    What color texture paint do you think that dark grey is is ? Will astrogranite work, or will I have to shade it down or go brighter with the highlights ?
    Also curious to see what a more yellow/desert colored base would come out with this method.

    • @MoustacheandMinis
      @MoustacheandMinis  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I personally use dark or black and drybrush up to brightest. And yes I think desert bases would work well if they are yellow enoigh if you go for a too orangey yellow blood might not look to good as it might be too close in tones

      @@MoustacheandMinis maybe I’ll hit my astrogranite with black Templar contrast first to get it to your starting point. Just tried that followed by a tyrant skull dry brush on a different base and it actually looks good. AK interactive combo of blood effects are lots of fun too, Viscera with the dark blood over it

    Great bases and video! Can you use plastic glue to stick the model onto the first base after you complete it like normal ? starting a world eaters army and never done basing before

    • @MoustacheandMinis
      @MoustacheandMinis  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope. If you make the bases seperately from the model plastic glue wont work. As plastic glue technically melts the plastic together. Superglue and pins might be the best way or doing this to the bases with the mini already attached

    • @Shadowsura
      @Shadowsura ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MoustacheandMinis Oh i see thank you, il give doing the bases a try with the minis on it and see how that works out, can i ask what paint you used for the dry brushing and did you use a gw black paint for the technical base color ?

    • @MoustacheandMinis
      @MoustacheandMinis  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used eshin grey and stormvermin fur for the drybrushing. The texture paint is some sandtextured hobby paint I got from a local store that cimes in big tubs but most texture paints behave similarly.
      The crackled paint is Mordant earth from GW

    • @MoustacheandMinis
      @MoustacheandMinis  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Three things might be the issue
      1. The texture paint is not mixed enough. Try shaking and stirringnit as it tends to seperate.
      2. It is applied to thin. The thicjer it is the bigger cracks you are suddosedly going to get.
      3. Heat issues. I have heard good things about using a hairdryer in these cravkle paints to speed up the drying and get them to crack more
