I love how this converted Angron looks, though as a World Eaters fan I'm obligated to suggest for anyone following the build to dye the resin red so it's a blood ocean for Khorn
I did toy with the idea of an ocean of blood, but blood is incredibly thick! It would just be a solid red blob and it would be so difficult to sell! I did however want a tonne of blood running down the rock face and bleeding into the ocean, but I just wasn't confident enough that I'd pull it off successfully...
Wow. Stumbled upon this video while scrolling through the homepage and boy am I happy I clicked on it. Beautiful paint job, by far the best Angron I've ever seen. Excellent work, I'm blown away by how awesome this mini looks. I definitely will look into using oils more often if they yield results even half as good as this on skin and metallics.
I could of added a bite more blood and gore, but let's just assume Angron took a wash before this scene. But thank you! Very glad you enjoyed the show. Let's see what we work on next!

this was very well done and i can tell as an artist myself, you really know what your doing when it comes to painting and the tools you use. dont listen to people saying "WHERE IS THE BLOOD AND RED" he doesnt need it. you made him with the idea of the blue and white of the world eaters at the time. very well done man!
This was the best video I've seen of its kind. Your smooth painting techniques and blends with some comedic humour thrown in too.. Subbed! Would love to see some more Primarch's
Truly love the techniques used on this model. Absolutely a fan of the way the skin looks with oils for shading and how the armour turned out. Will absolutely be trying something similar with my own red Angron.
Found this chanel today and love your work. I would love to see you kitbash primarchs that don’t have an official plastic model or continue remaking primarchs and make it a series.
Thank you! I am planning on doing more Primarchs, the next one I'd like to kitbash a new Primarch (one of the missing) and I do plan on doing an unreleased Primarch too!
Always pleasantly surprised when I see people using oils. Alizarin Crimson is such a beautiful red shade. I really love myself a pale skin Demon. Good job with the new face and spikes. He's looking less cartoony and very angry.
It is my absolute go to red! I've never had such an intense pigment to play with until I started using Alizarin Crimson. Oils are my go to for everything, they are incredible. Thank you for the comment! I greatly appreciate it.
i love the base angron model... but i feel like yours is much closer to the spirit of the character. i wish he had looked more scorpion-like, given khorne's attachment to that particular creature...
Angron needed a much bigger base! The one he came with is just too small! I'm glad you liked this base. I like that idea, he should of been more like a scorpion, it would work nicely.
Absolutely fantastic conversion and video. Great explanations as well, genuinely feel like I learned a lot from this. It’s a tragedy I hadn’t found this channel earlier in my painting journey!
Great build and paint job, learnt some new things to try with oils. Only negitive was didn't like the waves by the cliff, but rest of the sea was awesome 👍🏼👍🏼
Very impressive and informative on why you do certain things in certain way, not many miniature painters explain things the way you do. Also that custom head is amazing. The only flaw is those horns pointing backwards, with clean cuts. Was expecting you to glue sharp tips at some point.
Nice vid, love the editing, the oil trick is new for me i will test this strategy next time i paint! I paint small modells for a board game atm, is this technique viable on small models asweel? You got +1 sub, keep upp the good work m8!
Great video man, I appreciate how much work not only goes into the models but explaining your action in a coherent way must be a challenge within it's self! Keep up the good work Also which brushes do u use ? They seem alot stiffer than the army.painter ones I use
Thank you! It can be a challenge, but we get through! I use quite an array of brushes. I am working on a way/method of displaying and demonstrating the brushes and their capabilities.
Am i the only one sitting here feeling like there is a distinct lack of blood and red on this? You know, Angron, the Daemon Primarch of Khorne? I love the conversion work you did and i love the painting and the overall feel of the model. I am just... confused with some of the choices. He's not rocking the vivid red of Berserkers, he's ferally coiled and ready to leap out to attack someone... while staring out over an ocean.. and the ocean is not one of blood. It feels like Angron if he were Undivided rather than the chosen primarch of the blood good. He's also... criminally lacking in blood spatter. : P Either way, absolutely love your work. Hope you keep up the good effort and continue doing what you do!
Thank you @Kain! Well hopefully I can address some of these points because you make a good argument! With the colour of red, I really didn't want to over power the model in this colour, it's cliche of khorne and there are other ways to signify anger and rage without just showering the model in a red colour! (I blame GW for indoctrinating this in khorne!) I did think of painting the armour red, but if you look at any reference photos of Angron pre daemonhood, he's rocking that sweet brass and gold armour, head to toe! And I really enjoyed that look, as with the skin, I then didn't want the skin colour just to be purely red, because the major surface areas of this model are the armour and the skin... So putting two colours which are on the warmer side of tones just washes the model out. For this reason I wanted to introduce a more cooler colour to compensate alongside the warm brass colour of the armour. I could of gone for a more blue-ish skin but I settled on white, while then reintroducing those red subtle tones onto the skin. Even with some of the pre daemon references, angron was somewhat more plainly toned in his skin complexion. Plus if you look at the world Eaters original scheme, they rocked white and blue! So it's still not too far off from that era (which I prefer!) Khorne is much more than just anger, rage and ARRUUGHHH!!! Red! So I wanted to embody that this model, especially Khorne can be and is so much more than just those. For the base, the idea is to keep the theme for the other models made as he is part of an entire army after all! And the ocean, I did toy with the idea of a blood ocean, buuuuuuttt again, it's just... Red? There's no real reason for an entire ocean to be red, I did however want to streak a tonne of blood down the base and bleeding into the ocean! But I wasn't confident enough that I'd successfully pull it off. So as for the decision of the ocean, well when I'm angry, starring off into the ocean does help sooth the soul! The way I've done the pose is he's angry and raged that whatever he chased has got away, so he's left looking at the distance for what has just fled. (maybe another Primarch?) For the blood, I didn't want to distract from the model, I did want to string blood all over the hands but again I didn't want to distract too much into the gore. The king and star of the show is Angron himself! As with your comments of the chosen, Khorne may of chosen him but Angron certainly did not! So I really wanted to just capture that caged gladiator he once was. But I'm glad you enjoyed the show! I appreciate your comments alot!
@@NuHue Ah, so i understand your choices now, though i do have some things to point out. Keep in mind that I am not trying to dump on the model or you, their very high quallity. : p 1. The skin I am completely fine with as I do like the idea of him retaining the skin color of his former self, it helps sell that he was not always a daemon. 2. I did forget that his armor was all Brass while as a normal primarch, though i would also like to point out that he is not wearing his old armor, or if he is it has been affected by the warp. Perhaps if the brass color you used were more warm and reddish/brown in tone it would have aleviated my concerns. As yours seems to have come off as yellower than what he is normally depicted as wearing. 3. I do like the idea of the overlooking the ocean bit. Though that would indicate that his enemy used a boat or perhaps a transport aircraft. Either way, i feel like this ironically plays into the idea that Angron is a failure and not top dog. He could not conquer his homeworld, and here he could not catch any of his prey as they left. 4. This technically continues on from point 3. But considering that Angron cant just show up on any world, and the world has to be sufficiently screwed up, war torn, bloodied, and the veil between the material and warp must be thinned quite a bit he wouls most likely come out in the thick of it. The base suggests him having left the battlefield to chase, but not only that, how clean he is and the fact there are no corpses on the base suggest that he hasnt done anything since arriving on world. His prey all escaped and none were caught beforehand, he has not cristened his claws, maw, spikes, or axe with blood. He has clearly failed. 5. I am over analyzing all of this, while on my phone waiting to hop on the bus and head to work. You dont need to take me seriously, i just like to over analyze. Its just my personal opinion that models of this nature should pay homage to the clear metal head origins of khorne and the scene should look as though it would not be out of place on a metal album cover. Blood for the Blood God, Skulls for the Skull Throne, Maim, Kill, Burn! : p Thank you for replying to me, I appreciate it immensely even though i feel like im coming off as being too picky or rude. Hope your channel grows bigger man!

On the armor swapping out the mahogany for a sponged on turquoise verdigris base coat and then using your metal recipe is suuuuuch a nice verdigris recipe ngl. The sponging effect looks very similar to how actual verdigris specking looks to scale and its really quick to take just two colors like desaturating vallejo emerald and just adding in pretty large steps up for a highlight color like ice yellow because verdigris in real life has big steps up in color. Then the extra pin washing of the dark oil really helps sell the effect but honestly it’s not necessary.
I think the only thing that lets it down, for me, are the visible seams on the final reveal. The rest of the process is top notch, and it's a fantastic result
