That's a great section to fish, more and more fish have been lasting in the river over summer thanks to the cut of zero flow days from Chatfield. Glad you got a good one, thanks for watching!
Curious, any reason you decide to work downstream instead of upstream? Ive always been told going downstream like this spooks all the fish since they are looking your way. Thought clearly this works :)
Yes, generally it's best to fish going upstream. However, this day all the fish seemed to be below wherever I accessed and was forced to fish downstream. Thanks for watching!
Nice job! I've seen that bridge in a couple videos. What area of downtown us that? I'm from the Springs, I've been down there a couple times and can't seem to find it? I have yet to get a bite anywhere downtown South Platte but I keep tryin!👍
Personally - I'd rather drive 2 hrs to fish the Colorado river, even if I get skunked and then drive the 2 hrs back - I think I'd prefer that rather than fishing downtown which is 20 minutes away
Different strokes for different folks! We're just looking to highlights our home waters that are well used, but have little publicity. Thanks for watching
@@greggoldman893 The traffic on I70 is bad because you have more than 1M people (that's just Denver & Boulder) trying to take the only 2 lane road west of Evergreen to get away from the city - gezzzz
@@gmen1305 1M? Maybe 30 years ago! Add to the folks going west, people joy riding west then east for a few hours. Volume, weather, construction, slow moving vehicles, rubber nickers, crazy speed violators (75+)…amazing there isn’t more carnage
So on a video about fishing home waters you always have some clown who feels the need to spew what he would do?? Little tidbit for said clown, nobody cares go make a video of you driving and see if anyone watches it
GREAT! Nice to see a local guide not only fishing local but demonstrating technique and flies that are used.
Ive been riding down in that area alot lately. Thats so awesome to see the fish. Nice work !
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Inspired me to get out and do some fishing. Looking forward to your series.
Thanks for watching and best of luck on the water!
Love the video and stoked for this series, awesome stuff Xavier!
Looks like a sweet fishery!
Definitely a different vibe on the DSP, but it certainly is a fantastic fishery right at our feet! Thanks for watching
Could you expand on why you would not fish that ripple section you spoke about in the beginning with changing water temps? Thanks!
I caught a hog of a rainbow in Littleton South Palette on a red brassie, had to been at least 19-20 inches

Towards the REI
I have fished this river for years and years, there is no fish. Nothing. Every time I go, nothing, not even the hint of a bite.
Go try the outlet of chatfield where the platte begins there’s tons of trout, use a worm & be ready to set the hook they’re quick
Step your game up.
@bb-hr9dg ain't no fish
funny how he doesn't mention that that river is sewage...and you can't get the smell out of your nose

And this is why traffic oni70 is unbearable.
