Here's a harp guitar version of my old song «You & I» (Toi et moi). That's a song that I actually wrote just before getting this harp guitar. It was inspired by Stephen Bennett playing his harp guitar. I was trying to emulate the feel of his writing on harp guitar, but on my 6 string. I recently remembered that this tune was meant to be played on harp guitar and decided to work on it. It's a song I wrote for my wife, Annie. You can find a lot of symbolism in this tune about 2 people or duality, combination, completion, etc. The major chord versus it's minor relative (F@ and Amaj7), male female, etc. Of course it depicts our relation. This version show also evolution in that relation. Happy moments, moments of sensibility, as well as the ones that seems like chaos at times. You know, those very quick moments when everything climbs up so fast emotionally, leading into incertain periods. The clock of time at the end represents my wish to make this relation stand the test of time. The ending chord is a D maj9 #11 which contains the 2 chords together for obvious reason. Hope you dig it. The tuning is: harp, low to high: E, F#, A, C#, D, E Guitar, low to high: F#, A, D, G, B, E, w/partial capo on the 4 first strings 2nd fret.
I was 15 years old those times when it all began. Antoine's playing changed my life completely. After that all , I began a fingerstyle player, Something is going on with the earth. I feel this song like a new one
Feels like you probably could have played it for another half hour.... if you ever wanna release a version like that, I will gladly listen to it :) thanks for sharing the gift of your music with us.
I love how Antoine plays the melody starting at 0:34 with a particular bass melody on top of it then comes back to repeat the same melody at 0:49 but with different bass notes. That's a very cool change to the original song!
The outro to this song was always amazing but oh man I loved the reworked one in this version. Every time I see the harp guitar harmonics and percussive body work getting fused like that it makes me want to stand up and applaud.
No way.. I've actually learned this song some time ago and here you are adding something special to it. I love it and I love playing it. It must be one of my favourites. Thanks for sharing!
I listen to this track nearly every day. It always makes me smile and remember that there's still some beauty in the world. As a guitar player, I have the upmost respect for Antoine.
WHOA!!!!! I searched for the original one last night. This is one of my favorite pieces ever on the guitar. Thats crazy that the next day the 2.0 version is live! Thank you Antoine for sharing something so beautiful, the feeling transmitted through this is pure love. Im sure your wife never gets tired of her song.
Stephen will forever be one of the enduring composers for solo-guitar and harp...this rendition is such a soulful homage. Perfectly captured audio too. Can't imagine getting the harp dialed in that well is an easy feat.
Been listening to you for 12 years, saw you in Seattle first time, performed your music at a skilled nursing home, and have long used it as a meditative tool playing by myself, played it as lullabies to my kids, and want you to know the impact you've made. If I thought I had impacted somebody to that degree, I would always feel good about my work, and you should.
Mr.Antoine your the best your Amazing..i always listen your songs and kept in my phone ..i think i watched all your videos from youtube.i love all your songs...big fan from Mizoram.but may be this is the only i comment .
Beautiful. Definitely better on the harp guitar than the original 6 string version. Theres much more depth and range to the emotion, and the last chord is lovely.
you are the master man! maybe under rated. maybe over rated. but one thing is for sure, know that you are an inspiration, a legend in your own right. a master. i truly hope that your music reaches as many people as possible. maybe even for generations to come. please keep writing. please keep playing. your songs touch our souls and remind us what it is to be the nobility of humanity.
This is absolutely beautiful, Antoine. I looked this up on Spotify and was shocked I hadn't heard this song you recorded over 10 years ago in the time I've been listening to you. Please release this harp guitar version on other platforms!
Such a classic performance. It's so inviting though it was uploaded a year ago. This should be recommended by TH-cam. Worth listening and worth watching.
This is one of my favourite harp guitar pieces, Antoine. I have been listening to your 6 string and harp guitar versions of this song for years and I simply do not tire of it. Besides its high level of technical skill, it is probably your most melodic piece , in my opinion.
This is probably one a of the most beautiful song I heard and words I read. I beg you... Please, make a tab of this harp guitar version (or a tuto ?). That would be a gift of a lifetime. I'd pay all I can for that. Dear god, I love you so much. You've been my favourite guitarist and idol for nearly teen years now. This only song made me want to take back my guitar out of its case after 3 years of not playing. But since you only liked the comments that were posted 9 to 10 months ago, I really doubt this one gets to you.
Out of all the fingerstyle guitarist out there you are one of the few that I actually resonate with. I am a fingerstyle guitarist as well and tend to gravitate towards the mystical minors as the driving force and find you do as well with many of your songs but are able to mingle in the beauty of the majors as well and this song has become one of my favorites of yours since first hearing. Thanks for the majestic, Much love from Nashville
It's really cool to hear a new version of a already amazing song! The lower frequencies really compliment the song nicely ! Thank you for making great music Antoine!
what a work of art! one of my most favourite intimate tunes, in fact it depicts so well the feeling of duality, the speed changing, like two birds chasing each other. It's been like the best Christmas present this year, and it's crazy it has come from a person I haven't met in person :) although been your fan since the first trilogie video... you have no idea how deeply your music has given me hope and inner beauty I wish you and your wife a lovely Christmas!
So special and beautiful Antoine. Your description too made such a difference and made the song feel more meaningful too. I really enjoy your descriptions and hope to read more as I come across them. Keep it up and I wish you and Annie the best!
Antoine, this is my absolute favorite song by you. It makes me want to cry, and the ability to do that without putting in words is an incredible talent. You speak through those strings. Also, that harp guitar sounds absolutely incredible. THE LOW END
I absolutely love this. Love all the uploads Antoine, THANK YOU for all the amazing music I can listen to and learn. You’ve had a huge impact on my musical journey.

One of my favorite songs of all time! I remember discovering and listening to this tune all day on rainy summer-fall days of 2009...
The outro to this song was always amazing but oh man I loved the reworked one in this version. Every time I see the harp guitar harmonics and percussive body work getting fused like that it makes me want to stand up and applaud.

Hands down the most beautiful song I ever heard. Absolutely amazing.
listening to this music while star gazing would be so good
I have an awesome telescope.... will have to play this on laptop while looking at the stars for sure.
I came because of my love for the harp guitar. I realized that Jamie Dupuis also has very good competition on this great instrument.
Great song.

Beautiful. I see I’m not the only one who puts sharpie marks at the harmonic spots of the bass strings.😂
Tabarnak que ça peut être beau! Excellente composition, Antoine. :)
I like how you marked where the pinch-harmonic is on your bass strings.
wow... didn't even notice that till i read your comment. Very Observative!
Beautiful/Belle 🎶🎼🎵👍
The Aloe plant in the background is very symbolic of what this music does. It's so healing!
Thank you Mr. Dufour.
Definitely enjoyed this version. This is one of my favorite songs you play.

I've had an incredibly rough yeah, but you make it a little less painful with your music. Thank you.
It's still amazing to me that I can describe so many of your pieces as "hauntingly beautiful."

Beautiful song, and fantastic playing.
magnifico brano, così arioso e con l'ausilio della harp guitar diventa anche ricco di sfumature armoniche
That outro is gonna be stuck in my head for weeks

Bravo Antoine! Les arrangements sont superbes avec cette guitare. J'aime vraiment cette version.
