We were in the same boat in almost every way. In fact, I avoided RG and many 1/144 for a few years the 1.0 left such a bad taste in my mouth. This kit was an absolute treat and prompted me to grab 3 of the most recent RGs with ‘mg inspired’ inner frames. I just finished a Zeong, and I’m excited to see how sazabi and Nu stack up to this latest rx78 2.0. Very excited for RG shining gundam and I hope this means we get an RG Zaku 2.0.
It's amazing how much detail they were able to cram into such a small kit and have it still be perfectly stable I dare say no Master Grade kit has an Inner Frame as impressive, not even the RX-78-2 3.0 Also, you just KNOW that kit is gonna stay flexible and amazing, since it's not using polycaps. Perhaps after this, they'll finally do a RG GM!
everyone needs this new RG kit. probably one of those kits that you need to build for the appreciation of the engineering. got mine a few weeks back, and started building it the next day lol. it's a lovely piece that should set a new standard for RG kits.
We've come full circle. I've been watching you since i was into Bionicle as teenager, and after recently discovering Gundam as a hobby, here you are with a Gundam channel. I look forward to more of these. Keep up the great work Jang!
The year is 2014. I am obsessed with LEGO and have found myself watching Jang review the Creator Grand Emporium. The set is outside of my usual range of LEGO themes, but it’s really nice so I need it for my collection. The year is 2024. I’ve recently become obsessed with Gunpla and have unexpectedly found myself watching Jang review the RG RX 78-2 2.0. It’s not a HG G-Witch kit like the rest of what I’m interested in, but it’s the latest and greatest in Gunpla so I need it for my increasingly Sisyphean backlog.
It's absolutely crazy, I watched you when I was a kid for when hero factory was out and even before then. Finding out you have this channel will make me watch you now that I'm an adult :) much love jang ❤
I have built four RG Gundams, and they were all fun to build (if a little confusing due to their complexity), and the final results are really neat. I just wish they'd do more Zeon and/or grunt suits, because the primary coloured hero-suits get a bit repetitive for me. I bought the more unusual ones such as the Z'gok and Tallgeese. The RX-78 2.0 looks great, but seems like it's basically a tiny PGU, and having already built one of those, I don't feel the need to do it again, only smaller. I have a pretty big stack of unbuilt gunpla, so I don't need more. That is, not until they release a MG Kshatriya and Geara Zulu, or basically any PG that's not a rehash of a pre-existing kit.
if you’re liking this, I think you’d really enjoy the Narrative Ver. Ka. 1/100 which you like, still has a core block system, amazing mix of Nu and Unicorn.
I'm glad this showed up in my recommended. I love your Lego reviews, and it's great to hear your perspectives on Gunpla kits. At this point I think you've definitely graduated from being an amateur, and I personally think the English-speaking Gunpla community on TH-cam greatly benefits from a wider array of viewpoints.
I used to watch you for Lego reviews as a kid, now that I’m older and I started moving to gunpla I’m glad to see your videos pop back up for the same interests
If you wanna check out another RG any of the Impulse Gundams (Sword, Force, Destiny, Spec II, Blast Spec II) are an amazing build especially with the Core Splendor gimmick
Found out about this channel from your recent JANGBRICKS video. You might say it was "destiny" (don't worry! I'll see myself out), as I've just bought my second ever Gundam, and first ever RG. Wish me luck!!
Nice to have someone who cares about durability along with articulation! So many times I see reviews that go over how awesome a model is with little regard to how durable it is overall, unless it's a horrible mess of poorly toleranced parts. Might end up getting this one for my own collection down the road. Have you built any Astray gundams besides the PG red frame? Also, would you consider doing a review of it and/or your favorite astray model besides the PG?
my experience with rg has been a rollercoaster, first was the og rx-78-2, absolutely doo doo, then sazabi, pretty good bbut still a couple of loose parts, then unicorn, also good but the skirts fall off just like the rx78, but now with a bunch more moving parts. I'm looking forward to this 2.0
My first Gundam kit from Bandai, before this, i just buy cheap bootleg from China. I love the craft and engineering behind this Gundam. Its a Art worth to buy and have it.
Jang, i just found out you have a Gunpla/mech channel! I had no idea. As someone getting back into Gunpla after many years of Lego, I'd love if you made a video going over the tools you use. For example, is it really worth spending $70 for nippers, or is a $20 pair good enough. Things like that.
Thanks for the review! I really want to get the rg 2.0 after seing some reviews but sadly missed the preorder window over here. T_T On a different note: Have you seen/are you at all interested in reviewing one of the motor nuclear mecha kits? Im currently building one and Id be curious to hear your thoughs on them since the quality of some third party companies are getting really good. ^^
How are the hands on this kit? That was my biggest disappointment with the 1.0. Feel like I can't touch it without spending 30 minutes trying to get the hand around the weapon again.
I just finished building the frame portion in my kit. **CAUTION TO ALL** I nearly completely broke my elbow joint when I attempted to flex it. For some reason it felt really tight on one side and when I went to flex it, the piece almost came apart. Now the right elbow is all loose 😢. Just careful and don’t force anything if it’s too tight (that’s what she said 🤣).
I'm totally gonna get this! It's on my shopping list rn, also gonna get a VerKa Wing Zero. It's so beautiful, I can't pass it up. Also, have you built the Mega size Unicorn yet? I have a feeling you've probably already done the Mega RX-78-2
I’ve been loving you’re approach to these kits. Do you ever plan on branching out to other model kit companies? If it’s Kotobukiya id highly recommend the msg Garudagear. It’s got an mg size and is fully transformable
Used to watch jang when I was younger with all the lego and megabloks reviews. Ended up getting into model kits and gunpla during the pandemic so I kinda stopped watching. and all of a sudden I get Jang in my recomendations again! this time with gunpla!
RG Nu, and RG Sazabi are great as well. You don’t need to worry about pieces falling off of those from my own experience. The Nu was a bit more enjoyable than the Sazabi due to the tiny funnels though.
Personally, I dont like this one at all. Sure, it has some pretty amazing engineering, but because of it the overall proportions of the gundam are off. I just hate how thick its legs are, same with the bubble head. RG 1.0 kept the spirit of the original gundam much better.
Now i need a GP02 in this kind of engineering. 😂
There’s a Third Party MG styled kit made by Solomon model and i’ve beard its really good and has multiple layers too
@HybrydATP64 yeah Solomon, didn't know if it's available and how much work it requires.
@@PhoenixFyre yeah its available in several places and from what i know, it requires minimal work
Do it Bandai !!!!!! 💵
They teased a GP02a RG kit years ago… but it went nowhere 😢
Holy crap Jang is now reviewing mecha model kits???? i never expected this lol
Same, I've been watching his lego review videos for a long time and I was surprised that he's also reviewing gunpla kits now.
He's been doing it for a while on his personal channel, theJang, for a while. Not too long ago he decided to split it off into this new channel.

I mean, MG 3.0 did come out 11 years ago. It's far less RG vs MG than new vs old, no matter the grade. Bandai keeps raising its own bar.
@@JangMecha True true, makes me wonder what a 4.0 would look like

if you’re liking this, I think you’d really enjoy the Narrative Ver. Ka. 1/100 which you like, still has a core block system, amazing mix of Nu and Unicorn.
Hi, I've been watching you since I was 7 years old and I've got to say, it's incredible that you now have a channel that's dedicated to gunpla
After the RG Zeta I said never again. But I couldn't resist.
Jang is back to my recommendations, I've watched a lot of your lego videos growing up, now as I switch hobbies it lead me to your videos once again
I'm glad this showed up in my recommended. I love your Lego reviews, and it's great to hear your perspectives on Gunpla kits. Use to watch your Lego reviews and now to see you start covering gundam is so dope. Keep em coming!

mine is in route at the moment . can not wait to build this one and compare it all my other grand daddies.
Now this is much better than the OG RG ones
Had no idea you created a separate channel for gundam/mecha! Looking forward to more videos in the future!
Refreshing review style. Instant sub❤

Wow I didnt know you did gundam stuff now! I remember watching your lego videos
My first Gundam kit from Bandai, before this, i just buy cheap bootleg from China. I love the craft and engineering behind this Gundam. Its a Art worth to buy and have it.
You should try building the mg barbatos next it’s a very unique kit compared to most master grades as most of the build is the inner frame itself
Jealous. I've been waiting on mine for months. Looks amazing tho. I'm super hyped now
I'm more happy with it not shedding parts...my older one keeps losing it's skirts and I'd had to glue in the thruster bells on the pack.
Nice 😮
You have a great voice, very pleasant to listen to. Great vid :)
Hey jang could you review the mg barbatos please?👀👀
Man even Jang got his, HLJ really screwed me over on my pre-order, gonna have to order it from Newtype or USAGundam when they get it at this rate...
Was hoping to see some Evoroids on this channel

He's built numerous kits from various brands.
How is this the first time I'm finding out you have a Gundam channel?
Any loose part ?
just got this model in the mail today! I'll probably start it this weekend. so excited
Not a rx78 fan but has 12 kits and wearing a rx shirt haha
I might get this kit if i every find it on sale.
Jang doing mecha now?

I still thing the original rx-78-2 looks sooo much better. I personally never cared about articulation
Personally i'm not a fan of RGs either due to the size and i'm not vibing with the visual changes made to the RX-78-2 for the 2.0
The size is just normal HG...
Anyone else hate how it’s posed?

This version is closser to the VaKa design. I like it except for the chest vents
