Sorry for the late upload guys. Our ship just crossed the Pacific Ocean for the past 2 weeks so we didn't have any internet. But finally, here it is!!! I promise one more episode will be on time this coming Friday. And hopefully, I'd be able to finish a few more videos so I can upload them before we lose internet again. Thanks for watching!!!

Chief, I accidentally bumped into one of your videos because of the hue and cry across the globe due the Ever Given issue in Suez Canal, I wanted to know what was the real issue and where we were heading, now I’m glued to them. You’re videos let me be honest are highly informative and for non seafarers like me it’s arm chair global tour and we get to learn a lot. I see them as highly educational and quality of your videos are just superb. I’m also experiencing the tour around the world which otherwise would have not happened at all. One day I’m in Brazil the next day in Japan and sometime in US ...sometime stuck in the Suez Canal traffic jam. I think that some of your videos should be numbered particularly engineering and maintenance or job roles, so that we see them in sequence first then the second then the third and so on and the sequence would give us a complete work flow from the beginning to the end.

Chief, my Wife and I have only very recently discovered your channel, and we obviously have subscribed and truly enjoy watching your work.
I and so many other people (I am certain) truly appreciate the efforts you make to bring your experiences to the free World.
I am trying to NOT sound like others who have commented and complimented your work, however, we sure do enjoy your calm demeanor, and very professional style of narration, along with the sights of the beautiful N/S Pacific, Indian, N/S Atlantic, and the many seas and ports.
In my humble opinion, what you bring to show the people across the whole of the Earth is incredibly important. The type of work done by You and Your men, and some women perhaps, as well as all who do this type of difficult work across the world has perhaps been overlooked, and / or underappreciated for far too long.
Most folks, especially youngsters perhaps do not think about how their food, Oil, Gasoline, Medications, and hard goods arrived to their region, to their Nation, or even to their particular part of their nation.
In your line of work, transporting bulk food, coal, etc, this is so vital to feeding nearly everyone on Earth, who's country trades in bulk food such as corn, soy, wheat, etc.
I am in the United States, and I know the U.S. used to be, or still is growing a whole lot of corn, wheat, soy, etc.
Thank you for all you and those in your line of work do.
I don't know about others seeing your videos, but you are certainly are a very professional and considerate man who works hard on the ever dangerous high seas.
Again, am a bit new to your channel, and can't stop watching. Thank you for the fantastic videos you have produced.
Stay safe and be well, friend, Chief MAKOi.
    Godspeed.
From the Heartland of the Midwestern United States of America, this is Custos Nocte`
    God Bless.
    Out.

I have been onboard Chinese drilling rigs with local crews, great and friendly guys to work with, very reliable as with most Asian crews, specially Indonesians, they are the "tuff nuts" of the drilling crews, always hard working and fun to work with.

Chief, I subscribed to your channel because you are a good man and I like you. (I can tell instantly about people) What a wonderful metaphor for life with the sentiments you express at the end of this video! You are wise beyond your years and I wish you all of the best. You deserve all of the blessings God can bestow. Thank you for sharing your fascinating life! The younger fish swims up and says, "I am looking for the ocean." The other fish says, "that's what you are in now." The younger fish says, "This? This is just water...what I am looking for is the ocean."

Yes it's very true, just because you get to port does not mean the holiday starts, most times there is a reason to stay onboard, but as the Chief says, that's all part of the job, would have really loved to have sailed with you Chief, sorry you had to miss your night ashore, China is a wonderful place to have a shore break people are so nice.

I’m delighted that you have so many inspections, authorities, maintenance and repairs. To me that means you are safer, your ship is cleaner and more reliable and your cargo will arrive in perfect order. I’m sure it’s a huge amount of work but you handle the load well.
I didn’t realize you have been hiding your ship’s identification, until now. You are not in danger I hope! The ship’s schedule isn’t a secret from thieves and pirates, right? It’s an issue of privacy and marketing, I hope.

Enjoy your videos Chief. I flew cargo 747's into Shenzhen in the late '90's thru 2007. Was a culture shock for me and the local citizens since I'm an old white guy that's very tall. Got a lot of stares on the sidewalk when out and about. Once in a while we would ride the turbine passenger boat to Hong Kong airport for a crew swap. Safe travels for you my friend.

My father was born in St. Augustine Florida in 1898. He loved the sea. He joined the AEF in 1917 and after WW1, I found in his military records after he passed away in 1987, he had joined the merchant marines in 1919 to 1922. On Ancestory website, we found a ships crew list, where he had finished a contract, and was sailing back from Norway to Mayport Florida. He rejoined the Army in 1922 until 1949. I have always been curious about what he did on the various ships. I am sure that things were a lot different in 1919, contracts, jobs, ships, etc. Thank you so much for these videos. I wish I could find merchant marine records going that far back. My father was a Menorcan and his ancestors were part of the original landing in New Smyrna in 1777, with our history going back on the Isle of Menorca to 1650. Our coat of arms features a sailing ship. My last name is not "Arnold", although it does start with an "A". This name was a typo when creating my yahoo account. Anyway thanks again, for these great videos. I have grandchildren who might be interested in this profession.
