this is by far one of the most important youtube videos ive come by thank you for this i had 300k mails from my old email and it was hella annoying to delete all of em manually

OMG! Thank you!! I had over 45,000 emails and this worked!! It worked quicker than I thought. I have now set a reminder on my phone to go into my emails every 2 hours to delete emails, hopefully to stay on top of it.😊

I finally found a place at the very bottom left hand side where I could select “desktop”. Then the regular inbox was back. Look forward to watching more of your content.
Like others, I've been looking for this solution forever, thank you, Goldy! Subscribed! Also, for taking the time to explain the process so computer dummies like myself could follow your directions. If all other tutorials were presented like yours, I would be way further along in the learning curve. I also have around 62-63k emails, it depresses me, lol. I'll dump dive the trash bin over the next 30 days and save anything worth saving. Made my day. As a side note, I took on, as a hobby, astrophotography, and many times I wonder why. There are plenty of tutorials on UTube, but many authors have a habit of nervously moving the cursor around whereby I can't follow all of their "clicks", including talking too fast detailing various steps in the processing software. It's frustrating for people like me who like to follow the steps or take notes. This is one of the best 48-year wedding anniversaries I ever had.
Consider slowing down playback on youtube. Hover your mouse over the vid so that the gear icon is displayed (at lower right on desktop / laptop / maybe others), click on that icon, see playback speed as a submenu option, choose a diff speed --

I am about 6 years late but I have to say thank you. That saved me a fuck ton of time.
Very helpful! Mine deleted around 3,000-5,000 at a time though-it didn't do all of them at once (I had 29K). I had to delete them multiple times, but this is still the most helpful way to get ride of those messages.

This is one of the most satisfying things ever, over 50 000 emails gone! This makes me wonder, how were we communicating before emails?! :')
I was using my email since early 2008 with my brother and we never deleted the emails, until he handed me over our account. And I had the needs to delete. It was filled up to 50k. This helped me out a lot!
Very good instructions and they worked. 3k e-mails, all gone!

I figured out my problem I just posted below this. I changed the search to- older_than:1y. This kept the past years worth of emails, and also gave me the "Select all conversations that match this search" option. This put them in the Trash file, which I then emptied. Now I'm down to about 3K emails (the last years worth). Thank you for this info.

I had been deleting 100 at a time for several days now, and gotten down under 30,000 .... that was so boring! Then I discovered this video.

What an amazing tip! I've looked for years for this solution! It actually only let me delete about 10K at a time but it's way better than 100 at a time.
same for me! 10k at a time when I had 92k emails to delete. Its now down to 5k at a time with 60k left.

this works perfectly, also, if you want only delete, for example, all tweeter mails, search
from:tweeter
you can combine it with unreads
from:tweeter is:unread
And so on, i used this method for cleaning my mail

And I have two..a google email that runs a day behind so it's all double work plus my working up to date google email so I don't understand why this is happening with google when I switched from yahoo....anyway it took some time but done. Thank you again. But I do not understand why two accounts and one not working right so it is doubling up on me every day !!!!!!! ugh
