Thanks, I could maybe make a video on that in the future, but it is fairly difficult because you need quite a high featured video editing app, so I'm a little worried it wouldn't be of much interest to a lot of my audience.
It will depend on how you have the filter set. When you set it to show emails from a specific person, the bottom option of those filter options will be "search" and there will be a drop down menu with options like "All Mail", "Inbox", and several others. If you set it to all mail, it will bring up all emails from that person, regardless of what folder they are in. But if you set it to inbox, or another specific folder, it will only bring up emails that are in that specific folder, so then only those emails will be deleted.
Paste this into the search: after:2021/1/1 before:2024/1/1 That should bring up all emails between those dates, then you can delete them as shown in the video.
I've just tested some things, and I've discovered it doesn't seem to work unless you are using the default inbox. Click on the settings icon in the top right hand corner, and in the panel that appears, scroll down to "inbox type", and make sure it is set to default. Hopefully, it is set to something else, and you can change it to default, then you will be able to bulk delete.
i am having difficuty ..i typed an email wrong (mail returned) and i do not know how to get rid of it. it is frustrating because i select this misstyped email again and again...please, how doi get rid of this...thank you
Sorry, I'm not sure what to tell you, there isn't anything special about bounce back emails, you should just be able to delete it using any of the normal ways that you would delete an email.

Oh, I see, an email address. For that, you'll need to go into Google contacts. Go to contacts.google.com, type the incorrect email address in the search, and click on it when it comes up. Then, click on the three dots in the top right hand corner, and click Delete. Back in Gmail, you might need to refresh the page, or even wait a little while for it to take effect, but it should then be removed.

With that many emails it will probably take quite a long time for them all to delete, but if you selected them all, they should all be deleted eventually.

I've tried different devices and there is no box to 'select all'. I've tried it in the browser as well as the Gmail app. Do i need to be using a PC?
Yes, you can't do this at all on a phone or tablet, it has to be a computer.

how do I delete all mail from 2022 and older?
The same way you delete mail from 2023 and later, the date of the email shouldn't have anything to do with it.
I've got 255,079 emails. It asks if I want to delete them all , I say yes, and it doesn't work!
You probably just need to wait quite a while for it to process with that many emails. If you check back tomorrow, they should all be deleted.
