    A cluttered Inbox can often lead to missing something important, creates stress, and wastes a lot of your precious time when you are searching for emails you need.
    Luckily, there are some simple ways for deleting multiple or all emails in Gmail using the Gmail app on mobile and gmail.com on a browser.
    How to delete all emails in the Gmail app
    With the built-in Gmail app features on mobile, unfortunately, you can’t delete all emails at once, what you can do is clean things up by removing multiple emails at once. To do it, you need to:
    1. Launch the Gmail mobile app;
    2. Tap the icon just to the left of an email to "tick" it and reveal tick boxes for all of the other messages you no longer need;
    3. Click the "bin" icon in the top right of your screen.
    While this option may seem time-consuming, it’s the best (and the only) option when using the Gmail mobile app.
    How to delete all emails on Gmail.com
    The browser version of Gmail makes the process a bit easier. To delete all emails at once or just multiple messages, follow these steps:
    1. Sign in to your Gmail account in your web browser.
    2. On the left side of your screen, select "More" (you may have to hover your cursor over the icons on the left of your screen to reveal this option if you are on the desktop).
    3. Select the category you want to clean up, generally "All Mail"
    4. Click the empty select square on the top left of your screen directly below the Gmail logo. Select the category you want to delete such as "All" or "Unread".
    5. Select and click the bin icon to the right of the select square.
    6. Click "OK" on the confirmation box.
    ‼ Be careful here, if you choose the All Mail folder to clean up, you will delete absolutely all emails from your Inbox. The action is irreversible. So, to avoid this, please choose the Inbox folder instead.
    Delete all emails with Clean Email
    If you’re looking for an easier way with more options, you can look at Clean Email. To delete all emails in Gmail using the Clean Email, follow these steps:
    1. Go to app.clean.email and sign into your account (or create one);
    2. Select “All mail” on the left pane of the home screen.
    3. Click “Select multiple” on the bottom of the screen, then click “Select all”.
    4. Click the “Trash” icon and you are done!*
    ‼️ You should NOT change the option and select 'future emails' too because in this case an automatic rule will be created, which will delete ALL future inbox emails.
    Quick warning:
    If you choose to delete all emails, it usually means it-an empty Inbox. That's okay if this is the goal. However, if you would like to keep your starred messages, or emails from specific senders- Clean Email can be really useful.
    Selecting emails using filters in Clean Email
    Just use filters, or settings to Excluded Emails in Preferences BEFORE cleaning.
    When showing filters, you may also mention (or even show) how to delete multiple emails based on some criteria/filter (like emails older than, or social notifications, etc.-scenarios where smart views or filters can be applied).
    And it’s that easy to delete all emails in Gmail at once.

    A great improvement would be to search whatever emails you wish to delete from the search bar. And then have the option to delete them all. That would be time saving.

    My browser Gmail does not look like that, and doesn't have a select all box at the top. I have to click each one individually and considering there's over 150k in the inbox, this isn't going to work without hours of clicking check boxes. There's got to be another way! My email won't sync since I'm maxed on storage space and I've been dealing with this a week already trying everything I know to try, but one click mass delete is all that's going to be practical.

      It seems like you have a different view. On your computer, go to Gmail > Click Settings. Scroll to Inbox type. >
      Select Default, Important first, Unread first, Starred first, Priority Inbox, or Multiple Inboxes. The one that I use is Default.

    The app needs the same feature for deleting all emails at once (based on a filter) like the browser version does. There's no reason not to offer this. I hardly use the browser version anymore but I still have to use it to do mass deletions like from subscriptions.

      With the desktop version of Gmail, click the question mark icon near the top. Select Training. Google has put a lot of time and thought into step by step directions on how to use GMail effectively . Microsoft and Apple provide similar, and decent self support articles, but for the average user they look poor in comparison to Google's self support for its free full-function desktop email client.

      This option surely works. However, if you'd like to save more of your time, you can automate the whole process by simply setting up the rules (watch my another video about creating rules). This way all future messages will be processed as soon as they come into your Inbox, and no need to do it manually.

      It feels sometimes it can take a bit more time for Gmail servers to process actions you initiated (delete thousands of emails, for instance). Have you had a chance to re-check if the emails you deleted were removed from your Inbox?

    • @cleanemail
      @cleanemail  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is correct and this seems to be a Gmail's drawback. You may use filters to select ALL emails matching the criteria, but it hardly can help if you need your whole Inbox to be cleaned completely. To save time, you may use a third-party app-it could make it faster.

      Open the Gmail app -> Head to Settings (it's towards the bottom in the left-hand menu) -> Select 'Inbox customisations' -> Click on 'Email swipe actions'. Here, you can set actions for both left and right swipes. To delete emails with a swipe, simply choose the 'Bin' option. Hope this clarifies things!

      Apologies for the confusion. The interface of Gmail can vary slightly depending on the platform you're using. If you're on the mobile app, the options might look a bit different from the web version on a computer. If you're having trouble finding specific options, please check your View mode in the Gmail settings. The one that I use is Default.

      That's quite a lot of emails! While the manual deletion method can be effective for a small number of emails, it might struggle with larger volumes, like in your case. You can try using filtering options in Gmail to select all emails matching your criteria (more than 50 at a time). Alternatively, the Clean Email tool could help you manage and organize your inbox more efficiently, even when dealing with thousands of emails. Give it a try and see if it makes the process easier for you, it's free with 1000 emails and a 14-day trial (no credit card) to see how advanced features work.

    Would be much more easy if you could just select the spam emails from company adds,select that company by name only and delete all from that company and so on with other worthless emails.

    • @cleanemail
      @cleanemail  ปีที่แล้ว

      If in Gmail, you can try to do that using filters and then select all emails matching the same criteria > Trash them.
      In Clean Email, you have Senders, so you can go there > find the sender you want to delete emails from > Delete. Alternatively, you can go to Sender Settings and adjust the setting for a particular sender - mute emails from them, block, unsubscribe, move to a particular folder, etc.

    • @psdaengr911
      @psdaengr911 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Select one message from a company and mark it SPAM. Watch the message vanish from view. and fewer ones will appear in your Inbox.
      Search All Messages for that company name or domain and you can select every saved message not already labeled as Spam for movement to Trash. Spam and Trash get automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days - longer if you choose that setting - faster if you change to those label views and want to do it manually.

    • @cleanemail
      @cleanemail  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Annelise, thanks for reaching out! Unsubscribing should stop the emails, but if they're still coming, they might be spam. For Gmail, after deleting unwanted emails, don't forget to empty your "Trash" to delete them permanently. If these emails continue to show up in your inbox, consider using Gmail's 'Report spam' feature for these unwanted emails. This helps Gmail to filter out similar emails in the future. Hope this helps! If you're still having issues, let us know!

    • @cleanemail
      @cleanemail  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Understood! When dealing with such a large volume of emails, Gmail filters are your friend. Once you've applied a filter, you'll see a blue text that says "Select [number] of conversations". Click on that to select a large batch of emails (it could be far more than 50) and then hit the Trash can icon. This should make the process more efficient.
