The information we share is given to us by a Real Estate agent who shows us the home and we will share this information with you. Great video guys! We stay in marathon once a year in June for a week. A lot of the rentals you showed us we never knew were available. Thanks for the video, keep up the good work. We will definitely have to look Barbara up next year.

When we came down and camped on the beach we took a snorkeling trip. Totally worth the money. The day we went out there were high wind warnings. So it was just us that went out. But once out the wind did not affect us snorkeling.

You gotta know people down in Marathon to get good deals. These were average tourist rental prices but if you know people you can get these same properties for about half if you are in the know! It pays to have friends in the bizz down there bc there are always properties that are distressed and people hurting for cash that are willing to cut a deal if you find it at the right time. I have stayed in some of the same places they were showing for as little as 600$ a week. No joke!

Have stayed in the house across from the High School 15 years ago. Before the pool went in. The one across Angler, we rented for 4-6 weeks a year for 5 years in a row 2003-2008. Love the area.

Great video. We just visited the keys for the first time. We stayed at Grassy Key RV Resort. We snorkeled on Sombrero Reef and made several trips to Key West. We may be hooked.

Excellent job on the video. Houses were all very nice, but I agree with you on preferring the homes with palm trees and nice private landscaping. I do love the houses built on stilts, as it would become a great area to relax. Brian

Thanks so much Nat! We like it as well, but I think my favorite was the house with the living area right off the pool area, that had the split bedrooms upstairs. It would be different if we lived there, but when on vacation we have found it to really add to the fun of things when the main living area is ground level right off the pool area! Laurie's favorite was the beach house you mention!

Wow you guy’s opened my eyes up. I had a one week hotel room rented in Key west in April for 2,250. What a deal some of these houses are.

I would call and get prices at any given time, I'm sure they change dramatically with the season and other factors.
I enjoyed the tour of the houses I'm looking to rent one down in Marathon Key Colony Key Colony this summer the price is at your advertisers at tax and fees all inclusive or is there extra fees added to those prices that you're adding
The prices in the video are the rental charge for the home. There would be tax and a cleaning fee typically. All this should be discussed with your rental agent of course. Thanks for watching!

There are tons of rental homes here in the Keys of various sizes and cost. Give Coco Plum Vacations a call 305-390-2315 (our rental office) and they would be happy to help you find the perfect spot! Laurie and I are going to try and film some of the different offerings in the near future.
We always use Barbara in Marathon, but looking to go farther west. Maybe around Big Pine or Cudjoe? Anyone you recommend. Looking online I don't see much. Thanks.
That's most likely because only Marathon and Key Colony Beach are permitted to do short term rentals, everywhere else is 28 night minimums for rental homes. I think there are a couple of spots in Key West that are zoned for short terms as well.

Also I am watching your video on your TV station home also you do guided fishing trips right cuz I seen you with South Florida fishing channel in-ear advertise that you might be doing some fishing if you'll put your information in there for me when I get down there I might contact you I got my own boat but it's a bay boat I'd like to get out to the deeper water

Rentals that accept pets are tough to find. there are so many animal lovers down here, but it's a risky thing to rent your home to someone with pets just because of the potential damage and cleaning.
Do you know if the keys has a house or hotel height restrictions?
Sorry, no, we don't know anything about that.....yet!
Can you fish off the dock if you don’t have a boat
That really depends on the individual properties, but I would say most of the time, yes.
Max capacity. Is that a marathon law or throughout the keys?
My understanding is that is a Monroe (the entire Keys) county ordinance. I could be off on this a bit, but I think when an owner applies for a vacation (short term) rental license, the property is inspected and person capacity is determined and written into the license. Here is an interesting note, Marathon and Key Colony Beach are the only areas in the Keys that I know of that allow anything under 28 days for a vacation rental. So you can rent weekly here in Marathon, but not other areas of the Keys. I also have heard that there is talk of changing that ruling so that all areas of the Keys can rent weekly...but as of right now that has not changed.

What I noticed is, that you Americans are able to pay crazy money for something that is not worth that money. We Europeans do not pay as much for renting a holiday home, or rather we are not keen to pay that money. It seems to me that this is due to the fact that we have at least a month of vacation a year and you have one week, so you are trying to extract as much from this week as possible. Of course, I am not saying that houses are not nice, they are very nice, but not worth that kind of money. BTW, Florida is amazing ;-) thanks for the video
