A fabulous game, the AI is more dynamic than some sims that came 15 years later. I remember being able to get the car sideways off throttle and correct it, which really impressed me. I'm eager to get it running on my PC.
This and the second instalment called Monaco grand prix Racing Simulation 2 are still to this day , my favourite F1 Racing games. Worth building a retro rig for them to overcome the Framerate issue where you have to set the exact Framerate for them to run correctly with a modern non-single core CPU. Not much of an issue with todays graphic cards mind but there are a couple of glitches when running the game at a much higher resolution than it was ever designed for. Most notably some texture handling of the sky and sun glare as well as the big replay screens that can cause slowdown. You can turn off in settings or keep on and run the game at a lower resolution. I opt for 2k resolution and just turning those off when I do use my modern day PC.
are you running this on windows 10? how do you get it to run at the correct speed? i have this game running fine but in 3dfx mode it runs too slowly during the race and car is hard to move
@Salvador XS what problem are you having with it ? i have my copy running perfectly now in windows 10 - i had to try a few things, using wrappers such as DGvoodoo2 and or Dxwnd - you will need to get familiar with these, as well as Nglide as another alternative -all free easy to use applications i was able to fix my game speed through my nvidia card control panel where in its settings you can actually set the frame rate i found this all works for Racing SImulation 2 also but different cards and computers might need different approaches, though using the above programs will yield a result if you persevere
@Salvador XS you have installed it from cdrom or iso image? i install mine from disc and select the 3Dfx/voodoo option for the graphics and then i put the dgvoodoo files in the game folder - you have to put in the dgvoodoo.conf, dgvoodooCpl.exe and files from teh Glide x86 folder that are in the dgvoodoo zip (go get it from dege's dgvoodoo site) dgvoodoocpl.exe must be set to run as admin you might need though also to get a no-cd version of the game exes - again look up the game online for no-cd, i think ihad to use these also. if you can do all this, the game should launch when you run f1voo.exe - you might still have graphics issues but there are further steps you can take, i just want to see if first you can do this and get the game started.
@@philt6440 thanks - i did get my copies of both rs1 and rs2 running in win 10 and i got the speed working right in the end by the frame speed in teh nvidia settings
Brilliant memories that are brought back after 25 years. I can hear those noises again
Really loved this game ❤❤! I asked to my father to buy me a 3dfx graphic card to play with it. Good memories, good times😢
Me too! Voodoo 2 12 MB "for studying and school projects"

This was like a graphical milestone back then.
Yes, made me proud of what my p200mmx with a 3dfx voodoo1 can do 🤣🤣🤣
The framerate, the sheer beauty... ah..
I love Formula 1 Racing.

I got always "Can't run without CD Rom Error". Even if my Disc is in the Drive. Anyone got a solution how to fix this?
I use the iso from F1RS2 (Monaco GPRS ) to start F1RS.
