one thing that i heard about 2004 was that brigestone was pretty much focusing a lot on ferrari, which made a lot of the other teams change to michelin, and they were also making faster and softer tyres for them, so ferrari would pull strategies like these, with a lot of pit stops and still win, i think this was why FIA then banned tyre changes during the races for 2005, knowing that brigestone didnt have the same experience as michelin to create a durable tyre, so ferrari strugled a lot that season
they used to used that strategy because bridgestone developed a high degradation tire but really good for quick stints like this, so that why in 2005-2006 they were screw... ferrari was working on this tyres and then the rules where change.
Yes, Bridgestone was a big problem for Ferrari in 2005 and 2006. Especially in 2005, it was a disaster, except US GP))) Where Bridgestone seemed to be stronger)
Something similar to what happened to Mercedes a couple of years ago. They could get pole positions almost in every GP but they literally demolished tyres in the process. They could get incredible laps but at the cost of degrading too quickly, until they had a 'secret' test with roughly 1000 km and they fixed the problem.
@@f1onboardpassion791Imola in 2005 was also a prime example of what Ferrari could have been that year if the tyres had worked properly.
