Welcome Ashley!
Hey its me Zarocks! I was not expecting to see my mini here on the video, I figured it would be an instagram post or something, but what a pleasant surprise!
I would be very interesting to listen to the design process of a board game; from coming up with a theme, genre, or even the ins and outs from a production stand point. All of that would be very interesting....also more content about Mythic Mischief vol. 2 =)
We wanted to showcase your work- you did an incredible job!
welcome back from gen con! I hope it was really fun guys. hopefully you guys have more content from it. welcome ashley!
Gen Con was a blast!
Welcome Ashley! Would love to see more about the everyday work that the team puts into games. Researching new game ideas, working on current projects, etc
We are definitely considering this kind of content so we're glad you suggested it!
Welcome Ashley!
Would like to see you talking about the process you go through when making your games, both from design and production points.
Welcome Ashley! I think there is a lot of review content of board games already, so I like how this show is more of a conversation and not focused on one thing, but would love to see sneak peaks or announcements dropped here first for IV Games news!
Thanks, Erick! We wanted it to feel like you are apart of the conversation and for it to be a way for people to know what's happening in the board game world as well as the IV Games world!
Welcome Ashley! I can't wait to see more videos coming out from you both. I think your chemistry together is great, and with the camera too. You both seem natural. The future interviews look interesting also. I think having a weekly place to go to learn about boardgame news is great. There are a lot of youtubers out there doing their thing on boardgames, but this seems perfect for you both. It brings me back to the quality of "Tabletop" with Will Wheaton. That being said, it would be great to see you playing through a few games with some guests, possibly those same fellow youtubers you'll be interviewing, and what you think about the mechanics for future boardgame designs.
wow, thank you for the compliment! Stick around because we have some guests coming on to play some games with us...
Welcome Ashley! I’d love to learn more about crowdsourcing play tests. A friend and I are working on some rules variants and eventually want to get some play testers! Looking to iterate effectively and efficiently.
Welcome Ashley! I’d love to see more random things (like the finger chopsticks) that make playing games better. Maybe storage solutions, best dice trays, etc.
This is the content we would love to make!
Welcome Ashley!
As someone who is really into game design and asymetric games, in-depth videos of Mythic Mischied development would be very interesting. Choosing the student trope, building abilities around it (you did a great job with that!), design iterations (like the outdated abilities in the vol 2 preview videos), the balancing process (which must have been really hard to do well for an abstract game with so many factions).
We wish we could just make a whole documentary around the development from start to finish!
Welcome Ashley! Insider take on new games coming out - speculation about design, production, marketing
We too love an insider scoop
Welcome Ashley! Love the content as always IV
Welcome Ashley! Keep up the good work folks! I’d be down to see a Jamie style favorite mechanic of the week or something!
Love Jamie, great idea!
Welcome Ashley! I like how you mentioned the games you played. I enjoy hearing more about the games you are currently playing and your thoughts on them.
Heard, we'll see what we can do!
Welcome Ashley! I'm loving the show. As mention by others, hearing about your design process and learning will be super interesting!
Thanks, Dani, we're glad you like it! Many people have asked about some content on our design process- we'll get that out soon!
Thank you both for another quite enjoyable video. I very interested in the art and design that goes into IV Games project so the more the better, as well as your thoughts and insights into other games. I'm glad that you are probably adding another cast member to your show since it's nice to have various viewpoints so, welcome Ashley!
We're excited the team is growing and that you all get to be here to witness it!
Welcome Ashley!
It would be fun and interesting to hear about your design processes, how you tackle unexpected issues that arise throughout these processes and what lessons you've learned afterwards that you carry through to subsequent projects.
Unexpected issues happen and we'd love to share the learning moments with you!
Welcome Ashley!
I would love to see some behind the scenes of what it takes to run a board game company and your design processes.
Got it- we agree that some more behind the scenes can be exciting!
Welcome Ashley!!! I would love to see you guys give us your top 5's/10's list on boardgames and then go through and review each others list over time!
Thanks for the recommendation, Adrian- it's a good one!
Welcome Ashley! I'd love a segment on the podcast that talks through some of the everyday stuff that goes on at the studio. Might be boring for you guys but we the public aren't exposed to it. Maybe just a highlight of the week or a funny story that happened during playtesting or designing.
Thanks for the recommendation- definitely not boring!
Welcome Ashley! looking forward to watching more of your vids!
Thank you for the welcome, James!
Welcome Ashley!
Thanks so much!
Really liking this series so far - Welcome Ashley! Your thread on game components could be its own episode (100% would watch!) I was playing Fire Tower last night and it doesn’t have many components but their fire pieces are captivating on the table - good example of a game with amazing table presence without overly complicated gameplay. Also cmon - you’ve gotta go back and watch Teen Titans!
We think everyone should watch Teen Titans, it really is a great show.
Welcome Ashley! It would be cool to hear your favorite food booths!
We will take every opportunity we can to talk about food.
Welcome Ashley! I'm new to the podcast but I always love top ten lists that are super unique!
We love unique... any specific suggestions??
Welcome Ashley :)
Would love to see a segment on "art of the teach" if you haven't done something like that already. I always found the teach videos for your games to be exquisite !
This is helpful information for us and love the use of the word "exquisite"
Welcome Ashley - I wanna see more of whatever this is, I’m enjoying the direction of this show :)
We're glad you like "whatever this is", because we like it too.
Welcome Ashley!!
I would love to see your guy’s top 10 games! I love to see what games other people love to find new ones to add to my own collection! :)
It's like a book club but for board games!
Welcome Ashley! My interests are what games are currently making you happy. Could be hotness or just classic evergreen games. Thanks!
Welcome Ashley! I would love to see lists of top games in certain genres as well as design diaries/what inspired your games
The design diaries sounds like a great title for a segment
Welcome Ashley!
GenCon sounds really fun. I liked hearing about what games you have been playing. I need to play Foundations sometime! Also appreciated when you are able to show a graphic or hold up the game you are talking about.
Thanks, Kev!
Welcome Ashley!
What made you all take the leap into board games as a studio and what what were some of the unexpected learning curves you all faced during the production process of your first game?
Thanks!
Welcome Ashley! I want some IV gameplays!
More IV gameplays- got it!😉
Welcome Ashley! Love that yalls team is growing! I'd also love to hear some of your design process around game flavor, mechanics, etc.
oooo game flavor- I like it.
Welcome Ashley !
a segment on which game you would like and could see getting travel sized so you can play on your long trips to europe or in the car to your holiday. could be interesting
oooo Europe sounds fun, have an extra spot available?
For starters: Welcome Ashley!
I’m so happy Mistwind is your pick. I backed it but have been on the edge of whether it’s actually a good game. (I’ve been burnt before on Kickstarter) but this solidified it for me.
Side note: I backed fractured specifically because of how much you guys transparently played the game live over and over again.
Thank you, Caleb! We strive to be as transparent as possible, especially when it comes to our games.
Welcome Ashley! Meet the team video :3
Our team is growing so we really should do this!
Welcome Ashley! I hope Gencon was fun :)
Thank you for the welcome, Gen Con was a blast!
Welcome Ashley! I’d love to see more behind-the-scenes content of developing Boardgames. Absolutely loving the show so far 👏🏻
Behind-the-scenes with Analysis Paralysis... still workshopping the long segment title.
The SNOW is my favourite part of fall hehehehehe ;)
Welcome aboard Ashley!
It'd be great to hear the different takes on how you host game nights with folks who aren't as familiar with boardgames and/or rpg's. What approaches do you take to help newcomers feel comfortable trying something new/intimidating?
This suggestion is helpful- being more new with boardgames and rpg's can definitely be intimidating so we'll see what kind of advice we can offer!
Welcome back to the real(?) world!
Ascendancy would love to get our prototype into your hands. Get at us 😁
Welcome Ashley! Would like to hear about some smaller game conventions.
Paul this is a great idea!
Welcome Ashley!
I would love to know more on how you balanced the new factions in mythic mischief.
This is a great idea... keep your eyes peeled to our social media accounts because you may just see the answer very soon...
Welcome Ashley.. and Austin.. and Lily hahaha, another great episode
Hey you know what they say, the more the merrier.
Welcome Ashley, also love the episode as always!
Thank you- we're glad you love it!
Welcome Ashley! 🙌 What a wonderful team you're a part of and tbh I'm jealous. As for recommendations:
- Would love to see this show in a full audio format. I devour podcasts.
- Interviews with fellow game creators would be awesome. Either about new stuff they're working on, how they worked through creative process, how they got into the field, etc. Could be iv team or just others you know in the biz.
- Similar to the mailbag segment, perhaps let people as Qs and answer them here. Obviously some direction and culling would be necessary.
Overall, love the mix of news and recs and personal insight/banter. Nice job and can't wait for more!
Thank you, Owen, for your support! We're happy that you love it and thank you for the great suggestions!
Welcome Ashley!🎉🎉🎉
Suggestion for the show. I'd love to hear the games that the design to has looked to for inspiration. Maybe you could cover moonrakers, veiled fate, mythic myscheif and fractured sky all in seperate episodes!
Inspiration corner with IV Games.. new segment alert!
Great show as always! Glad y'all enjoyed GenCon!
Welcome Ashley! #welcomeashley
#thankyou , we're glad you like the show!
Welcome Ashley !!!
Can we get a video going over the design process of your board games!
Stay tuned to our social media channels because we have something like this in the pipeline!
Lilly, if you didn't like the lush you luck on Quacks, there is a 50% chance you'll like Cubitos, apparently
Tidal blades looks awesome, Its on my radar. Also excited about Foundations of Metropolis so I can finally afford it
Welcome Ashley!!!!
Really love the banter between you two, not sure what I'd add, you do a nice job of Spotlighting a few things without going too in the weeds. Obviously this was a longer one with it being post-Gencon but love how tight they episodes feel overall
There's always space for some friendly banter...
Welcome Ashley, MORE GUESTS
OKAY!
Welcome Ashley🥳 I thought you could perhaps make an honor segment, where you look at some older games, which is must haves.
This is a super cool idea... adding this to our list!
Welcome Ashley! Kickstarter logos, where and how your team navigates fulfillment.
Oooooh- not very many people are interested about fulfillment so this is intriguing.
@@IVGamesStudio I always enjoy hearing about the ups and downs of getting a product to market. It's fascinating! #problemsolving
Welcome Ashley!
I want to see you play dexterity games while using the Snacktives. Crokinole with Cheetos? Jenga with Sushi? Impress me.
We're here to impress.
Nice closure for some great days.
Thanks for the hint on Obojima. I am instantly interested as well... normally do not do RPG, but this one has me intrigued so much I might back it.
And welcome Ashley. Would like to see what great game you're cooking up next?
We always have a little something up our sleeve...
Welcome Ashley! I would love to go to GenCon one year, it sounds amazing.
My question is: what game have you spent the most money on?
Maybe next year you can make it out to Gen Con!
Welcome Ashley!! You should mention your most AP moment of the last week (board game or otherwise)
This is a good one!
Welcome Ashley!! I would love to hear a favorite games discussion
Thank you, Ryan! Are you talking about a conversation we've had during a game or a conversation surrounding board games?
@@IVGamesStudio a conversation about what your favorite games are! Sorry for not being more specific 😜
Welcome Ashley! Would love to see how you develop a game from start to finish. Also some of the mistakes that you have learned from in creating games
Welcome Ashley! At first I thought you guys had named the octopus ashley, then I found out why later 😂
Hahaha this is too funny, luckily Ashley is not the octopus!
Welcome Ashley! I don't currently own any IV studio games, but enjoyed playing moonrakers and hope to pick that up at some point. I love the quality that is poured into your games, I'm curious as to what games you enjoy that you would love to deluxify to be on par with games you produce. Thanks for the content!
New favorite word: deluxify. Going to add this to my daily vocabulary.
Welcome welcome Ashley! I like to bake and cook, maybe you could do some of your favorite board game snack recipes.
This is a perfect idea seeing as though our team loves snacks! Great idea!
Oh good @@IVGamesStudio , you had me worried you were somehow not snack people ;)
Lol I don't think it's a homework assignment, but The Lord of the Rings is arguably the best book to movie adaptation, and it's one of the best movie triologies of all time. If you're interested in fantasy settings at all, they're among the best of the best.
That said, I'm biased because I grew up with those things.
Not too big on Star Wars though. I think the best things they produced were the Clone Wars cartoons and more recently, Andor. Andor was peak tv.
I agree with you about The Lord of the Rings comment... so good.
Welcome Ashley! Have youall played mosaic a story of civilization? I'm on love with this game. It's a chic game that plays in 2 hours and feels so good.
Welcome Ashley! Would like to hear about which regions of the world are seeing growth or decline in your product sales.
I don't think anyone has asked this kind of question, we'll have to check into it!
Lol Austin complaining about a box being too big is too ironic. I love my titan box!
Welcome Ashley! I’d love to see a segment on where you think the board game industry is headed as a whole. Do you think we’re in the “golden age” of board games or is that far behind us?
oooooh this is a great topic of discussion
I'm looking forward to more content on MM Vol 2
Prepare yourself because we have a lot coming your way...
Welcome Ashley! I would love to hear what is the thought process and how board games are made. Also do you guys have any plans or are developing a new game? Love your board games
When we do have plans on a new development, Analysis Paralysis is one of the places you'll hear it from first!!
Looking forward to seeing what else you do in the future. Quick recommendation or ask, any chance of timestamps for these videos?
Yes! Moving forward all of our Analysis Paralysis videos will have timestamps on them!
Welcome Ashley! I'd like to know what your favorite game genre's are and why.
I like the specific nature of this suggestion- thank you Casey!
I feel for you Austin. I played Ra Monday with my family. I had the 13 token (highest token in a four player game) and I didn't use it either round two or three because I pulled two red Ra tiles back to back (ending the round) in both rounds two and three. I got destroyed.
It only goes up from there.
Welcome Ashley!
So my question is what is your favorite small box game?
Adding it to our suggestions!
Welcome Ashley. How about a segment where people can submit two games they are debating between and you can debate which to go with and who might like each.
We love a good debate over here at Analysis Paralysis.
We were really excited to trade you a copy of Davy Jones' Locker: The Kraken Wakes for Veiled Fate! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the game if you've had a chance to play it!
ANALYSIS PARALYSIS BACK, WELCOME ASHLEY!
Hey Austin, what's that productivity/organisation program you use? I asked a while back on the Discord but forgot hehehe
WE ARE BACK!
Biggest news was discovering IV games! How does one get demo or review copies of your games? Not at the point of purchasing but they are on my wish list 😁
We're glad you discovered us- we're happy you're here!
Welcome Ashley!
I asked this last week, but will this every become something you post as a podcast on google/apple/spotify? I don't always have time to watch the video, but have a commute to work that I can listen to stuff everyday. I enjoy the conversation and would love to have another option to listen to it.
Also, did you make a trade for anything Chip Theory Games at GenCon?
Hopefully at some point we will have Analysis Paralysis in a straight audio format, I love listening to podcasts in the car too!
Guess I'll copy everyone else.. WELCOME ASHLEY!
Thank you for the welcome!
Yooo Welcome Ashley!
Can we get updates on your current game developments since the conclusion of Fractured sky!@
A lot has happened here in the studio since then!
Welcome Ashley!
Thank you!
