Great video as always! I am really excited about 'Ascendancy', and happy to hear you'll have a video coming up regarding it. I tried it last night in TTS, and played the tutorial scenario. I'm completely blown away by what I'm seeing so far.
Not going to say who it was, but you were right about how insane people went for their hauls. One board game channel had nearly 100 games. Just imagine the amount of social pressure that puts on people...
Pressure? How? They paid full price for games that are either already out for less or will be out within the next 2 months. Seems a bit silly to me. No pressure to keep up with that.

Embarrassing to see Stonemaier Games issue a DMCA and suspend the Farms Race campaign over those parody cards. Looks like they've filed a counternotification, so we'll see if Stonemaier backs down or if this ends up in court over a fair use argument.
I am in for Kreel Manor and Fighting Fantasy Adventure because I like card driven dungeon crawls that I can easily get to the table. Most of my time I am playing big, campaign games (currently League of Dungeoneers) so small, card based games are ideal. Ascendancy looks amazing but I am predominantly a dungeon crawl, skirmish, tower defence player, so I probably wouldn't get it to the table?
Hey Haxan. Just a heads up that Ascendancy comes with trays for everything, which makes setup & packup a relative breeze for a game of its size. It's not quite a dungeon crawler, but has lots of crunchy strategy RPG mechanics, particularly the combat system. Thanks for the consideration :D
I have backed Curse of the last emperor and waiting it to be delivered. Is it worth to own both Ascendancy and Curse of the last emperor since both are 4x games? It is tough to back KS projects for EU citizen because of VAT. I can literally buy Core box of Kill Team and Core Box of Warcry for the price of single box of Ascendancy. I know those are both skirmish games, but I am trying to explain what I can afford instead of single KS game
Hey Ghost. Ascendancy is a pretty different game from all of those. I'd suggest checking out some of the gameplay clips, and of course the thoughts from Chris after his session this weekend. Hope we can earn your pledge!
Good video. Regarding Fighting Fantasy Adv. I own most of the books and it's a solid system, very approachable and easy. I don't know about the game though but if you don't own the books give it a shot. I don't intend to back the game because why should I? I own the books. I also own the first Games Workshop game of Warlock of the Firetop Mountain from the 80's.
Mistwind reminded me a little bit of Fractured Sky and I am glad that just did the PM pledge. This will be the first game that I am backing in months. Mistwind for me seems to be better or at least fits my style. It has cleaner aesthetics (looking at the Fractured Sky lost myself with so many colours despite being beautiful) and is much less expensive. The simple gameplay but crunchy won me. Maybe I pick the retail version of Fractured Sky but since I am backing Mistwind probably I won't care.
I was surprised that Fighting Fantasy Adventures did not do well the first time. I thought the name of the creator would sell the game. I guess we saw that isn't the case, especially when the genre is totally different from what he designed previously.
I really like how Mistwind looks that I jumped on board. I even like how they have high tiers for cosmetic stuff but not to gimp your access to game content. I feel like there should be more of that: wanna pay $300 to be included in the game? I love that. Doesn't change how you play the game but it's an extra boost for the designer's funds.

I was already super turned off by Farms because the nukes etc and the way they promoted but once I saw they were violating copyright in the name of "parody" I was super done. There campaign has been suspended by Kickstarter and they have claimed they have a rich lawyer who can help them but that comes across terrible too. Pass on this one.

Kreel Manor doesn't give me nearly as much feeling of exploration and "world" as I'd want from a kilforth game
