Pro tip for anyone who wants to try this. You can use the illustration tablet at the beginning. It won’t take up a tile, your sims can keep it in their inventory, and your can queue up like 8 paintings at a time.
Absolutely! I did this challenge myself a few months ago (idk when it started trending in the sim groups but I picked it up off of CallMeKevin) and I did photography for awhile, then the slab, then painting. Made my character a slob so they could pee in the shower. I did eventually end the challenge with a two story house, spouse and kids. Each tile cost 1k. Just imagine how expensive that house was lol.

You can max out the photography skill in less than 3 hours (in game) just by making the Sim take pictures of the walls with their phone. You can then sell the stack of photos. My Sim got around §2000 just from the photos she took to max out the skill. I might reward her with a high-end toilet before she even needs one. 😂
Rather than torture my sims this way I tend to accidentally torture them by agreeing when the Sims 3 sim wants to have a baby too often and overwhelm them with small children

The bed reminds me of the 3D rendered bed from that one tumblr post where a guy texted his landlord a photo of his room referencing the wall color and the landlord, unprompted, 3D rendered a model of the tenants bed and sent it back to him. He 3D rendered the dog too.

"Can we sell food that we cooked?" You can sell wedding cakes, I believe. And if you can get fresh cooked food or drinks into your family inventory, sometimes the game will let you sell it. Not all the time though, which is weird, so it might be a bug.
Love this challenge and yes you can 1 x 1 using the sketch pad but understandably under the pressure you didn’t think of it I can see you head smacking now 😂

Once you have enough money you should have bought a woodworking table $1800 you can build a lot of the home items that you would have needed to furnish the house and or make a few planters and or other things to sell.
4 years later and that pile of bags in the corner still chilling. Okay maybe not that long lol. But hear me out.. it would be much more ecstatically pleasing if you just removed all of them from the shot.
Aka: the Artist challenge. We really do start out in a box, spending $$$$$ on supplies and maybe selling it for $. Oh and of course having a giant fear of failure and needing therapy, but maybe thats just me 😅😇

When your sim first starts painting, start with the smallest painting cause you're gonna lose money either way at least once

You should use Torch as a test dummy for different versions of this challenge!! Use different skill building items and see which one works the best.
