Major correction: Taiwan is the major source of the chips because the world's 70% production is done by TSMC and not assembling, the leading firms of the US use fabless techniques to use these TSMC's chips.

I've heared a story where chinese engineers have tried exactly that by disassembling one of ASML's machines, however when they tried to reassemble the machine it did not work anymore!

And I always wanted to join asml as chemical engineer and microelectronics engineer.
