Never knew this was about. Elvis. Have heard it a few times but didn't really listen. Thanks for telling us. Great. I really enjoyed it beautiful. His voice was like velvet at times. Yes he made us feel special. And gone far too soon for sure. Such a very special person.he was.
Black Velvet is such a beautiful tribute to Elvis...the brilliant lyrics capture the essence of Elvis and his impact on our lives. "Every word ...every song he sang was for you"... truth! Thank you Elvis for sharing your beautiful voice...charisma,,, kind heart and oh yes that " little boy smile"❤❤❤ Thank you Rene for keeping his legacy and spirit alive.
Hey Rene ,one of my favorite tributes to Elvis ever ! I was 19 years old when this came out ,and never really knew why I loved and connected it so much at the time I never really listened to the lyrics. It only became apparent to me about 20 years later .omg ! I've been an Elvis fan for 47 years and never realised how many tributes across the board ,where about Elvis .I love all of the tributes dedicated to Elvis . My favourites being from ,bill medley Freddie Mercury, and so many other artists past and present .thanks rene ,for reminding us all of the impact Elvis had and still has on almost every musician. I know for a fact the lyrics. EVERY SONG HE EVER SANG WAS FOR YOU " mean so much to everyone. No denying it's just true. It's a feeling no other artist could ever bring to the world .love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Lynda, thank you for sharing your beautiful story! It’s amazing how Elvis’s music and the tributes to him still resonate so deeply. I’m glad my video brought back these feelings for you-his legacy truly lives on through fans like you! ❤️🎶
This is fantastic. When this song first came out I didn’t realize it was about Elvis. I realized later on. You are so spot on as is Alannah Myles. Elvis was spiritual and he did make you feel as if he was singing to you alone. Listening to you break this down and reading the words, It’s perfect but also breaks my heart. I wonder how many artists had songs written about them. Really does show Elvis’s impact on the world. Thank you Rene. ❤
I was a teenager when this song came out and had no idea it was about Elvis back then. I love this song even more now that I know its meaning. Thanks Rene. This will be very interesting to see other tributes to Elvis.❤
I have heard this song many times through out my life but never really knew it was about Elvis...that was amazing and will listen to it in a different way now thank you love your tributes and memories of Elvis.
Hi Rene, I knew this song was about Elvis but until now I never caught the reference in the first lines about Mississippi and the mama and baby being Gladys and Elvis
No, I did not know that song was for Elvis but I loved it One of the righteous brothers wrote a song about him too right after he died Bill I think I’m gonna live forever in our hearts and no one can ever replace him. No one.
The first verse refers to the 1930s…(Elvis was born in 1935). A Victrola was a record player. Jimmy Rogers was a popular country singer in the 30s. Another note…..When Elvis first started out, not everyone owned a TV. Radio was when most people first heard him, so didn’t know what he looked like. Some people thought he was black.
How did I miss that this song was about Elvis…Have heard it many times, but never made the connection…It’s so obvious when you listen to the words, couldn’t be about anyone else…Thank you so much for playing this great tribute to Elvis, and helping me make the connection..Good one Ren’e..🌹🌹🌹
