The Op to Serial Experiments Lain so good. My daughter was listening to the song and I never even showed her the anime she just found the song and I just walk in her room like "You know what this song is from" she just dead ass looked at me and said "Let me guess some anime shit you watch back in the 1900s" . I was almost deceased on the spot, but still happy she likes the song 😂😂
A Cruel Angel's Thesis will always be one of my favourites. The show is insane and a little hard to understand, but that song hits so hard, especially with the visuals.
"Not the vibes I was expecting" pretty much sums up Evangelion. "Yay! Giant robot fighting anime!" "You fool. You damned fool. You thought you were going to watch giant robots fight? Allow me give you a dissertation on emotional trauma." Also, "Fukai Mori"? Man, great choice, the best out of all the Inuyasha EDs.
If you liked "Duvet" the intro to Lain, I reckon you might also like "Monoral" by Kiri, it's the intro to Ergo Proxy. They are both very different, but at the same time also quite similar, I don't know how to explain it lol. They both just fit very well with their respective shows.
Dude, I’ve never hear anyone ever react to Lain’s intro before. It has been one of my favorite songs for literal decades now. If you dig that mellow vibe, you might like another song from another Abe made anime. Hit up the intro and outro to Haibane Renmei.
And I've never heard or read anyone on TH-cam mention Haibane Renmei! I mean, sure if I specifically look for them I can find two or three reviews, but I've never seen anyone casually mention it neither in videos nor in the comments.
@@PlugInKali Same, dude. Seeing people mention such overlooked anime is a good feeling. Also, I've always loved ABe's style. I bet you guys know Texhnolyze too. It's ending theme is probably one of my most favorite, especially since it's good to see Gackt in anime.

Some day the OPs and ED from Detective Conan will get the attention they deserve. Until then, Unmei no Roulette Mawashite will still be my ringtone. (Nazo is pretty good, too. And anything by Mai Kuraki is sure to be a bop.)
Samurai Shamploo episode 23 has a alternative ending, worth reacting too. Its called Tsutchie - Fly. The OP for Serial Experiments Lain is indeed really good. I have watched only about half the anime you showed in this vid, but I remember all the EDs and OPs still.
i keep loving your videos on reaction to op/eds with your friends & this idea of going back to "old school" 80/90s/early 2000s anime op/eds was super refreshing to see. as expected those times have a totally different sound and vibe but are not any less iconic and great than op/eds today. really loved seeing all the nostalgic names popping up and as always, the banter was funny. keep it up! :D
Surprised no one's suggested the first Spy x Family ED, Comedy by Gen Hoshino shit's such a bop, can't think of an ED/OP that's been more of a vibe for me
Dang nothing but bangers in this video, great selection whoever is compiling these for you guys. As always love the energy and I hope you guys do end up listening to more of the samurai champloo ost in the future!
You guys should check out hunter×hunter's ED Just Awake. Various genres are incorporated into just ONE song. Includes metal, electronic, jazz, pop, punk, etc. It's better to listen to the full-time version instead of the short time in the ED version.
Quite honestly this whole series is just such an extremely cozy good vibe. Hanging out, jamming to classics, experiencing new songs. What's not to enjoy!
You need to show them _Eden of the East._ Particularly the OP, who's music is taken directly from an _Oasis_ song, and who's art direction is out of this world.
i really think yall should check out the "Oshi no Ko" opening, the genre changes are insane and the full version has crazy visuals, it's also sung by someone you guys have reacted to and loved! also the "Magical Destroyers" OP and ED both go insanely hard with sick visuals and an ending in all english, you guys would really like em both!!
Unfortunately don't know of many pure hip-hop anime songs other than Nujabes... Another ending y'all may dig is Blood Blockade Battlefront ED2 - love the slap bass in it

Oh man Reckless Fire from Scryed, anything from GTO, Initial D, Get Backers, Jing: King of Bandits. Tons of great music in those especially with the openings
Kinda surprised Ghost in the Shell:SAC OP or ED didn't make it in with what was basically an adult swim greatest hits video. All of these are mad nostalgic for me and yeah man, I also remember fallen asleep to this stuff on the couch back 20+ years ago. I still remember to the first time I stayed up past midnight as a kid, I was watching adult swim and ended up witch hunter robin when I was like 8 or something. At that time it felt so cool and mature and kinda scary.
Another great ending with a lot of soul behind it is the first ending to Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans. It's called orphan no namida and goes hard.
if you guys ever react to anime OST's, i definitely recomend Vinland Saga OST. it's majestic af Some ones i recommend: father and son tenderness mourning the hero and most defineitly dagger
Oh I didn't think we were going back on these! You should check out the OP from Hellsing (the older one in I think the 90's, not the remake), the OP from Martian Successor Nadesco, and the OP for Last Exile. All jams I listened to constantly in high school. The whole sound track for Hellsing and Last Exile have some especially good tracks.
Yuyu hakusho or ghost fighter ost probably the first ever anime theme I've heard when I was young... And Inuyasha ending song every heart was the most memorable

More jazz-funky - The Other Side of the Wall from Princess Principal and Flare from Arifureta (both by Void_Chords).
There's an anime called Odd Taxi that has a character that only speaks by rapping, though I'm not sure if it's considered part of the OST. There's also a fair amount of rapping, including rap battles, in the anime Paripi Koumei (Ya Boi Kongming).
The singer and guitar player on the Serial Experiments Lain OP (Jasmine and Steve Rodgers) are the son and daughter of Paul Rodgers (the singer from Free and Bad Company).
inuyasha was like, my first *real* anime for me growing up, (pokemon and sailor moon aside, i was too young to really appreciate them besides "ooo cartoon flashy lights") and hearing the ed for the first time in well over 15 years hit me with the nostalgia hammer so hard i started crying as soon as the first chord hit.
please react to "Pallet" from Mikanzil and PSYQUI, it's not an anime song but it's so uncredible with piano that do an absurd base, bass with solo, guitar with solo and a very hard drum.
since it doesnt seem like anyone mentioned it the op for yu yu hakusho is in two languages one of the many of the era that when it came to the states was properly translated and works in english as well as in japanese
any anime that has the name Shinichiro Watanabe(Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Terror in Resonance, Kids on Slope, Space Dandy etc) added to its production has great OST....that guy IS music. Dude is so obsessed with creating incredible OST that he heard Sigur Ros once and said "that song felt like 2 boys just destroyed a city and is looking at the ruins of it" and made an anime with that plot and to make the OST feel like that he sent Yoko Kanno(1 of the Top 5 anime OST producer) to Iceland to get that type of music. His animes are basically album selling scheme 😂
If you keep the road trip back in the days, here are some recommandation : - Tenjo tenge - GTO - Ayakashi Japanese Classic Horror - Wolf's Rain - Witch Hunter Robin - Gantz - Basilisk - Air Gear
13:13 Looks like they finally seem to understand. That's great because they seem like honest men. I wish they checked out Gunslinger Girl's opening though. Among all the 00s openings people seem to check out, they never seem to address that one.
Here me out… Eureka Seven Opening 2 (rap) Ergo Proxy op & ed Mob Psycho op (all are bangers honestly) Paranoia Agent op FLCL op Dorohedoro op Outlaw Star op Mushishi Zoku Shou Op 1 Record of Lodoss War Opening [HD](old op uploaded by Cthulhu) And the recent One Piece op
If you ever do another, here's a few personal favourites I'd love to see you guys react to! Azumi Uehara- Aoi Aoi Kono Hoshi Ni (Detective Conan) Suga Shikao- 19 Sai (xxxholic) Tommy heavenly6- Papermoon (Soul Eater) Koji Wada- Butterfly (Digimon, but was unfortunately omitted in 4kids dub)
Wonderful reaction, just dropping off some bangers. Kiznaivers OP by boom boom satellites is goosebump inducing, pretty sad story behind its creation too. Air Gear's OP chain is a head banger. In 2020 the band even made a remastered version. (Something about the original still hits harder for me though) Dorohedoro's OP welcome to chaos is a trippy head banger Dororo's OP is a banger Everone has been woken up Paranoia Agents OP at 3am, satoshi kinda wanted it to wake up the crowd who's time slot the show was in. Nevertheless another banger. Staple stable, bakemonogatari's OP is great, though the whole monogatari series has great music (everyone has heard renai circulation from it) And these may not be anime openings but asian beats culture's mandeer would play during adult swim blocks and is a dope eastern inspired beat. And Made in Abyss has a song called tomorrow from its ost that is godlike. That's all I'll drop for now, hopefully you find something you like. Be well, peace.
Another amazing soundtrack is Space Dandy! Which is, just like Bebop and Champloo, directed by Shinichiro Watanabe. Some tracks to check out: * Want to Know [知りたい] - Makura Izumi x mabanua * Dandy in Love - Shutoku Mukai * Stardust Pipeline [星屑 のパイプライン] - Junk Fujiyama
Dawg Evangelion's opening gets me sweating every time😂 so good. But a lot of these were bops, I gotta search em up. Also the Inuyasha ending always reminds me of "Shout Baby" by Ryokuoushoku Shakai (My Hero ending 7). Their voices sound so similar at the chorus.
Highly recommend all of Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) op and ed songs. The anime has really good late 90s Japanese rock songs. I especially like the Fourth Avenue Cafe by L’arc~en~Ciel and 1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou by Siam Shade
I even watch those older anime including Astro Boy, Ghost In The Shell, Orphan, The Vision of Escaflowne, Prétear, .hack//Legend of the Twilight, The Irresponsible Captain Tylor and much more
Still loving the videos, I still have to say ACCA’s opening is my main recommendation, but I would also like to throw in Baccano’s intro as well. I think they are both pretty good and worth a listen.
Classic songs! I also enjoy the opening to Martian Successor Nadesico, "Get to Burning", and the opening to the original Boogiepop Phantom, "Yuudachi". SO GOOD.
You guys have to react to Samurai Champloo OSTs, they are all bangers. Or heck, react to Nujabes songs. He collabs with lots of classic hip-hop artists like CYNE
Ah, SE:Lain... the show that got me back into anime as it made me think 'wow, a show can do this' and I've never looked back. It's one that breaks people who try to break it down whilst watching - you need to let it wash over you and understand it later, so the OP matches it perfectly. It's one of my top ten animes I wish I could recommend to people, but can't... it's sister anime "Haibane Renmei" is a much more approachable series.
Funny, you wanted to know who played the Serial Experiments Lain op, the song is "Duvet" and is by BoA, who also plays the very next song you reacted to, the Inu Yasha ending called "Do as Infinity". They were very prolific in the anime openings and endings around the turn of the millennium.
If I could recommend a few. I'd recommend: Ghost of the Shell Stand Alone Complex - Opening. Outlaw Star - Opening And Ending Death Note - Opening And Ending Fullmetal Alchemist - Opening and Ending Trigun Stampede - New Series - Opening. Mobile Suit Gundam Wing - Opening
An opening with hip-hop (and maybe even a bit reggaeton) vibes that is less well-known is Ayakashi: Japanese Classic Horror "Heat Island". The TV version is great and the full version plays around a lot more

Even though he's been gone for a while now, rest in peace Nujabes.
extremely under-the-radar and under appreciated: Gravity - Wolf's Rain ending, Maaya Sakamoto
yessss im so glad evangelion is in here
and lain too!!!!
inuyasha was like, my first *real* anime for me growing up, (pokemon and sailor moon aside, i was too young to really appreciate them besides "ooo cartoon flashy lights") and hearing the ed for the first time in well over 15 years hit me with the nostalgia hammer so hard i started crying as soon as the first chord hit.
please react to "Pallet" from Mikanzil and PSYQUI, it's not an anime song but it's so uncredible with piano that do an absurd base, bass with solo, guitar with solo and a very hard drum.
since it doesnt seem like anyone mentioned it the op for yu yu hakusho is in two languages one of the many of the era that when it came to the states was properly translated and works in english as well as in japanese
Next time I say, show them the comparison between the old opening from OP and the new remastered one.
any anime that has the name Shinichiro Watanabe(Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Terror in Resonance, Kids on Slope, Space Dandy etc) added to its production has great OST....that guy IS music.
My subsEar burst a little when the soundtrack sounded different before the singer even started 😂😭
I feel like you guys would really like the opening song for Air Gear. Kinda sad to not see it included here.
If you keep the road trip back in the days, here are some recommandation :
- Tenjo tenge
- GTO
- Ayakashi Japanese Classic Horror
- Wolf's Rain
- Witch Hunter Robin
- Gantz
- Basilisk
- Air Gear
13:13 Looks like they finally seem to understand. That's great because they seem like honest men.
I wish they checked out Gunslinger Girl's opening though. Among all the 00s openings people seem to check out, they never seem to address that one.
Idk if this has been suggested before but CORE PRIDE by UVERworld from Blue Exorcist is an absolute BOP and was ahead of it’s time
You should check out the opening for Revolutionary Girl Utena. I always think of that show as a spiritual sibling to Evangelion
Bro am I the only one who caught this man calling yuyu hakusho "yo hockey show"
Inuyasha ed 2 will always and forever give me nostalgia. Brings me right back to my childhood.
Here me out…
Eureka Seven Opening 2 (rap)
Ergo Proxy op & ed
Mob Psycho op (all are bangers honestly)
Paranoia Agent op
FLCL op
Dorohedoro op
Outlaw Star op
Mushishi Zoku Shou Op 1
Record of Lodoss War Opening [HD](old op uploaded by Cthulhu)
And the recent One Piece op
If you ever do another, here's a few personal favourites I'd love to see you guys react to!
Azumi Uehara- Aoi Aoi Kono Hoshi Ni (Detective Conan)
Suga Shikao- 19 Sai (xxxholic)
Tommy heavenly6- Papermoon (Soul Eater)
Koji Wada- Butterfly (Digimon, but was unfortunately omitted in 4kids dub)
Wonderful reaction, just dropping off some bangers.
Kiznaivers OP by boom boom satellites is goosebump inducing, pretty sad story behind its creation too.
Air Gear's OP chain is a head banger. In 2020 the band even made a remastered version. (Something about the original still hits harder for me though)
Dorohedoro's OP welcome to chaos is a trippy head banger
Dororo's OP is a banger
Everone has been woken up Paranoia Agents OP at 3am, satoshi kinda wanted it to wake up the crowd who's time slot the show was in. Nevertheless another banger.
Staple stable, bakemonogatari's OP is great, though the whole monogatari series has great music (everyone has heard renai circulation from it)
And these may not be anime openings but asian beats culture's mandeer would play during adult swim blocks and is a dope eastern inspired beat.
Some tracks to check out:
* Want to Know [知りたい] - Makura Izumi x mabanua
* Dandy in Love - Shutoku Mukai
* Stardust Pipeline [星屑 のパイプライン] - Junk Fujiyama
Nujabes R.I.P 🙏🏾🖤
Good reaction, i love it
Very very very Good Selection 🖤
Dawg Evangelion's opening gets me sweating every time😂 so good. But a lot of these were bops, I gotta search em up.
Also the Inuyasha ending always reminds me of "Shout Baby" by Ryokuoushoku Shakai (My Hero ending 7). Their voices sound so similar at the chorus.
Yes, please, check out the osts for Samurai Champloo, all masterpieces, RIP Nujabes.
Whoever picked these tracks has good taste fr
Let's all love Lain!let's all love Lain!let's all love Lain!
Nujabes is a legend, rest in peace.
If you guys really liked instrumentals like Tank, I'd strongly recommend the original Trigun opening.
im BEGGING for you to listen to the kokkoku opening that shit slaps
Highly recommend all of Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) op and ed songs. The anime has really good late 90s Japanese rock songs. I especially like the Fourth Avenue Cafe by L’arc~en~Ciel and 1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou by Siam Shade
I even watch those older anime including Astro Boy, Ghost In The Shell, Orphan, The Vision of Escaflowne, Prétear, .hack//Legend of the Twilight, The Irresponsible Captain Tylor and much more
Not Inuyasha being labelled as "Dragon Ball" though
Still loving the videos, I still have to say ACCA’s opening is my main recommendation, but I would also like to throw in Baccano’s intro as well. I think they are both pretty good and worth a listen.
Classic songs! I also enjoy the opening to Martian Successor Nadesico, "Get to Burning", and the opening to the original Boogiepop Phantom, "Yuudachi". SO GOOD.
You should let them react to the samurai Champloo ost or just random anime osts. Some good reccomendedations would be arurian dance and who’s theme!
They are not the same "BoA", even though the name are coincidentally the same
If I could recommend a few. I'd recommend:
Ghost of the Shell Stand Alone Complex - Opening.
Outlaw Star - Opening And Ending
Death Note - Opening And Ending
Fullmetal Alchemist - Opening and Ending
Trigun Stampede - New Series - Opening.
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing - Opening
First time seeing a comment mentioning Outlaw Star. I love that anime.
@@scorpioninpink Same. =] It was such a great anime.
Thank you for showing them Yu Yu Hakusho because it’s so underrated. The endings are all great too.
An opening with hip-hop (and maybe even a bit reggaeton) vibes that is less well-known is Ayakashi: Japanese Classic Horror "Heat Island". The TV version is great and the full version plays around a lot more
Banger after banger after banger this episode! For some hip-hop anime songs I'd recommend Yasuke's op and Soul Eater ending 3
16:34 he's so right. Literally passed out to this banger as a kid, just about all pf the Inuyasha endings a vibe.
