Overlord is my favourite anime by far. I've always loved large, in depth world building with fleshed out characters. It's an amazing plot, dark fantasy, and blows other Isekai's out of the water. After I first watched the first season, I went and read the respective light novel chapters for season 2, then watched it, then did the same for 3 and 4. The novels are obviously more in depth, as more details can be put down, and animation studio's have to cut down on monologues, dialogue etc to fit the time constraints. If you love the show when you watch it, I definitely recommend giving the novels a read, it makes what's shown in the anime just that much better and darker.
I’m sure I would’ve liked it more if I read the novels, but honestly, the anime kinda sucks after the first season. I hear everywhere that the novel is great, but if that’s the case, they must’ve adapted the source material terribly because the anime just confusingly jumps from one place to another and leaves you with way more questions than answers.
@@emeraldfinder5 that's kind of a weird take. There's a lot of world building after season 1 and from that point forward all the way to the s4 finale you can see a lot of things interweaving. If anything the only critique is that the anime glosses over a lot of stuff from the novel, but such is any adaptation ever.
@@ricksaburai spending half a season dealing with a betrayal, then half a season on an arc about lizards making love, then suddenly half a season stamping out corruption in some kingdom from the shadows. That doesn’t feel smooth, it just feels like they’re throwing everything at the wall.

Fun fact about the openings and endings. All of them have technically been done by the same two groups. Openings one, two and four, along with ending three were all performed by OxT. Endings one and two, and opening three were all performed by the duo of Myth & Roid, while ending four (your fav) was performed solo by one of the Myth & Roid members. Now we are all hoping this trend will continue in the upcoming feature film covering the entirety of the Holy Kingdom Invasion arc taking place in lieu of Season 5!
Funny fact one of the other reactors was so taken by a view of Albedo without knowing what anime series she was in went and bought her body pillow. He was pleasantly surprised when he started viewing the series. Overlord can get dark at times but you're getting used to the darkness with Solo Leveling. The art work in the endings is done by the artist who also does the LN artwork. My favorite anime so happy you'll be viewing this in the near future.
Ending song one L.L.L. Is awesome. I love how, if you read the translated lyrics, how they clearly seem to be coming from Albedo’s perspective as she sings about her love-I jokingly call it the Yandere National Anthem.

Ainz the skeleton aka Bone Daddy voice in dub fits perfectly with his character design. And if you gonna worship Albedo, you better also worship Ainz cause this girl is mad crazy for the big bone.
Gotta give it to the creator for making albedo in a way that attracts everyone even when I was not that interested in her at first yet still I would watch her for some time... And I don't even know why... It's like it just happens automatically... She really is something else 😍😍😍
I agree. She's been my wallpaper(animated) on PC for 5 years now. And my favorite female character for 6 years(since I first watched Overlord), out of all animes. There are many other characters I really like, but Albedo is the best(Waifu)👍
8:04 I feel like the whole Nazarick crew is like a pantheon of fickle gods, that descended onto earth. The whole story of Overlord reminds me of myths from all over the ancient world. I think that's the best way to look at it. Items from gods wreak havoc in regular people's lives, gods taking offense at every mistake of regular people, sometimes gods are in good mood and you're not only spared, but also blessed. Even gods making children with regular people is a thing, though only in the past for now.
I absolutely love these endings and you can more songs like this if you react to Re:Zero openings and endings because they are made by the some of the same artists.

The art style for these outros is simply superb. Both the music and visuals actually make the outros some of my favourite Overlord content.
