Nice spreader to add to the farm. Glad you got the B Farmall situated. I appreciate parents who take the time to let their children observe/participate in different projects. That's where we all got our start. A Priest based his homily years ago on parental responsibility in teaching children basic life skills.
Just started watching but had to comment. "And the professional camera man is back." The way he said it made me chuckle. But he did a great job as usual! That was awesome you were able to get the parts without special ordering everything.
Farmers have to be jacks and jills of all trades. Welders, masons, plumbers etc. just need to remember how you fixed something the last time. TH-cam is a great resource for fixing things.
Liked this video because you are teaching your son and sharing a wrenching video that is always required on a farm! 👍 More wrenching videos are welcome!👍
Great video. Glad you are teaching your son to do things. I was an engineer but 90% of my skill at fixing things was learned on the farm, our family and working for a cousin. When you're out baling and rain is on the way, you learn to fix stuff fast to finish. Great job with you boy. God Bless you and your family.
Oh they grow so fast ,it was just yesterday that Justin was starting to run the tractor by himself . Nice repair on the B . One of my all time favorite tractors . Great video , God Bless
Cant believe you found parts that fit. Usually when i try it i have to try 4 places. Nice old equipment. Dosent cost to much and your not in debt. Allan have you been kicking around fixing some of the old buildings for machine storage or modify your shop to work in . Hate to see you working outside and i know weather is cold most of time. Your a great mechanic give u space to work on things in cold months. Best wishes
A quick tip for removing bearing race ways. weld a bead around the inside of the race way. it shrinks them, and they will nearly drop out. I use this method all the time when removing axle hub bearing raceways. love your channel.
That manure spreader sure looks tiny behind the International but it works just the same. It is very handy to have two spreaders. We do. One can keep cleaning without stopping. It works fine.
So very interesting watching, listening and you teaching your son the ropes just like my Grandfather did for me on the farm at his age. When you are young like that it stays with you all your life. professional camera mans back, so funny, he does a great job.
Get the boys to prep and paint it. It would be a great video and the tractor would look much better even if it's not perfect. Love you videos. Keep them coming.!!!
Nice to have two spreaders hauling. Also nice to have a professional camera man so dad can drive uninterrupted. Nice 514 NH. I use a 520 and it’s proven to be very reliable. Nice to have the T chain. Easy to work with.
Allen have you ever watched justva few acres farm channel?? Pete is a farmall wealth of information and he loves to take all his farmalls apart in the wintertime... great family channel
2 smaller spreaders are definitely better than one big one, as long as there's more than 1 person. nice you could find bearings for the B. when we overhauled the 930 it was a nightmare finding parts "mostly gaskets." Good ol lucas keeps many a leaky gearbox running here too 👌👌🤣
I work on a lot of equipment. I would say your probably correct on the plugs on there. The bottom one is the drain the middle one is the level and the top one you can't get out is where you fill it at.
That was a great video really shows people that with a little hardwork and sweat and grease you can keep a 80 yo farmall b working safely and efficiently for your needs . Why buy some fancy new yard tractor with a monster payment attached 🤔
Your welcome. But thank you for sharing. I do look forward for your videos. Thank you for sharing. Your young Farmers have the best teacher.. "Dad" you share your knowledge for success for the future. I found the Usage of silicone is less is more...
Welcome back! Missed yous! Love the new camera man!! I was going to say, pack it with corn head grease in it! I suspect that you're right about the plugs for the oil, only makes sense! Maybe put a little heat on that upper plug! I'm a fixer, and when my son was growing up I tried to teach him about stuff, but he could care less!BUT he started working at P&G and they have to fix machinery, so one day he called me and said Dad I owe you an apology, I said for what, he said remember when you tried to teach me how to fix stuff and I could have cared less, well at work, we have to fix stuff and I don't know one thing about wrenches and such, I should have paid attention!! YUP! It comes in handy!
There are four seasons in every year and everything a farmer does in the Spring, Summer, and Fall determines whether or not he or she will make it through the Winter. Three very important ingredients must come together as one: The farmer - Mother Nature - and The Good Lord.
The only thing I don’t like about a single beater is if you have a lot of hay in your manure it tends to throw clumps out. Of course like most farmers I tend to overload which doesn’t help.
It's crazy to think that the steering bearing in that tractor is probably original,,The quality and craftsmanship of components made back in the day is beyond belief ,,With all our CAD and computer design 3D printed components we have today,,The best we are able to atcheve is a part lasting maybe 5 or 10 years,,And nothing made now is serviceable or rebuildable,,All throw away crap,,
You might want to let people know to check that their still subscribed for some reason TH-cam is dropping people off all the time and if you don’t look to see if you’re still subscribed, you’ll find that you’re not

Mentoring the next generation of farmers. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's awesome you take time to teach your kids. You are a good man
Yes. Calm and patient.
Lots of those old tractors had leather seals back then..it's good you can fix things yourself..pretty handy 😊 🐂🐃🐄
This country would be a better place if every kid worked on old tractors with Dad. 👍🚜🇺🇸🙂
That's for sure.
Always something to fix.
Just started watching but had to comment.

Great to see the kids taking interest in all aspects of the farm. You are teaching life lessons. Great job!!
Liked this video because you are teaching your son and sharing a wrenching video that is always required on a farm! 👍
More wrenching videos are welcome!👍
It would be fun to see how your Farmall B would do in a tractor pulling contest.
I pulled it a few years ago, but I think jordan is going to pull it this year.
Man I tell ya you got all kinds of talent great kids great family thumbs up 👍

Thank you all for sharing your farm and family life, it is very refreshing...We know farming can be stressful...Thanks again!!

A small repair keeps that tractor going minor expense and some time beats having newer stuff that you can’t work on yourself great video

Nice video. Seemed like me learning in the late 50s, early 60s. No u tube.

Redundant equipment is always a good idea and finishing a repair job without parts left over is a job well done.
Very enjoyable video
Luckily, manure happens! Nice clover planting.
Great video. Farm life, never boring. Thanks for sharing.
Allen have you ever watched justva few acres farm channel?? Pete is a farmall wealth of information and he loves to take all his farmalls apart in the wintertime... great family channel
Respect from Africa,Zimbabwe.I grew up on a farm in my country and I appreciate how father's teach their little boys to do everything.respect✌️🫡❤️🙏
The top one is probably a breather
What a year for skeeters!
That clover plot has deer magnet written all over it.
It’s kinda funny how most of the people I follow and videos I watch are of farmers fixing one thing or another great video!
Very thoughtful, wonderful man

Love this thanks for sharing

A little bit of red paint on that tractor and you can go in the next parade, take care. 👍🇨🇦🚜❤️p.s. no tractors were hurt in the making of this video.
Always interesting videos
Great that you all work so hard together. Bless you all.

Hi Alan great job well explained good old tractor with a lot of life left in her yet .All the best from the U K .Alec.
Too get the fill plug out, find a nut that fits over it and weld it in the centre then undo using the nut 👍
Hey Allen,,great tutorial. Thank you sir.

Very nice job and God bless y'all
Great job!!!
Some really good help they Thank you for the wonderful video 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Great video!
Awesome video I always wondered how those front ends were put together now I'm not intimidated to do my B front end ty
Good video
Top could also be some type of breather. Heat expands oil increasing pressure. Prevent bottom seal from blowing out and leaking .
You appear to be very patient, a great benefit to your family. Maybe learned it from your dad. Have to be patient with horses 😊
Hahaha 😅😅😅
Great video, very informative 😊
Now you can turn that old manure spreader into a firewood hauler.

Probably too late , but I like corn head grease in them gearer boxes . Works great
I've done it for years.
thank you
Bottom plug is drain, middle is level, top is fill.
The c3 on bearing is just a prefix like if it has seals shields etc
What may be a "check" plug could actually be a drain plug? Well....I think that you answered the question that I posed earlier in the video.
Clever thumbnail Title 😂
Back in the day when I was a mechanic working on cars and had a leaking steering box we just filled them half and half 80/90 gear oil and grease.
There are four seasons in every year and everything a farmer does in the Spring, Summer, and Fall determines whether or not he or she will make it through the Winter. Three very important ingredients must come together as one: The farmer - Mother Nature - and The Good Lord.
Wow! You guys sure run a heavy tractor on that little spreader
It was the only tractor that wasn't hooked up to something else at the moment.
At 18:25 who needs a Harbour Freight press when you have a hammer that big?? Smooth take down.
Perfect for installing everything from trim nails to train rails!
Cool 😎
The only thing I don’t like about a single beater is if you have a lot of hay in your manure it tends to throw clumps out. Of course like most farmers I tend to overload which doesn’t help.
Try Lucas hub oil it replaces gear oil in semi wheel bearings works great
If you have a welder run a bead on inside of race in 3 skips and when it cools it will shrink and fall out.
U should have jack stand under it for safty
I'm not sure if it showed up in all of the shots, but I did put one under it.
The gear box uses 80-90 oil.
If you want to get that top plug out just find a nut to fit over it and tack it
I would have filled them bearings full Plum full of Grease 2 plus run them in that oil
i think seeding the clover patch is more to attract deer than bees.
I wish i could work on a farm or been a farmer/rancher. Had a different life calling i guess.
The only piece of equipment New Holland won't stand behind!
Corn dossent need beeeeees to pollinate !

Farmall fanatic 51 on youtube might know
Try yesterdays tractor parts they have the parts.

Just proves a bigger hammer will fix anything.
When was the last time you checked the oil in the steering box?
A few years ago, when I replaced the worm gear bearing.
Probably never 😂
@@matthewklejeski6641 That's what l was thinking.
@@matthewklejeski6641 be nice to your brother🤣
