    Omgosh, you helped me so much! I just put together the Lexington PB500NX which is very similar to yours. Single person Assembly wasn’t bad but I know nothing about how to use it. You unlocked so many questions I had. Great instructional video! Loved it! Thank you!

    Thanks for psting this! I got the PB850 Pro Series yesterday. Got it put together and did the burn off. Today I'm smoking some St. Louis style and Baby Back ribs! I can't wait to taste them. It is so nice to see a girl who is into smoking! I was so amazed with the searing option with this smoker and that is why I got it. So now I can smoke and grill! I was really impressed with how searing hot this thing gets.

    Just built my 700fb and I wasn't sure about priming it, something in some fancier models. Just wanted to make sure I could get good results. About to start burn-in now. Thanks!

    You have done a great job on this video. I just bought a 700 FB1 and your video was a great help in priming ect. I would like to ask if you are happy with the hoppers that you are using and where you got them.
    Thanks

    Can you just pour the entire bag in the hopper and leave it, or do you just do a certain amount for each cook?

    Hi V i have a question. I have received my Pit bull 700fb.. Happy. Question is ,does your temp gauged on the lid , corresponded same with temp reading on hoper control ??? Mine was different during the burn off. I did same as your video went 30 min at 350 degrees my gauges on the lid showed 410 and on hoper temp showed 340 degree... then i went another 10 minuets at 400 degrees and my lid gauged showed 500 degrees and on hopper temp read out showed 400.degrees as i wanted .. Is this a concern?? which is a true reading??? I have purchased the Therm Pro thermometers for hope more accuracy temps when i start smoking . Thanks as i continue to look for more of your awesome videos .. .. Keep um a coming , with your awesome recipes.. Thanks Again.

    • @grillinwithv4028
      @grillinwithv4028  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply! The temp gauges would be different because the one on the panel is to the lower left of the grill, where the one on the lid is at the top center of the grill. Heat rises and since the burn pot is right underneath, the gauge on the lid will always show higher than the probe for the panel.

    Nice video showing the assembly of the grill. Don’t waste your time sifting pellets as when you pour them in the hopper you’re still gonna get dust and small pieces in there from the pellets rubbing together as they fall out of your bucket into the hopper and when the auger turns its gonna break some of them as they bind together falling into the auger hole.

    • @grillinwithv4028
      @grillinwithv4028  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for all the feedback! Funny enough, I haven't sifted any pellets since making this video. I realized quickly that there was no point.

    • @paulsq_
      @paulsq_ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m guessing you seen another TH-cam video where a guy sifts pellets and tells you that’ll keep the auger free of dust and I believe he used the term “fines” from clogging it?

    • @grillinwithv4028
      @grillinwithv4028  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, sure did... Now that I'm trying out the different PB pellets, I have been having to empty the hopper to try another wood flavour, there is no doubt that pouring pellets into the hopper and taking them out of the hopper creates all that dust and stuff anyway. There is no point to sifting lol!

    I'm confused, at about 15 minutes into your video, when you insert the grates, the drip can is on the left and hopper and controller are on the right. When you're done assembling they are reversed

    • @grillinwithv4028
      @grillinwithv4028  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry about this, I use my phone and have a front facing and rear facing camera. I didn't know how to invert the video at the time of filming, so it looks backwards. Sorry for the confusion!

      I've had so much fun with it this summer, a lot of it off camera unfortunately. I love everything about it, but I wish it came standard with the smoke stack and a broiler plate sliding rod like the other models. Most people have modified their 700FB's to have those two modifications.

    Your cooking grates are NOT cast iron. They are just welded mild steel wire, heavy gauge wire, but steel wire never the less...

    • @grillinwithv4028
      @grillinwithv4028  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Straight from Pit Boss website:
      "The Porcelain Coated Cast Iron Grates
      Our heavy-duty grates are porcelain coated cast iron instead of steel for several reasons:
      Better heat distribution (notice a theme?)
      Easier to clean
      Better to sear meat on (sticks less than steel)"
