Great job Aldryn. The one spec that disappoints here is the lack of a variable aperture. Hard to understand why DJI did not include it except for the need to protect the Mavic line of products.

I'm using Air 2 as well, I don't think its a worthy upgrade since the aperture is fixed f2.8 same as Air 2. But if someone who is newly going to buy, can straightaway buy the Air2s

I bought a second Mini a few months back and instantly regretted it because it struggles in the wind (I live in the UK and it's constantly windy here!). I've considered buying an Air 2 recently, but the Air 2s looks like a big upgrade and worth the wait to save up the extra cost. Thank you!

Shoot and I just bought the Mavic Air 2 a couple weeks ago!!! LOL. I'm a still keep it but its good to know that the battery and the Smart Controller works with the Air 2S. Might probably get this and use my Air 2 as a backup!!! GREAT REVIEW!!! New Subscriber!!!
The Air 2s is a nice upgrade to the original mavic pro. You also can’t go wrong with the mini 3 pro with its tiny size. If it’s just for TH-cam stuff and quick deployment, mini 3 pro might be easier as you backpack everything like me.
I’m buying my Air 2S from Best Buy. Which accident coverage would you recommend. Geek Squad drone protection at $399 for 2 years with no out of pocket money, or DJI care refresh at $169 for 2 years with out of pocket money with replacement. Do I need it at all? Maybe you can do a video on the differences and what you would recommend. Thank Bro.

Wow, Aldryn, I was wondering if the photos you posted from Catalina were from the new Air 2S, we now know, LOL. They sure packaged a lot more features into the 2S and the biggest being the 1” camera sensor and additional upward sensors. I hope they update the Air 2 with the camera zoom function like they did on the Mini 2. As always, you have produce a balanced and informative product review of the new DJI Air 2S. Thank You!
Thanks for this video! Definitely went over some of the questions I was having regarding this drone.. now all I have to wait is till after the holidays. Definitely packs a punch for the price range. Was contemplating getting the three but comparing price and everything this unit has to offer I think I'm better off sticking with the air2s.

I own a MA2, as my first "real" drone, for four months now and I can't say that I'm getting greedy to own the S2, nor that I'm disappointed I bought the MA2 at the time. I was afraid that the difference between the MA2 and the S2 would be bigger, with additional side- and/or top-sensors for instance, but to MHO the MA2 is still the best offer, to satisfy the novice drone pilot.

It goes without saying that it pretty much comes down to the camera. If you already own an Air 2, it's not worth the upgrade, IMO. If you do not yet own the Air 2 and are buying something new in that range, definitely go for the Air 2S. For the first time buyer, I'm not even sure the better camera is worth the extra $300.
