Well this was fun! We decided to have a massive crossover episode with Josh and Scott from the Loserkid Pinball Podcast. We had some TWIPY conversation as well as what we consider each of our most surprising things in 2023. We also discussed the current pinball market and how we see that changing in the future. It was a ton of fun to record with lots of laughs. Enjoy!

I would lose my mind for a Batman animated series. That's a theme that I would have to buy regardless of the game.
"What would happen with the end consumer in mind.." do you think that was Godzilla? Elwin even alluded to not going as crazy on his newer pins as he did with GZ.

Did you guys see that Stern is apparently sending around a Venom premium to former 1up TH-camrs? I haven't seen them review it yet. Only a couple of shorts with reviews to come, but dam if that isn't a desperate move if true! Never thought I would see that!
22:39 I've always taken my drop in rank and rank in general very seriously. Sometimes I forget that it's just a game. Same thing with pinball media. I consume a lot of it but it's supposed to be silly fun stuff. It's a game, it's jokes.
As far as new players, and game draw... when I saw night rider, my first pin as a kid, lights, and flippers drew me, not gameplay. Fast forward to the present, and new players try my turtles all the time. They don't care about gameplay, just suckered in by light shows, and call outs. Not once has a person said, "what's the point, or code?". They laugh, jump, yell, get excited, but never question the point of the game.
If you go to a basketball court where the crowd is too tough for your liking you take your ball and find a different place to play. You don’t demand that the gym gets shutdown for everyone.
I have no love for award events and the only awards that make sense are the awards where the focus is on the giving.
But as someone who had a bomb threat that nearly wiped out UK Open 2022 - I don't get the response to the alleged threat as the core reason for the changes announced. Also "we don't care about this award" but then state "here are the reasons why the vote is invalid with followers or lines drawn" WTF? Actions speak louder than words.
I wouldn't want to be the organisation that wins the new made up vote - boy are they in for some drama and given the reaction so far I struggle with previous reasoning. (again some folks might not think that this is about drama, its about control).
Back to pinball:
Scott makes a great point about Spooky - I own an original TNA and was disappointed by the build quality but we have had several spooky games in our club and TNA was the best of the lot. I don't have time to spanner games all day to dial them in and every game from spooky needs a lot of work.. Loads of issues with R&M, Alice Cooper, Halloween and now hearing from buddies who just got their Scooby Doo. And TNA 2 has been a disaster reliability IMO.
When I compare to CGC and BoF that shows that you can build a game that doesn't need alot of dialing in. I want buy spooky games but I need something that works out of the box, and the current game looks exciting.
I'm not going to listen but it's cool that you guys try to revive the Loserkids after they helped destroy what many enjoyed. You are truly good friends. So many people want them and TWIP to quietly go away.
Yanking Kaneda was a Bitch move!!! He deserves to win if that’s what the vote says!!! The guy works his ass off!!! He only has good intentions!!!
Loser kid pinballs efforts of destroying the twipys will be rewarded by flipping out.. there’s clearly an alliance here that was built around stopping kaneda.
