I played for a long time and invented different techniques and grips for snare sounds. My theory is Different grips for different trips and different motions are the potions. Some motions are for different tempos and sound. All depends on the song and style..thanks for the comment. And about my baby ARK. THANKS

It was good to see you again on Romeo's first solo album, your style and creativity suit Romeo's heavy prog style very well. Thanks for all the video releases, such as Djinn, Just Before the Dawn and this one. As it's the case with any studio-only project, the fan base sorely lacks the performance side of the music. Question: You don't use any protection on the left ear?

Thanks, and good question..fortunately I get hired for my sound and style in the last years..this is good because I can be more creative because usually that's why I got the call. With the Romeo albums, Mike basically writes the drum parts with me in mind so already it is comfortable. He is a drummer so if he programs,it is realistic and not like any guitarist trying to program something that a drummer can't really play. Mike programs drums on a demo and sends it to me and says, " Dude, just keep the kick patterns but do what you want with the rest and if I play a 32nd note drum fill idea, don't play triplets" ha ha. So I have acton if freedom and with my Linear drumming it works perfectly because between the kicks I can play bells, melodies, heavy, light etc. The musical drumming happens between the kick drums. You can really hear it on the second album I did with him War Of The Worlds part 2.
I use PROMARK REBOUND 5B LONG. Wood Tip. I just started using them this year and live em'. I used to use just 5B. These new sticks are great for everything.

My pick would be Gianni Pontillio from Pure Inc. He’s like a Swiss version of Chris Cornell (with all due respects). I saw you John with Randy and Mats touring with Yngwie and your drum solo was the highlight of the night
