Really wish these guys got more recognition. Everyone I've shown them to loves them. They're an amazing band and they've got what I consider to be the greatest metal vocalist of all time.
Years of seeing guitar dudes buy fucking massive racks with a stupid amount of gear only for it to sound like fuzz. Often the dude with the massive rack gear will be accompanied by a dude with nothing but a 5150 and a cab. 5150 guy( or JCM2000 or Switchblade or whatever) usually blows rack guy out of the water tone wise. I've been to a looot of gigs, man. This is usually how it turns out.
+Thomas Duchein You want a DVD? Let's buy shit from SX and go to their concerts so they have the money to film the DVD! Last CD was wrote and recorded in one month at Mike Romeo's house!
This is not a good argument to not releasing a DVD. There are many bands that have a DVD and which do not have the same as resources Symphony X have. So, this is a question of will not of resource.
Of course it is. They won't deliver less than they're capable of. And it takes resources that might not be avaliable or they have other priorities. We must not judge and support them!
I only said this because a friend of mine was at their gig at São Paulo and asked this same question at the M&G: And they said they had no money to make a DVD now! Record labels won't do anything!
I was so glad to hear when Michael stopped using those nasty Line6 heads live and started using his Engl’s. His live tone has been SOOO much better since.
When they came to Chile, i was working as stage crew/hand and i've meet the drum tech, wich calls himself snowflake (and i get to know why) and he is so sweeeeeet, i mean, what an amazing guy, probably one of the most kind person i have meet on a gig, he even teach me a lot of tricks and how he does the job, such a pleasure man.
Mi tecladista preferido. Los solos de éste tipo me han hecho arrodillar. Symphony X tiene un sabor muy particular y es la banda menos reconocida en la historia de la música grabada.
Michael Pinella is technically on a par with other virtuoso keyboardists. His first solo album is mind-blowing. Too bad he has always kept such a low profile.
Pinellas was the inventive brain in SymphonyX. Since 2010 the creative direction has been led only by Romeo and it has definitely twisted the band's magic and style. The last two albums are awful. I do miss SymphonyX's progressive and classical style. It would be extremely fascinating listening to Mr Pinella playing some piano masterpieces. I know he is a classically trained pianist. I hope he records a classical piano album someday.
They just got tired of playing neo classical metal for more than 15 years, the last 2 albums are far from awful, they're just not neo classical, bands need to move on, you can't play the same things forever. Symphony x is already very predictable in terms of the structure of a song and the singing, they had to make a change of style.
@@hopeisonlyadreamthat's true they needed to move on but I still prefer their earlier music. Guys like yngwie who never moved on kinda got left behind

100% right!!!!! agree totally with every word!
You right ! Without Russell Allen on vocals, I probably don't follow them since TDWOT album.
yeah too bad the last 2 albums sucked
Yoav Gruper No they didn't.
totally agreed, also Hildibrand ftw :D
Respect Mr. Mike Pinella, the only one talking gear himself
Thanks for that! When a musician keeps his gear simple, everyone hears him better.
Uhm. How does that follow? Neither sound quality nor musician is not affected by the complexity or amount of gear.

Mike Then whomever you've seen have been pretty bleeding stupid. They evidently didn't know how to their rigs worked.
I don't know about it in general but I couldn't hear keybords on their live from Bloodstock....
Symphony x : 22 years of careers , no one DvD , fuck.

Erlik Quadros, we support them, it is not judging it is complaining xD

the vetta?
Guyz are so humble in appearance, not holding their noses high but...true masters 🤘
I like how the guitar is mahogany, maple and mahogany. DOUBLE MAHOGANY.
I like this band a lot . I love them live honestly . Really good live

pinella
That fucking drumset.
Congratulations. Hugs from Brazil

The MJR should be modded with Luminlays just so he doesn't have to use a hole puncher before the show.
Michael romeo is using an engl fireball 60 in this video, not fireball 100.
Awesome! Simple and efficient!
These guys are freaks of nature! Awesome band.
Michael Pinella it's the Snoop Dog of Metal.
what are those dots in michael romeo's guitar? are those stickers?
All is in the hand of the maestro
YEAH! awesome!
Nice actual tube heads
Pinella, the Monster!
I can see sansamp at the top of Michael's rack, his tech says that he used poweramps only in Fireballs, does it mean that Sansamp is his preamp?
Fireball´s gain at 4?
Perfect!!!
ativa as legendas!
love symphony x. too bad I work when they're coming to my city. :/
+Kyle Thomas am a doctor and if they were in my city i wouldnt give a fuck about the hospital that day
When they were talking of the ENGL cab, he said " we have two 30 and two 60" he mean vintage 30 and ... ?
Engl V60 speaker 👌 i think two hab’s with v30 and two cabs with v60
@@janbongartz3582 thanks man!
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Did he switch to kempler yet?
pinnellaaaaaaaaaa
I'ld like to listen someday to Romeo playing 7 strings with S-X
+Koke Salinas he does.
@jasper426 everything he plays has been in D standard
@jasper426 No, it is in D standard tuning. I play that song on my guitar with the original recording in the background.
Is Michael Romeo using DiMarzio pickups?
Yes. The X2N in the bridge and the Tone Zone in the neck position.
Very low gain on the amps I see.... then slamming it with the OD... 🧐.

What a video... it's all about music gear and you don't hear a single tone. :-(
Yeah we always have a very limited amount of time to shoot these and getting proper sound onstage to capture the tone is nearly impossible
Mike reminds me a lot of Snoop dog
Diegosaurio Wut hahahahaha
