Yes it will be missed even though you can mod it it's sad nintendo couldnt keep service because i thought nintendo was trying to beat xbox and playstation and both playstation and xbox have their 2013 consoles still be able to buy games
RIP Wii U. I had a mini funeral and everything. One of the best eras of gaming ever. I LOVED the 3DS and Wii U!!
Such a shame that the Badge Arcade is even harder to access, and even more of a shame that in general these fantastic stores are gone.

It still works but you can only do the practice catcher to get plays now. And it is the same catchers now so you are stuck with the same practice catcher which is not great.

WiiConnect24 technically still exists. It’s just being ran by a fanmade service called RiiConnect24. It brings back all the functionality for all applications/channels that support WC24. But it requires a modded/homebrewed Wii

The Wii U and 3ds officially being dead hurts a bit. The Wii U deserved so much better.

It’s ironic because the Wii U was like taking the DS concept to a TV. So at first I was super hyped, then watched as it failed to live up to its initial promise of multiplayer multi screen content. But in the end, the Switch is basically a better version of the Wii U concept. A hybrid you can switch between modes on and free up the main screen. The Wii U really had to crash and burn for the Switch to soar.
@@Clefargle tbh Nintendo did wrong stuff on promoting the wii u in the past which makes it more underwhelming, I wish they would present it with some more intuitive things like Miitomo between the console and phone, or even promos using various mii characters while they could introduce to their metaverse.
These are just examples of how wii u could be stronger and last longer before switch existence. Well, the time said itself and we can't change anything.

Nintendo gave the Nintendo Wii U and even the Nintendo 3DS the proverbial shaft - especially when it comes to video game titles that are *_*still*_* stuck on the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS (as opposed to being allowed to live on by being ported/enhanced-ported over to the Nintendo Switch) such as the _Mario Party 10_ video game title, the _Yoshi's Woolly World_ and _Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World_ video game titles, and the _Nintendo Land_ video game title!!! 😮💨😮💨😮💨😖😖😖😢😢😢😭😭😭😫😫😫😩😩😩😞😞😞👎👎👎

I remember my childhood was the 3ds e shop. I knew it had to happen eventually but I just wanted a couple more years.
9:09 I guess André was right about having 1 year left of online play for Wii U/3DS after the eShop closure.
The eshop closure reminded me of Super Paper Mario Chapter 6.
Ive been planning these last two months to have this day open so I could be on while the eshops were closing, but sadly things came up today 😥. Regardless, man do I love both of these consoles, the 3DS I never really thought much about because I was really young and just liked playing Mario on it, the WiiU was my first console that I really got invested into and felt like it was mine. Gave me so many memories going home on the bus with one of my closest friends in elementary school and middle school (we were neighboors) to play Smash 4 together over FaceTime or in person. And I've been really starting to appreciate the 3DS now thanks to recent interest in the console rising due to its shutting down and the amazing people in the homebrew community allowing me to redownload all the games I lost and new ones I never could afford back then. I'm not even sad about losing these consoles eshops because they served me well and the community is keeping them alive and its just such a beautiful thing. Thank you 3DS and Wii U ♥❤

The Eshop for both the Nintendo 3Ds and Wii U was a good ride, I bought games and enjoyed them and will always appreciate them in my collection for both my 3Ds and Wii u
It's been an outstanding 18 or 19 years of DS and Wii systems. The DS, 3DS, Wii and Wii U were platforms to new ideas, amazing games and timeless experiences that will persevere after today. On behalf of all who shared in these moments of joy and magic that brought good times to all who had a play, I thank Nintendo and specifically, we thank Sotaru Iwata for taking on the heavy burden of bringing Nintendo out of the commercial slump of the Gamecube era and showing us that Nintendo means perseverance, joy and love.

Rest in peace, my beloved Wii U. you were my first console to introduce me to great Nintendo games. eye-opening experiences and fun with family and friends. the memories overflow the times when it was much simpler and didn't have to do much but turn on my gamepad and start playing online. I wish I have taken you with me to enjoy the homebrews. farewell wii u. you were the best and so were my 3ds XL that was stolen in 2015 in a car robbery lol. I wish I can go back and do it all over again...

I was downloading my top 20 games, I only got 19 before it closed. I guess I’ll use that cartridge slot after all for game #20.

The sad thing about this is that this eShop was much better that Switch eShop, it runs better, and has a better overall format. They should update the eShop on switch to be more like this one.

Eshop was a fine shop, our greatest friend, greatest memory that we felt joy, charmed, special and fun. Whenever we go to the shop or if we want something from our friend he she will be happy to help us.

I wish I had some friends to join me to watch the 3DS and WiiU eShop shut down video, instead I have to watch it alone and I totally cried after this video. If only Nintendo would give a chance to bring eShop if its been decades, to rebooting it or something. (Even if it's a video game store) My last Nintendo eShop purchase is Super Smash Bros. 3DS DLC Characters and Stages. It sucks that I lost my Wii U because of my parents hide it since 2017. I shouldn't get a job earlier before 2020 starts and I can buy lots of digital games. I hope you guys will get over it, even if it takes more weeks or months. 3DS and WiiU forever lasting peace!!!

I got Mostly all Zelda games that you can't play on switch ( this was before GB and gba switch news happen ) Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Track, even Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD ( which I'm waiting for Nintendo to put on switch I mean there is Twilight Princess and Wind Waker profile pictures on switch )
I'm glad I got all the games I can get mostly alot of retro games besides Zelda games like Super Mario rpg, Mario kart ds, and even wii u download Dr Luigi and much more as well

I just wanted to say is thank you gamexplain that video help me how to merge my Nintendo account on 3DS and wii U. I was lucky to buy one game in the eShop Mario vs. Donkey mini march again! And one last theme but it's the download code animal crossing from my Nintendo but no luck for my Wii U deluxe system because back in either 2013 or 2014 I'm trying to remember but I completely break my Wii U gamepad my idiot self. I'm really gonna miss the eShop both my 3DS and Wii U. Again thank you for the video for showing how to merging the same Nintendo account.

ON THE ESHOP AND THE GAMES ARE STILL THERE. 😏 Well, obviously if I make a move, there's no turning back, the games will disappear leaving the Nintendo Selects banner alone. I had my 3DS, this podcast, and Super Andrew 64's podcast opened all at the same time. I witnessed the eShop's last breaths. The 3DS and Wii U will always be better than the Switch.
3DS is the GOAT handheld system. I grew up with the original Gameboy and 3DS was like GB on the highest level.

I guess like my friend said. Since the games don't Exist Anymore it's not really Pirating it's preserving. It's only pirating if you buy a Nintendo game you can still buy physically I guess that makes sense.

Dude I grabbed mine after the price drop. I have 3 special edition 3DS XLs and I got 2 of them for $200 and I got the other one for $300 with a carrying case and other stuff. I also got the Zelda 3DS for $150 which was the 2011 one. I do have the Galaxy New 3DS XL which was $200. I did see several of these systems go way up. The Pokemon X and Y edition one I bought 10 years ago is $500 used which is insane.
Man, i just checked the e-shop, and its not avaliable for every single one. Also they removed the downloaded videos too! 😓

My 3DS has 8 themes active since I splurged and bought a few extra before the shop closed. I swear it only played Majora's Mask theme 4/5 times I used it the final day. It almost felt intentional. Everytime I launched a software like the eShop it made the *boom boom* It was hilarious
