Bryce Menzies made history by jumping his off-road truck 379.4 feet over a New Mexico ghost town to set a new truck distance record. The project, entitled “Bryce Menzies New Frontier powered by Pennzoil® Synthetics,” saw Menzies launch ramp-to-ramp in his Pro 2 (two-wheel drive) race truck, soaring past the official Guinness World Records distance record of 301 feet as well as the unofficial record of 332 feet. An adjudicator for Guinness World Records was on-site to verify the distance and authenticate the new record.

The driver still takes the risk as he's sitting in the car. If anything would have gone wrong he would have been the first one directly affected.
I do like that in the video he says "We broke the world record." as an acknowledgment to his team.

The driver doesn't deserve to get the record. The engineers do, all he did was drive in a straight line, whilst the engineers had to figure out all the physics and geometrics

@tinyrodent He still has to have the BALLS to strap into that thing and MATT THE THROTTLE on a 45* ramp at I'm guessing at least from my estimates around 115-120 mph to carry that distance. So don't go too overboard on your engineering suck dicking, because they have zero invested in this other than some physics calculations and instructing the carpenters on the ramp construction..

That "ghost town" is actually Bonanza Creek Movie Ranch just south of Santa Fe, NM.
To all the "hold my beer, I could do this!" people: Do you know how your acceleration characteristics at the point of takeoff will influence your rotation throughout the jump? How about how much extra power and/or speed you need to carry onto the ramp to avoid dropping below the engineer's stated take off speed from the extra drag going up the ramp? And if it pitches or rolls due to a gust of wind or a slightly sketchy takeoff, do you know which way to steer, whether or not to change gears, what
to do with the pedals to recover it?
The car is not on autopilot going up the ramp or through the air. Each split second decision increases or decreases the chance of a successful jump, or ending up in the hospital (or the morgue). It's not necessarily hard to grasp that top list of techniques if you have an intuitive experience with rally, Baja or motocross jumping and an understanding of angular momentum from the wheels. Otherwise, you do not know the dangers and controlling factors of a stunt like this just because you jumped some Hot Wheels as a child.

Brother, I was there on med coverage the 1st day he broke the record and the the size of the balls on that guy is astonishing. On TV on TH-cam it doesn't look like that much but in person that was a long freaking way he jumped.

Drives 1/4 of the way into town, makes a big jump. Lands before the end of town, then Red Bull says it was the whole town that was jumped. I expected better Red Bull
