- The annual car jump competition took part at the Oval Race Club on bank holiday Monday 31st May 2021 where Ryan Wing was announced as the winner driving a Lexus IS200

And the reason i said that was balancing issues. No one would choose a car that wouldnt make it for that game mode. Everyone would just choose the same op cars. Which would make u question even having a variety in the first place. Same way i felt about GTA races when they first came out.

actually lots of these shows can cost £20 a ticket so with a group that easily adds up so it's not free at all
I went earlier this year. Tenner a ticket, there was about 50 races, absolutely banging value for money.

I always thought demolition driving was an American thing. It's good to know that the UK loves it too!
The UK (and Holland) goes way harder than US when it comes to destroying cars. Just search for banger racing hardest hits and you'll see that the US version is pretty gentle by comparison. Often the cars are reduced to barely longer than the driver's seat and footwell.

The ramp should have been longer and flatter so they didn’t land nose down
I think having the engine up front is naturally making them nose dive, not the ramp! And letting off the accelerator before leaving the ramp will pitch the nose down too.

They should add ballast weight about 200 kilograms or more to the back of the car, so the car doesn't fall on its nose while jumping, to protect drivers from injuries.

Number 118 didn't even use more than a foot and a 1/2 of the ramp and he cleared all the cars even while sitting in the passenger seat!

Love it! I do have one question, though. I see a number of car parts sticking up in the air at 6:57. Would they allow a jump with it looking like that or, since this was the end of the competition, it didn't matter? Thanks!
Most seems to be plastic (bumper/dashboard parts) and some sheet metal which won't be an issue, having said that, some cars didn't even have the airbags disabled/removed so safety seems to be a relatively low priority... In a normal crash the airbags would help, in controlled crashes with a helmet and neck-brace etc. they usually don't.
@@someguy4915 Yeah I've also seen in tough truck events quite a few airbags suddenly come bursting out the moment the driver hits the very first obstacle

@@someguy4915 For UK banger racing the steering wheel is wrapped in plastic film so it's a solid disc which prevents fingers etc getting trapped during violent wheel movement in hard hits.
