Gerade angefangen "Kleo" zuschauen und endlich wird dieser geilen Sängerin eine Plattform geboten.
Recently discovered Dalbello had written "Gonna Get Close to You" which was later performed / recorded by Queensryche. After all these years, discovering this song was a cover, stunned me. It has been an exciting discovery. I wish DalBello had been given more exposure in the United States. Her sound is incredible. Although we are now creeping up to 2023, I will enjoy wandering through her catalog of music. What an incredible voice, interesting sound and powerful performance.
That cover on Queensryche's "Rage for Order" album was 1 of my favourite tracks on the album!I've never heard Lisa's version but I think Geoff Tate did an excellent appropriately moody and obsession laden version that does the topic matter justice!
@@craigrosa7722 Geoff did an amazing job...I also had no idea it was a cover until this popped up in my recommended feed. I thought she covered Queensryche until I checked the Rage for Order album
Dalbello also wrote "Wait For An Answer" that would be covered by Heart on the Bad Animals album.

Great voice and amazing lyrics. Queensryche did a good version of the song "Gonna' Get Close To You". Heart also did a good cover of "Black On Black" with Ann altering some of the lyrics. I'd never heard Delbello's version of that until recently and I read the unaltered lyrics. I have to admit now I like her version better than the Heart version and despite being an instrumentalist and scrutinizing the music in most cases, I was really stunned by Lisa's vocals over Anne's. I found them more emotional and "angry". She was/is quite the wailer. She should have written more stuff like "Black On Black" and "Close To You"..
Lisa did SUCH a great job on this album, producing it herself. So good.

This is track #4 track on the "9½ Weeks" soundtrack album. Lisa also does vocals on the John Taylor "I Do What I Do" (Track #1) of the same album. Has been in my collection in all its variations (vinyl, cassette, CD, DVD, Laserdisc, Bluray) since 1986.

I am a HUGE Heart fan and I’m a bit ashamed of myself for not knowing it was a cover. Heart’s is Black on Black TWO, which has always intrigued me. Tonight I decided to find out why; now I know. I’ll be honest, I’m not sure which I like better because this is great!!!
I think they’re both awesome. The song itself is very intriguing and kind of disturbing in a sense which is what draws me to it. I feel that way about a lot of songs by Dalbello though

One of my favorite songs of all time. I first heard it as part of the masterpiece that was the 9 1/2 Weeks soundtrack. That soundtrack also introduced me to Luba. Absolute classic!

She's not a "puppet" in the music industry(lot's of famous artists have sold their souls).
Be thankful she didn't get the fame of madonna. If people actaully reaslied what scum like madonna do to ge to that level, they would never support them. Lisa has integrity and morals. I was shocked to find some of the people I idolised, some who also never reched the level of that piece of trash madonna, and sadly will not listen to them anymore. One person I will allude to is a beautful singer who had quite a good run from the late 70's until the mid 80s and starred in a David Cronenberg movie in '82 I think it was. I was SHATTERED to find out what she had taken part in. I was crushed to find that out about her. There's others too. You'd be shocked at some of the names. I cannot in good conscience look at or hear her the same way again after what I saw- so I just don't listen to her anymore. I wish I never saw what I saw. You cannnot unsee it when you do. Take a look at some popular actors who, for their age, now look like they're 150 years old. There's a reason for that, and no it's NOT heroin use. The entertainment industry is an insidious industry.

I like the lyrics to this version better than on the hit version recorded by Heart. Overall I think the song works better as a metal song like Heart's version, but the changes in the lyrics (IMO) make no sense. In this original version it's quite clear what the message of the song is, but in the hit version the lyrics don't really make much sense. Take these lyrics and put them with Heart's music and you'd have the perfect rock song.
@SabuPtolemy Some of Lisa's lyrics were too controversial for Ann to sing.
@@ShadowLadyLost And, according to Ann in a recent Professor of Rock interview (here on TH-cam) also had a problem with the lyrics on 'All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You" and wouldn't sing it live for a long time. She seems to have mellowed about it now.
