Some people have had a little more trouble getting furina to trigger aloy's cryo infusion, and we're a little unsure as to why this might be since there are so many things affecting it and it's impossible to tell what the the difference in other people's set up is. It's possible ping plays a huge role for example. I did struggle to get it to trigger in the abyss against PMA, for anyone wondering. In general, for me the success rate of getting the first 3 triggers within a couple of seconds of using her skill has been over 90% regardless of the other 2 members of the team, but your mileage may wary! 💜
It's not that hard to proc, Kazuha is a good partner and permanent partner for Aloy. Jean is also a solution it's actually fun to learn how to quickshot the bombs with Jean skill. Learning also how to lure enemies towards the bombs is also a really good tactic I've learned from play ing with her for so long
After testing, my current theory is that the Furina's summons might just affect the trajectory of the chillwater bomblets only at the time of impact when Aloy throws her skill. It seems like the bomb distribution is tighter if the summons are also closer. And if a summon is able to delay that contact by staggering the timing of bomb contacts, that might be just enough to get past her coil stacking cooldown....but that's just a theory. A genshin theory.
You might want to try Thoma instead of Xiangling cause he mostly build of er and he pump alot of pyro, also he doesnt do much damage and give some much welcome stagger resistance Ah! I really want to try more team with Aloy now but she it forever lost to my account
omg I had built aloy ages ago and although she did fine, I never really felt comfortable bringing her into abyss with me. I'm so happy she has a chance to shine now!!!
YEs in the overworld she has always been plenty mroe than good enough, and there were a few times early on where i brought her as a cryo burst support into the abyss (in a triple cryo freeze team againt the hydro lector things 😂)

even if I didn't love her from her own franchise, I think I always have a thing for the underdog 😂 Plus making a character whose kit isn't perhaps quite as smooth as others' is it's own kind of special puzzle 😁
Around the time when Kirara was released, the game received an update where HoYo fixed the bombs for Klee, Kirara and Aloy, but didn't specify what exactly they changed. It can be assumed that they made the bombs to explode more easily. Maybe that's what made Aloy gain her stacks a lot easier than before. When I tried Aloy after a very long time of not touching her I noticed that it's a lot easier to gain her infusion. Haven't tried her with Furina, but after this video I definitely will! I got interested in Aloy again because I've got Thundering Pulse but didn't get Yoimiya, and Aloy is the only character besides physical Fischl and Childe (who I don't have) who can utilize its passive. She's far from being the strongest character, but still quite fun to play!
That was 3.8. "Fixes an issue whereby in specific situations, Kirara's Cat Grass Cardamoms, Klee's bombs, and Aloy's Chillwater Bomblets will not go off upon contacting opponents."

Do that's what happened recently! I remember levelling her up and playing her even before I got Ganyu in 2.3 and then abandoning her, benching. Until recently, a few friends and I were doing the bosses on a randomised challenge (we often do 10 bosses for the BP that way, it's definitely more fun than just doing 10 bosses on your own) where we co-op and randomise a list of 10 bosses and for each boss everyone randomizes a character, you also can't have the same character more than once. So, this time, I got Aloy for PMA and I noticed I was instantly getting the infusion. I thought it was something about the boss but likely it's due to these fixes
@@andris404 In particular it was because of the Desert Dorito Mechs - if you threw Aloy's Bomb at them and then used Kazuha's Grouping, somehow the bomblets would then hover ON TOP OF THE DORITOMECH but not go off. It was very annoying. Also I think those mechs could sometimes unironically push the bomblets if they floated through them.
As someone who got Aloy to level 90 on day 1 of her debut (Ps4 player) and also have been asking for her constellations for over 2 years now, I salute you and congratulate you for making this video. I'm gonna try this team to make my gameplay more varied. I'm leaving my like, this comment for the algorithm and a subscription.

My immediate thought when you’ve said that Furina fixed Aloy was, actually, running atk% goblet on Aloy as Furina provides a lot of all dmg%, so you can get decent numbers no matter how much stacks you’ve gained. Surprisingly, you’ve found something way more interesting.
I’m an Amber main, and when Aloy first came out, I ran her with Amber, Kazuha and Kokomi. It’s a really fun freeze/melt team, since Kazuha Carrie’s Amber and Ally’s bombs with his skill.
If Aloy didn't exist, I wouldn't have found amazing people to play with (you and a certain Raptor) and I would have stayed on the "I give up" train of people who started Genshin but got frustrated because they didn't have anyone to play with when help was needed to slay one of the bosses in that horrible ar35-45 area. She'll never be a bad idea to me, I wish we'd had the chance to experience what they may have had planned for her if only the game hadn't been delayed. I can't wait for another chance at Furina now since I might actually invest in my poor Aloy with her to make her shine 😍Thank you for testing things and explaining them in a way we all understand 💜
Originally I got all mooshy about the way Aloy has essentially brought some of the BESt people into my life but we had to cut the script a little since it was rather long 😎💜 I was so unbelievably excited about this discovery that even though I did hours and hours of experiement, I'm hoping there's still some new trick to make things work even better!! Also here's to hoping future character will be the missing pieces 🥰

I've not seen much (since I don't have her), and as so often, it's usually someone poo-pooing her as a character and that doesn't make a good watch imo. This was wonderful, as usual. I've loved aloy as a character for a while now, but i only recently got into genshin. I'm feeling very upset that she hasn't come back and probably never will, but it's cool to see people still trying to give her a shot
i half expected they would tie her constellations to in-game progression in forbidden west. like after beating a chapter you find one of six mysterious codes that you plug in to the genshin code redeem thing. all i would want from constellations is removing the ICD on her coil stacks and when she uses her burst she instantly enters/extends the rushing ice state. I'm gonna write them out like I'm a dev cuz it's fun: C1: Aloy gains a second charge to her elemental skill. C2: The 0.1s cooldown on Aloy's bombs' coil stack gain is reduced to 0s. Additionally, using Aloy's elemental burst puts her in the rushing ice state immediately. If used when already in the rushing ice state, its cooldown is reset. C3: The level of Aloy's normal attacks is increased by 3. C4: When Aloy attacks a frozen enemy or freezes an enemy, she generates one cryo particle. This effect has a cooldown of 5 seconds. C5: The level of Aloy's elemental burst is increased by 3. C6: Using Aloy's elemental skill immediately puts her in the rushing ice state and resets its cooldown. Additionally, when Aloy hits frozen enemies or enemies affected by cryo with her normal attacks, she gains 15% attack speed and 100% crit damage for 10s. This effect can not stack.
Your hypothetical cons are almost precisely what I've had in mind as well!! 👏 And the things is, if they were worried she'd be "too powerful" and thus people wouldn't wish for limited 5 stars - first of all they were wrong because many of us wish for character regardless of power, but because we like them, and second they could have just reduced her scalings a tiny bit and made her a 4 star! I would have been perfectly happy with that personally.
A bit of exclusiveness, but given how freeze doesn't work on bosses, a constellation applying a slow that counted as freeze for checks could've been neat(it would be done on her burst, letting her use it herself if she'd want to, but also a side-grade to Shenhe on Cryo teams, the debuffing ability being reminiscent of Horizon's status, brittle in this case) And mostly unrealistic, C6 giving her the ability to change the damage type of the burst or apply Purgewater as well(the first determined by slot she was in the party and the second a debuff that would prevent enemies from applying status to your characters, but still deal the damage)
Considering Aloy has less than a 1% playrate anyways, needing Furina on the team isn't bad. Aloy doesn't have constellations, and Furina can be used in other teams, so I'd say it's a worthy investment
Funny enough, the Aloy Stella Fortuna item exist in the game data, it's just unobtainable, and of course does nothing if you somehow manage to get the item
this was such a positive video, im so happy for you getting her to work!! as someone with oceanid trauma and thus longing for a cryo catalyst (that isn't melee...) i was delighted with her upon release. i didn't really get to use her outside of commissions, but im still happy to have her on the off chance i ever have to go fight that thing again 😂
Holy shit I gasped so hard when you figured furinas companions to do that! I always got frustrated on paying aloy despite really enjoying the idea of her kit and character, now i can finally give it another shot and have some fun, for this vid you definitely deserce a sub ❤
A few people in the comments have tried it and it's not been working for everyone, seems like it might be some other interaction rather than just her companions attacks directly triggering them - but even when it doesn't work, Furina/Aloy combination is a massive improvement on her previous teams imo so still well worth a shot. Hope it works for you too!
As someone who loves a lot of non-meta characters and plays the heck out of them out of love and spite, I've been trying different builds and teams for Aloy ever since i got her - can't wait to try these combos!
12:15 That's an Oven team, and Alloy acting as the on-fielder for the team is genius, she gets to apply a lot of cryo that xiangling can melt and also increases the number of dendro cores generated by baizhu and furina. To improve it, change xiangling to Thoma and set him on a full EM build. I'll have to try that team, too bad her personal damage is so bad
Is there another way I could set up this team without Baizhu? I don’t have him and I wondered if I could set it up with maybe Nahida or Dendro MC and a Superhealer Bennet? Or something else even. I love love Aloy and would be super excited to try out this team if I could
@@lethaldoseofweird9511neither nahida nor DMC heal, so they wouldn't go well with furina, plus DMC's burst is delicate when having a pyro teammate since furina's pokemon would be unlikely to hit it with hydro so that it doesn't explode from a pyro hit, if you reeeeealy want to make it work you can use a full healing Bennett, with an energy weapon and HP, HP, healing bonus mains stats, or even ditching noblesse and going for something like maiden's beloved or other full healing set
I'm glad you've found a home for your fav character. I'd say keep trying new teams with each new characters and you'll never know what fit! I absolutely love Horizon. I was so encapsulated by the way they narrated the story! I haven't had a chance to play Forbidden West though. I hope it's just as amazing as the original. 😊
I started HFW but then my life and schedules got so hectic I haven't had the time to sit down and finish it which greatly annoys me because I waited for that sequel for almost 5 years! I'm pretty confident it'll completely consume me for X number of days so I have to make sure I have the time set aside, but I reall can't wait to properly play through it 💜

Always nice to see a video uplifting under-appreciated characters. Glad you've experienced the joy of finding a team they feel valuable in, like I have. I prefer using Aloy in a Freeze team with Rosaria/Shenhe, Jean, and Furina. Jean in particular is godsend here because, on top of being able to double Swirl Hydro and Cryo with ease and keep the the team healthy, her held skill allows me to slowly and carefully maneuver Aloy's bomblets so that only one goes of at a time, making max Coils stack generation much more consistent.
Funnily enough I hadn't thoguht to try jean with furina prior to uploading, but it's the perfect combo because: furina triggers a very quick 2-3 stack (usually 3 but well, it's not 100% guaranteed), and jean can help trigger the 1-2 remaining precisely as you said! Since Jean can also heal furina's HP drain thus help buff, that leaves space for shenhe! 😁

Oh ma gashhhh, should I finally build up my Aloy? I actually like how she feels with her animations. Doubt she’ll ever make it to Abyss, but for overworld exploration, she’ll be fine.
Since Dehya is now on the standard banner which makes 2 Pyro characters in that Banner. It now gives the possibility of multiple characters of the same element in the standard banner (I hope). With that logic in mind, Hoyo should just put her in the standard banner so that we can see what Aloy's true potential is through her constellation since there is no other way to get them as of today.
I'm assuming it has to do with monetization on the part of Sony, which is probably why she hasn't gotten an event banner rerun. They'll want a cut of whatever she makes and I'm wondering if not putting her on the standard banner was part of the deal with Sony as well.

This is such a great video! I recently dusted off my own Aloy to try her out on marechaussee with Furina too, and was pleasantly surprised that she actually did pretty well! It's fun to play with unconventional units :D I wish she'd gotten treated better by HYV, but I'm glad there are new ways to make her work since I do find her quite fun!
I hope that if there’s another crossover character like aloy, then they give some way to get constellations for aloy. My idea was to have a hangout quest that becomes available when you own her and rewards constellations for every ending
You really said, "I can fix her." 😂 But nice video. Aloy really got done so dirty, and I like that Furina magically fixes her bomb problem. She actually has so much wasted potential. She could have been a weak-point focused archer. Do additional damage to mechanical enemies. And constellations could have 100% fixed her. Also, the heck where they thinking with her signiture weapon?
The lengths we go to for our favourites 😅 Truly though, it alsmot feels like she was made good, and then as an afterthought handicapped to prevent her from being "too good", and in general her element and kit functionality were odd choices lore wise.. For now I'm happy with furina's effect, and looking forward to future characters "completing" the team 😁

Great video! Regarding Furina triggering Aloys bombs, did you check if the summons walking into the bombs triggers them instead of the attacks? I do not have Aloy to test this, but I checked with Kirara and neither the summons walking into them nor their attacks trigger her bombs, so either Aloys bombs work differently, or it is simply the summons pushing the bombs into enemies that increases the consistency. My current guess is that it is just them pushing the bombs, as I see that with Kirara, though the hitboxes are a bit odd (in my brief testing I never saw the crab push them, for example)
Ok having only just started this video I'll first say this: We Aloy Mains have been having a grand ole time with Aloy before Furina. Now among the vocal Aloy Mains you'd think the most popular playstyle would be Melt teams with her, but it seems like according to the game's recommended Artifacts, it was Freeze teams. So my personal favourite Freeze Aloy (dubbed Freezeloy, possibly by me actually) is Aloy, Shenhe, Kaz and Yelan. It's a team where Aloy does a lot of damage during her Ice Rush duration, and if you're using Thundering Pulse, Aloy can be played as an Energy Funnel for Shenhe as well. And then Kaz can double swirl Cryo and Hydro so there's a lot of damage going around. We're talking 20-40k normal attacks during Ice Rush which is pretty nice. What FURINA brings to the table is the fact you can run Marechausee on Aloy. Which means you can play a Freeze team that still does all the Crits against Bosses. Now granted this is a team where you'll need a healer (I haven't yet figured out the playstyle for a healer less Shenhe Kaz variant), but with Mika and Song of Days Past, at least I have had great success so far and it's very smooth to play. "But Aloy does noth-" in a 25s rotation (coz I play loose rotations, tight rotations are for speed runners) Aloy is doing damage for 10-12s, but still manages to do 40% of the team's total rotation damage (Furina does 53% but she's always doing damage) so is that Nothing? I'd say you'd have to be a real hater to claim nothing is happening. Anyway sorry that's my rant. 😅
I love Aloy to bits so I've used the same team as you multiple times, but I definitely ran into the issue of inconsistency with triggering her coil stacks, so a lot of the time she was mostly skill + burst quick swapping, vs with furina I consistently got an instant 3 stack and the 4th was all but guaranteed in the vast majority of situations! 😁

I do think that Pets have attacks that can trigger them but also Aloy, Klee and Kirara had a change to their bombs, making them easier to trigger. What a breath of fresh air! I love that the algorithm recommended your video to me. I’ve never played horizon games, but I’m so inclined to try it now. I have played with Aloy before, but after awhile she kinda became a wardrobe of artifact sets for another character… I have nothing against her, and I thought it was going to be temporary… But after watching this I am going to play with her again. Congratulations on 36 stars with Aloy! I feel that is so hard to mak nowadays with non meta teams.

with my plans go pull for furina in just two months. it's a huge relief to see that aloy may actually see use on my account. i really wanted to use her, but could never truly justify it given my focus on geo focused characters. only recently leaning more into reactions and finding that- while simply brute forcing it ( geo ) may be fun, i genuinely do enjoy seeing reactions pop off. it will be a nice little thing to experiment with! Thank you for this video.
they really should add a dungeon/ instance to farm for matts/constellation/ for her and when you get that stuff then it turns into another artifact instance for cryo users.
I only started playing Genshin towards the end of 2022, so I missed Aloy. But looking at her design and origin I feel like it would have been better both lore wise and skill wise if she came out later and her element was Dendro. I think it fits her better based on what little I know about her (haven’t played horizon). That and dendritic is just broken I think any character with a bad kit who isn’t dendritic would be massively improved and buffed just be being dendro.
Possible - if I remember correctly she has some poison arrows available in the game, though the most commonly used ones were fire, ice, and electricity... Honestly they could've given her any element and it'd have worked, but I did always feel like electro would've been more appropriate, but would have been noticeably worse than she is already. Hopefully they'll get around to doing a full crossover event someday, and everyone who doesn't have her can get her!
I agree! It was hoenstly always a bit weird that they chose to make her cryo, since even thoguh she can shoot cryo arrows, those are by no means her signature! In the game there are fire, electro, ice, and poison (dendro? 👀) arrows, as well as ones that explode in various ways, so I would've thought the more logical choice for element would have been pyro, OR she should have been a fully physical unit where the cryo is just there to help her super conduct!
I'm still disappointed that she doesn't use ruin guard drops as her ascension mat (and it's not just because it would have meant i could have levelled her before inazuma)@@saurusness

9:40 After further testing, it is not Furina that triggers Aloy's bombs. The true culprit was Dendro Cores generated through bloom reaction. With this in mind, there's finally a reliable way to force her grenades to explode at separate intervals. This is not only limited to Aloy, kirara's Burst also behave the same way as Aloy's bombs. I'm not sure whether the same thing happens with Klee or not as I don't have her on my account, but Dendro Cores *should* be able to trigger them as well! UPDATE: There's more to it than just bloom, needs more testing.
those tea party members are insane but the fact they fix aloy is just pure insanity at its peak! i loved aloy cause i got her right at the beginning of my genshin journey and didn't care about meta at all, didn't even know about it, I cared for viability in a team and she felt not so bad for occasional cryo dmg
Truly her burst has always been a very respectable nuke! So mostly I've always used her for that, but I could never shake the wish to make her a true on field DPS with cryo infusion, and finally the day has come thanks to furina 💜 I'm still in the process of experimenting with different teams, but always loy and furina are at the core!
You can try Bennett on a superhealer build (4pc Maiden ER/HP/Healing) when played with Furina. You still need to do some extra micromanagement to spread out the healing ticks, but they become large enough that they can instantly fill up a character and/or trigger overflow to team.
I'm so happy about that. I love the Horizon franchise and I wish Aloy was better in Genshin. But with Furina it becomes possible for Aloy to cross the abyss. It's a shame I only started playing recently and I don't have her😢
This video is the kind of thing i LOVE from the genshin community. The way you talk and think about aloy is really how i feel about qiqi. She was one of my first 5 stars and i was determined to make her a dps despite her being one of the most overhated characters, like aloy. Just like you, i found myself with a wonderfully viable qiqi, even with qiqi’s kit’s various flaws. This video is amazing, really resonated with me, and was so clear and enjoyable, all in all, amazing content 🩵
@@MusicLoverInTheSky she’s very versatile the way i have her built, i use 4pc clam to boost her heals and filet blade for pretty great extra damage. She is my sub dps/healer combo most of the time, unfortunately when i pulled raiden she was naturally outclassed, but qiqi is still pretty awesome for me. My main team for exploration is raiden/qiqi/xiangling/yelan, but im trying to brainstorm a freeze comp with qiqi for abyss :))
just dusted my Aloy off thinking that she could have some weird synergy with Furina, and then this video pops up, glad to know someone else had the same idea but yeah Furina Aloy teams are a blast to play, just a shame that I have to constantly steal Yomiya's Bow to make it work lol, might be time to finally level up my Amos bow
i got aloy when i was low AR and a long way from inazuma (and i didn't have your dedication lol), and while i was always planning to lvel her when i got to inazuma, sadly she's been sitting unused as over time i got other characters that made more sense to level first. which was a shame as i think i'd have really enjoyed using her early game when i didn't have as many characters. while i don't need to level her now, i'd quite like to simply to have fun with her in the overworld. and as i'm saving for furina rerun it's great to have extra motivation to build her :D I love your videos as always..! and I really enjoy getting inspiration for different teams to try out :)

Recently I tried this combo in the new vibro-crystal event (though i replaced Xiangling with Bennet because of their levels). Something I noticed is that if you swap Aloy while she is in her cryo infusion state, she won't lose the infusion unlike other characters like Hu-tao. This is a great qol that will allow her to do quick emergency rotations. It was quite helpful during the event.
huh. the way i fixed aloy was by extending her charge attack times to deal splash damage, changing her skill to a single burst of cryo (no more bombs), and then making the burst an extended period of continuous aoe cryo. she also grew horns.
THIS is the big part in why i think Furina's release was so good, seeing characters that were considered bad become good just makes me so happy. I didn't know that Furina had this interaction with Aloy but it makes me really happy for people who main Aloy

During covid, the wife and I feel in absolute love with aloy. The horizon series is amazing. Unfortunately, I had quit genshin at the time, and life was doing life things at the time. Missed out on getting her
I still play aAoy for explore sometimes, I mean I can just apply pyro and Yelan them away. But making Aloy infuse her bow its on another level of satisfying, I use 4 emblems with atk sands to make sure only need one time skill to make sure burst ready but not leaving normal attack potential behind. For me Aloy 8/10 frustation. 9/10 fun. 10/10 will play her again.
I have Aloy in my Kazuha DPS team, where she's more of a seatwarmer than anything, She does good damage sometimes, but thats about it. Will def check out this team
Your video was a godsend. As a healer enjoyer, I have Fuina and I tested on Masanori since your combo didn't cross my mind. First of, enemy attacks with weapons can Aloy's bombs just bounce away intact, like Masanori/Samurai's wide sword swing charge. That could be an issue, yet Eremites with pets just double the enemy hitbox. That said, the bombs seem to explode when Gentilhomme Usher (Octopus) & Mademoiselle Crabaletta attack, because they have the aoe attack and that triggers the bombs. I tried to look if that works in combo with something, but no changes there: neither dendro cores nor Sayu's Mujina Flurry work, so Furinas Minions don't enable other mechanics, they alone just seem to activate them. So, thank you! I used an full set Echoes of an Offering and the bow Song of Stillness, since that works on- and offield with Baizhu.

There's a tech that archers can do to become a machine gun, Fischl is known for it while Gorou is best at it. By pressing the aim button rapidly while firing you can animation cancel your first shot again and again, does this tech work on her?
one of the main attractives from genshin was the fact that every character is viable and broken in their own way, im happy to see someone giving aloy some love!
Aside from your videos being adorable in style, I LOVE ALOY TOO!! I spent all my time since her release thinking of ways to change her and my changes were a bit more radical than yours, but after watching this video I have hope in Aloy persevering through her horrible crossover and the people who did nothing to show support and make the collaboration just. I still have a part of me that thinks Hoyoverse will re-discuss their negotiations with Guerilla and PlayStation and redo the Aloy crossover event with a new and improved kit and constellations so that she can be the Solid 5 star all genshin players deserved.

I'm so sad about Aloy! I played genshin when it was first release stopped during version 1.1 and didn't come back till like 3.2, When I found out I missed her I sent some emails to Hoyoverse about any possibility of getting a copy of her but they wouldn't budge :(((((((( She's one of my fav characters in gaming! I want her so bad!!!
Some people have had a little more trouble getting furina to trigger aloy's cryo infusion, and we're a little unsure as to why this might be since there are so many things affecting it and it's impossible to tell what the the difference in other people's set up is. It's possible ping plays a huge role for example. I did struggle to get it to trigger in the abyss against PMA, for anyone wondering. In general, for me the success rate of getting the first 3 triggers within a couple of seconds of using her skill has been over 90% regardless of the other 2 members of the team, but your mileage may wary! 💜
It's not that hard to proc, Kazuha is a good partner and permanent partner for Aloy. Jean is also a solution it's actually fun to learn how to quickshot the bombs with Jean skill.
Learning also how to lure enemies towards the bombs is also a really good tactic I've learned from play ing with her for so long
After testing, my current theory is that the Furina's summons might just affect the trajectory of the chillwater bomblets only at the time of impact when Aloy throws her skill.
It seems like the bomb distribution is tighter if the summons are also closer.
And if a summon is able to delay that contact by staggering the timing of bomb contacts, that might be just enough to get past her coil stacking cooldown....but that's just a theory. A genshin theory.
You might want to try Thoma instead of Xiangling cause he mostly build of er and he pump alot of pyro, also he doesnt do much damage and give some much welcome stagger resistance

I will go test if Furina and Kazuha together can proc Aloy's cryo infusion consistently. I consider 90% more than enough and a huge win.

omg I had built aloy ages ago and although she did fine, I never really felt comfortable bringing her into abyss with me. I'm so happy she has a chance to shine now!!!
YEs in the overworld she has always been plenty mroe than good enough, and there were a few times early on where i brought her as a cryo burst support into the abyss (in a triple cryo freeze team againt the hydro lector things 😂)
But she needs constellations

even if I didn't love her from her own franchise, I think I always have a thing for the underdog 😂 Plus making a character whose kit isn't perhaps quite as smooth as others' is it's own kind of special puzzle 😁
Around the time when Kirara was released, the game received an update where HoYo fixed the bombs for Klee, Kirara and Aloy, but didn't specify what exactly they changed. It can be assumed that they made the bombs to explode more easily. Maybe that's what made Aloy gain her stacks a lot easier than before. When I tried Aloy after a very long time of not touching her I noticed that it's a lot easier to gain her infusion. Haven't tried her with Furina, but after this video I definitely will! I got interested in Aloy again because I've got Thundering Pulse but didn't get Yoimiya, and Aloy is the only character besides physical Fischl and Childe (who I don't have) who can utilize its passive. She's far from being the strongest character, but still quite fun to play!
That was 3.8. "Fixes an issue whereby in specific situations, Kirara's Cat Grass Cardamoms, Klee's bombs, and Aloy's Chillwater Bomblets will not go off upon contacting opponents."

Do that's what happened recently! I remember levelling her up and playing her even before I got Ganyu in 2.3 and then abandoning her, benching. Until recently, a few friends and I were doing the bosses on a randomised challenge (we often do 10 bosses for the BP that way, it's definitely more fun than just doing 10 bosses on your own) where we co-op and randomise a list of 10 bosses and for each boss everyone randomizes a character, you also can't have the same character more than once. So, this time, I got Aloy for PMA and I noticed I was instantly getting the infusion. I thought it was something about the boss but likely it's due to these fixes
@@andris404 In particular it was because of the Desert Dorito Mechs - if you threw Aloy's Bomb at them and then used Kazuha's Grouping, somehow the bomblets would then hover ON TOP OF THE DORITOMECH but not go off. It was very annoying.
Also I think those mechs could sometimes unironically push the bomblets if they floated through them.

My immediate thought when you’ve said that Furina fixed Aloy was, actually, running atk% goblet on Aloy as Furina provides a lot of all dmg%, so you can get decent numbers no matter how much stacks you’ve gained.
Surprisingly, you’ve found something way more interesting.
I’m an Amber main, and when Aloy first came out, I ran her with Amber, Kazuha and Kokomi. It’s a really fun freeze/melt team, since Kazuha Carrie’s Amber and Ally’s bombs with his skill.

If Aloy didn't exist, I wouldn't have found amazing people to play with (you and a certain Raptor) and I would have stayed on the "I give up" train of people who started Genshin but got frustrated because they didn't have anyone to play with when help was needed to slay one of the bosses in that horrible ar35-45 area. She'll never be a bad idea to me, I wish we'd had the chance to experience what they may have had planned for her if only the game hadn't been delayed. I can't wait for another chance at Furina now since I might actually invest in my poor Aloy with her to make her shine 😍Thank you for testing things and explaining them in a way we all understand 💜

As someone with a lvl 90 Aloy because I exploited the 1 mora exp bug when she was released, I've been waiting for news like this.
I've loved aloy as a character for a while now, but i only recently got into genshin. I'm feeling very upset that she hasn't come back and probably never will, but it's cool to see people still trying to give her a shot

i half expected they would tie her constellations to in-game progression in forbidden west. like after beating a chapter you find one of six mysterious codes that you plug in to the genshin code redeem thing. all i would want from constellations is removing the ICD on her coil stacks and when she uses her burst she instantly enters/extends the rushing ice state. I'm gonna write them out like I'm a dev cuz it's fun:
C1: Aloy gains a second charge to her elemental skill.
C2: The 0.1s cooldown on Aloy's bombs' coil stack gain is reduced to 0s. Additionally, using Aloy's elemental burst puts her in the rushing ice state immediately. If used when already in the rushing ice state, its cooldown is reset.
C3: The level of Aloy's normal attacks is increased by 3.
C4: When Aloy attacks a frozen enemy or freezes an enemy, she generates one cryo particle. This effect has a cooldown of 5 seconds.
C5: The level of Aloy's elemental burst is increased by 3.
C6: Using Aloy's elemental skill immediately puts her in the rushing ice state and resets its cooldown. Additionally, when Aloy hits frozen enemies or enemies affected by cryo with her normal attacks, she gains 15% attack speed and 100% crit damage for 10s. This effect can not stack.
Your hypothetical cons are almost precisely what I've had in mind as well!! 👏
And the things is, if they were worried she'd be "too powerful" and thus people wouldn't wish for limited 5 stars - first of all they were wrong because many of us wish for character regardless of power, but because we like them, and second they could have just reduced her scalings a tiny bit and made her a 4 star! I would have been perfectly happy with that personally.

These cons are perfect for her.
A bit of exclusiveness, but given how freeze doesn't work on bosses, a constellation applying a slow that counted as freeze for checks could've been neat(it would be done on her burst, letting her use it herself if she'd want to, but also a side-grade to Shenhe on Cryo teams, the debuffing ability being reminiscent of Horizon's status, brittle in this case)
And mostly unrealistic, C6 giving her the ability to change the damage type of the burst or apply Purgewater as well(the first determined by slot she was in the party and the second a debuff that would prevent enemies from applying status to your characters, but still deal the damage)
Considering Aloy has less than a 1% playrate anyways, needing Furina on the team isn't bad. Aloy doesn't have constellations, and Furina can be used in other teams, so I'd say it's a worthy investment
Funny enough, the Aloy Stella Fortuna item exist in the game data, it's just unobtainable, and of course does nothing if you somehow manage to get the item
this was such a positive video, im so happy for you getting her to work!! as someone with oceanid trauma and thus longing for a cryo catalyst (that isn't melee...) i was delighted with her upon release. i didn't really get to use her outside of commissions, but im still happy to have her on the off chance i ever have to go fight that thing again 😂

Holy shit I gasped so hard when you figured furinas companions to do that! I always got frustrated on paying aloy despite really enjoying the idea of her kit and character, now i can finally give it another shot and have some fun, for this vid you definitely deserce a sub ❤
A few people in the comments have tried it and it's not been working for everyone, seems like it might be some other interaction rather than just her companions attacks directly triggering them - but even when it doesn't work, Furina/Aloy combination is a massive improvement on her previous teams imo so still well worth a shot. Hope it works for you too!
As someone who loves a lot of non-meta characters and plays the heck out of them out of love and spite, I've been trying different builds and teams for Aloy ever since i got her - can't wait to try these combos!

12:15 That's an Oven team, and Alloy acting as the on-fielder for the team is genius, she gets to apply a lot of cryo that xiangling can melt and also increases the number of dendro cores generated by baizhu and furina. To improve it, change xiangling to Thoma and set him on a full EM build. I'll have to try that team, too bad her personal damage is so bad
Is there another way I could set up this team without Baizhu? I don’t have him and I wondered if I could set it up with maybe Nahida or Dendro MC and a Superhealer Bennet? Or something else even. I love love Aloy and would be super excited to try out this team if I could
@@lethaldoseofweird9511neither nahida nor DMC heal, so they wouldn't go well with furina, plus DMC's burst is delicate when having a pyro teammate since furina's pokemon would be unlikely to hit it with hydro so that it doesn't explode from a pyro hit, if you reeeeealy want to make it work you can use a full healing Bennett, with an energy weapon and HP, HP, healing bonus mains stats, or even ditching noblesse and going for something like maiden's beloved or other full healing set

I started HFW but then my life and schedules got so hectic I haven't had the time to sit down and finish it which greatly annoys me because I waited for that sequel for almost 5 years!
I'm pretty confident it'll completely consume me for X number of days so I have to make sure I have the time set aside, but I reall can't wait to properly play through it 💜

Always nice to see a video uplifting under-appreciated characters. Glad you've experienced the joy of finding a team they feel valuable in, like I have.
I prefer using Aloy in a Freeze team with Rosaria/Shenhe, Jean, and Furina. Jean in particular is godsend here because, on top of being able to double Swirl Hydro and Cryo with ease and keep the the team healthy, her held skill allows me to slowly and carefully maneuver Aloy's bomblets so that only one goes of at a time, making max Coils stack generation much more consistent.
Funnily enough I hadn't thoguht to try jean with furina prior to uploading, but it's the perfect combo because: furina triggers a very quick 2-3 stack (usually 3 but well, it's not 100% guaranteed), and jean can help trigger the 1-2 remaining precisely as you said! Since Jean can also heal furina's HP drain thus help buff, that leaves space for shenhe! 😁

Since Dehya is now on the standard banner which makes 2 Pyro characters in that Banner. It now gives the possibility of multiple characters of the same element in the standard banner (I hope). With that logic in mind, Hoyo should just put her in the standard banner so that we can see what Aloy's true potential is through her constellation since there is no other way to get them as of today.
I'm assuming it has to do with monetization on the part of Sony, which is probably why she hasn't gotten an event banner rerun. They'll want a cut of whatever she makes and I'm wondering if not putting her on the standard banner was part of the deal with Sony as well.

This is such a great video! I recently dusted off my own Aloy to try her out on marechaussee with Furina too, and was pleasantly surprised that she actually did pretty well! It's fun to play with unconventional units :D I wish she'd gotten treated better by HYV, but I'm glad there are new ways to make her work since I do find her quite fun!
I hope that if there’s another crossover character like aloy, then they give some way to get constellations for aloy. My idea was to have a hangout quest that becomes available when you own her and rewards constellations for every ending

But nice video. Aloy really got done so dirty, and I like that Furina magically fixes her bomb problem. She actually has so much wasted potential. She could have been a weak-point focused archer. Do additional damage to mechanical enemies. And constellations could have 100% fixed her.

The lengths we go to for our favourites 😅 Truly though, it alsmot feels like she was made good, and then as an afterthought handicapped to prevent her from being "too good", and in general her element and kit functionality were odd choices lore wise.. For now I'm happy with furina's effect, and looking forward to future characters "completing" the team 😁

Great video! Regarding Furina triggering Aloys bombs, did you check if the summons walking into the bombs triggers them instead of the attacks?
I do not have Aloy to test this, but I checked with Kirara and neither the summons walking into them nor their attacks trigger her bombs, so either Aloys bombs work differently, or it is simply the summons pushing the bombs into enemies that increases the consistency. My current guess is that it is just them pushing the bombs, as I see that with Kirara, though the hitboxes are a bit odd (in my brief testing I never saw the crab push them, for example)
Ok having only just started this video I'll first say this:
We Aloy Mains have been having a grand ole time with Aloy before Furina. Now among the vocal Aloy Mains you'd think the most popular playstyle would be Melt teams with her, but it seems like according to the game's recommended Artifacts, it was Freeze teams.
So my personal favourite Freeze Aloy (dubbed Freezeloy, possibly by me actually) is Aloy, Shenhe, Kaz and Yelan. It's a team where Aloy does a lot of damage during her Ice Rush duration, and if you're using Thundering Pulse, Aloy can be played as an Energy Funnel for Shenhe as well. And then Kaz can double swirl Cryo and Hydro so there's a lot of damage going around. We're talking 20-40k normal attacks during Ice Rush which is pretty nice.
What FURINA brings to the table is the fact you can run Marechausee on Aloy. Which means you can play a Freeze team that still does all the Crits against Bosses. Now granted this is a team where you'll need a healer (I haven't yet figured out the playstyle for a healer less Shenhe Kaz variant), but with Mika and Song of Days Past, at least I have had great success so far and it's very smooth to play.
"But Aloy does noth-" in a 25s rotation (coz I play loose rotations, tight rotations are for speed runners) Aloy is doing damage for 10-12s, but still manages to do 40% of the team's total rotation damage (Furina does 53% but she's always doing damage) so is that Nothing? I'd say you'd have to be a real hater to claim nothing is happening.
Anyway sorry that's my rant. 😅
I love Aloy to bits so I've used the same team as you multiple times, but I definitely ran into the issue of inconsistency with triggering her coil stacks, so a lot of the time she was mostly skill + burst quick swapping, vs with furina I consistently got an instant 3 stack and the 4th was all but guaranteed in the vast majority of situations! 😁

This made me smile a lot. I do think that Pets have attacks that can trigger them but also Aloy, Klee and Kirara had a change to their bombs, making them easier to trigger. No matter what new artifacts or supports that comes out, if the root of the problem is the underwhelming design nothing will change.

I have played with Aloy before, but after awhile she kinda became a wardrobe of artifact sets for another character… I have nothing against her, and I thought it was going to be temporary…
But after watching this I am going to play with her again. Congratulations on 36 stars with Aloy! I feel that is so hard to mak nowadays with non meta teams.

with my plans go pull for furina in just two months. it's a huge relief to see that aloy may actually see use on my account. i really wanted to use her, but could never truly justify it given my focus on geo focused characters. only recently leaning more into reactions and finding that- while simply brute forcing it ( geo ) may be fun, i genuinely do enjoy seeing reactions pop off. it will be a nice little thing to experiment with! Thank you for this video.
they really should add a dungeon/ instance to farm for matts/constellation/ for her and when you get that stuff then it turns into another artifact instance for cryo users.
I only started playing Genshin towards the end of 2022, so I missed Aloy. But looking at her design and origin I feel like it would have been better both lore wise and skill wise if she came out later and her element was Dendro. I think it fits her better based on what little I know about her (haven’t played horizon). That and dendritic is just broken I think any character with a bad kit who isn’t dendritic would be massively improved and buffed just be being dendro.
Possible - if I remember correctly she has some poison arrows available in the game, though the most commonly used ones were fire, ice, and electricity... Honestly they could've given her any element and it'd have worked, but I did always feel like electro would've been more appropriate, but would have been noticeably worse than she is already.
Hopefully they'll get around to doing a full crossover event someday, and everyone who doesn't have her can get her!
I agree! It was hoenstly always a bit weird that they chose to make her cryo, since even thoguh she can shoot cryo arrows, those are by no means her signature! In the game there are fire, electro, ice, and poison (dendro? 👀) arrows, as well as ones that explode in various ways, so I would've thought the more logical choice for element would have been pyro, OR she should have been a fully physical unit where the cryo is just there to help her super conduct!
I'm still disappointed that she doesn't use ruin guard drops as her ascension mat (and it's not just because it would have meant i could have levelled her before inazuma)@@saurusness

9:40 After further testing, it is not Furina that triggers Aloy's bombs. The true culprit was Dendro Cores generated through bloom reaction. With this in mind, there's finally a reliable way to force her grenades to explode at separate intervals.
This is not only limited to Aloy, kirara's Burst also behave the same way as Aloy's bombs. I'm not sure whether the same thing happens with Klee or not as I don't have her on my account, but Dendro Cores *should* be able to trigger them as well!
UPDATE: There's more to it than just bloom, needs more testing.
those tea party members are insane but the fact they fix aloy is just pure insanity at its peak! i loved aloy cause i got her right at the beginning of my genshin journey and didn't care about meta at all, didn't even know about it, I cared for viability in a team and she felt not so bad for occasional cryo dmg
Truly her burst has always been a very respectable nuke! So mostly I've always used her for that, but I could never shake the wish to make her a true on field DPS with cryo infusion, and finally the day has come thanks to furina 💜 I'm still in the process of experimenting with different teams, but always loy and furina are at the core!

You can try Bennett on a superhealer build (4pc Maiden ER/HP/Healing) when played with Furina.
You still need to do some extra micromanagement to spread out the healing ticks, but they become large enough that they can instantly fill up a character and/or trigger overflow to team.

I'm so happy about that. I love the Horizon franchise and I wish Aloy was better in Genshin. But with Furina it becomes possible for Aloy to cross the abyss. It's a shame I only started playing recently and I don't have her😢

This video is the kind of thing i LOVE from the genshin community. The way you talk and think about aloy is really how i feel about qiqi. She was one of my first 5 stars and i was determined to make her a dps despite her being one of the most overhated characters, like aloy. Just like you, i found myself with a wonderfully viable qiqi, even with qiqi’s kit’s various flaws. This video is amazing, really resonated with me, and was so clear and enjoyable, all in all, amazing content 🩵

@@MusicLoverInTheSky she’s very versatile the way i have her built, i use 4pc clam to boost her heals and filet blade for pretty great extra damage. She is my sub dps/healer combo most of the time, unfortunately when i pulled raiden she was naturally outclassed, but qiqi is still pretty awesome for me. My main team for exploration is raiden/qiqi/xiangling/yelan, but im trying to brainstorm a freeze comp with qiqi for abyss :))

but yeah Furina Aloy teams are a blast to play, just a shame that I have to constantly steal Yomiya's Bow to make it work lol, might be time to finally level up my Amos bow

i got aloy when i was low AR and a long way from inazuma (and i didn't have your dedication lol), and while i was always planning to lvel her when i got to inazuma, sadly she's been sitting unused as over time i got other characters that made more sense to level first. which was a shame as i think i'd have really enjoyed using her early game when i didn't have as many characters. while i don't need to level her now, i'd quite like to simply to have fun with her in the overworld. and as i'm saving for furina rerun it's great to have extra motivation to build her :D

Recently I tried this combo in the new vibro-crystal event (though i replaced Xiangling with Bennet because of their levels).
Something I noticed is that if you swap Aloy while she is in her cryo infusion state, she won't lose the infusion unlike other characters like Hu-tao. This is a great qol that will allow her to do quick emergency rotations. It was quite helpful during the event.

huh. the way i fixed aloy was by extending her charge attack times to deal splash damage, changing her skill to a single burst of cryo (no more bombs), and then making the burst an extended period of continuous aoe cryo. she also grew horns.
THIS is the big part in why i think Furina's release was so good, seeing characters that were considered bad become good just makes me so happy. I didn't know that Furina had this interaction with Aloy but it makes me really happy for people who main Aloy

Yo, you accidentally made a team zajef made recently and called it Bain Marie which is basically fridge burgeon as you said but with a slow hydro applier being furina
The only thing i wished they would correct is that she could get cryo infusion faster, and probably was one of her constellacion before all was discarded like that

During covid, the wife and I feel in absolute love with aloy. The horizon series is amazing. Unfortunately, I had quit genshin at the time, and life was doing life things at the time. Missed out on getting her

I still play aAoy for explore sometimes, I mean I can just apply pyro and Yelan them away. But making Aloy infuse her bow its on another level of satisfying, I use 4 emblems with atk sands to make sure only need one time skill to make sure burst ready but not leaving normal attack potential behind. For me Aloy 8/10 frustation. 9/10 fun. 10/10 will play her again.
I have Aloy in my Kazuha DPS team, where she's more of a seatwarmer than anything, She does good damage sometimes, but thats about it. Will def check out this team

Your video was a godsend. As a healer enjoyer, I have Fuina and I tested on Masanori since your combo didn't cross my mind.
First of, enemy attacks with weapons can Aloy's bombs just bounce away intact, like Masanori/Samurai's wide sword swing charge. That could be an issue, yet Eremites with pets just double the enemy hitbox.
That said, the bombs seem to explode when Gentilhomme Usher (Octopus) & Mademoiselle Crabaletta attack, because they have the aoe attack and that triggers the bombs.
I tried to look if that works in combo with something, but no changes there: neither dendro cores nor Sayu's Mujina Flurry work, so Furinas Minions don't enable other mechanics, they alone just seem to activate them.
So, thank you! I used an full set Echoes of an Offering and the bow Song of Stillness, since that works on- and offield with Baizhu.
Ty for this video and since i have a lvl 90 aloy, I'll give her a try soon by God's will .. my only problem with her was her skill targeting was SOOO OFF sometimes

Yess I was trying out Furina/Jean/shenhe/Aloy last ngiht and it worked quite well!

There's a tech that archers can do to become a machine gun, Fischl is known for it while Gorou is best at it.
By pressing the aim button rapidly while firing you can animation cancel your first shot again and again, does this tech work on her?

one of the main attractives from genshin was the fact that every character is viable and broken in their own way, im happy to see someone giving aloy some love!
Aside from your videos being adorable in style, I LOVE ALOY TOO!! I spent all my time since her release thinking of ways to change her and my changes were a bit more radical than yours, but after watching this video I have hope in Aloy persevering through her horrible crossover and the people who did nothing to show support and make the collaboration just. I still have a part of me that thinks Hoyoverse will re-discuss their negotiations with Guerilla and PlayStation and redo the Aloy crossover event with a new and improved kit and constellations so that she can be the Solid 5 star all genshin players deserved.

I played genshin when it was first release stopped during version 1.1 and didn't come back till like 3.2, When I found out I missed her I sent some emails to Hoyoverse about any possibility of getting a copy of her but they wouldn't budge :(((((((( She's one of my fav characters in gaming!
