I feel she was designed in such a way that even if someone misses out on getting her, they didn't lose out on much. her kit is.... ok, but she's completely replaceable by characters we already have

Yeah that’s usually how Collab characters are made. Just alright. But not too good. Otherwise people will feel bad about missing them.
Edit: Yeah I did say usually, not every time. Some collab characters will be good. Some examples of other mid collab characters are Hello Kitty/Mimi from Cookierun Ovenbreak, Sonic/Tails from Cookierun Kingdom, The Persona Characters in Dragalia Lost, etc. I can only talk on the games I personally played.
I think the real reason that everyones reaction to aloy is "eh" is because she's both kneecapped by design and she was just kinda given to us. If she had a quest line or something of the like it would've made the release seem less lazy, which would have probably gotten more people to try her. Of course she would have still been bad, so a buff would be still needed, but an exciting release may have shifted public opinion

I had never even considered that she could break the immersion because I figured that’s something every Genshin player would be used to. Who hasn’t equipped Amber at the beginning and went up to Amber so Amber could help Amber?
it's really not the same though. amber is still part of the game. aloy is not

Or how Ningguang's hangout event makes it sound like she hasn't been carrying me since the beginning of the game, and is kind of stuck in Liyue.
Getting characters is basically duplicating them in-game. And they remain hidden from everyone else. It breaks immersion.

Tbh i do consider that she breaks the game's immersion, that's kinda the reason why i don't play her
Amber is well know character in Genshin while Aloy is obviously a Western character that doesn't really fit in a gacha game with anime characters. Also she's not part of the story
@@Big_Dai I think he meant that Aloy is not part of the story, using Childe to defeat Childe is not the same thing as playing with a Western character that's not part of the Genshin universe
I feel like Aloy's biggest problem is that her collab didn't feel like a collab, she doesn't have a constellation, and her weapon is ps exclusive. I'm kind of hoping the lack of fanfare is from horizon's release date being pushed back and once it's released we'll get a constellation or a quest or something. On her own, I think using her can be fun because throwing bombs is always great. Plus, she's one of the only female units that wear long pants!
This and imo she looks really awkward. She lacks uniqueness, it looks like they slapped her design on a typical Genshin body :/
It's such a weird collab too. Feels pretty random, even something like Demon's Souls with the Enkanomiya region or a Final Fantasy collab would've been more interesting and fit the vibe more

@@spadeksorata2031 I can see that going to ways: tons of tantrums from players (but nowhere near anniversary levels) or absolutely nobody caring because it's been so long so everybody has forgotten about Aloy. Actually now that I think about it both of these things will happen simultaneously

fr, she shouldve had a quest or event of some kind so people actually get introduced to her. it feels awkard thats shes just, there, but doesn't actually "exist" like make her canon or just dont put her in the game at all. it especially sucks cause horizon is an amazing game and aloy is really cool IN horizon, but genshin aloy barely even looks like her. her model looks off, her kit is bad, HER VOICE ACTOR ISNT EVEN THE SAME?? and now the whole genshin community "hates" her and horizon has a bad reputation

One thing that throws me off is actually the missed flavor with her upgrades. I mean, she lives in a world filled mechanical beasts and learned to tackle them, so why does she need Spectral items for her upgrades? Wouldn't it make sense to real with more of the Ruin enemies? Ruin Guards with their Chaos Drives, or if you want the item to be specific to Inazuma, Chaos Gears from the Ruin Sentinels. It is much easier to match her lore with those items for her upgrades, but no... spectral bits... Why?
Not to mention she was hunting Ruin enemies in the mini web event
unfortunately because elite enemy drops aren't used for leveling characters, only weapons

because no one will figth those annoying things if not for that, also kokomi requires them
in terms of lore, I honestly feel like her ascension materials would have made more sense coming from the ruin machines rather than the spectors. it just kind of feels like they didn't put a lot of thought into actually *immersing* her game's mechanics into the lore, but maybe that's just me 😔

I feel like her collab just came out of nowhere and they essentially went nowhere with it. Let's take Honkai as an example, they had a collab with Neon Genesis Evangelion and Asuka was a free character you can get. The difference between Asuka and Aloy's collabs, is that Asuka, despite being a mediocore unit herself, she gets an event quest with its own self contained story and she also comes with an alternate costume and brought Evangelion alt costumes for other characters. Meanwhile, Aloy just came in the mail. She doesn't get her own event quest and her own unique weapon is only for PS4/5 and she's the only character with no constellation, so even Amber can do more than her with constellations.
They didn't even try to make a unique collab event with Aloy. I think ppl would forgive Aloy's existence in the game, if she had her own event quest that was fun and highlight's Aloy's character.
She doesnt even have her original voice actor....wtf mihoyo, shes already used to voicing aloy again due to working on the sequal

With Asuka, MHY's CEO outright stated that it was "Public fanboying on company's fund", Aloy, on the other hand, is the price MHY had to pay to bring cross-play to PS users, the difference between these 2 couldn't be more apparent.

i feel like Aloy collab was just a marketing move to get more attention for Forbidden West. Horizon itself doesn't have a lot to bring to gacha. it doesn't have any iconic characters besides Aloy herself whereas with an anime collab they have a TON of characters to pick from to either make one unit free and the rest as premium gacha pull units.

I like how people call Aloy 'lore breaking' without actually reading her lore.
The final part of her lore reveals that she was duplicated while searching through a ruin, her duplicate was brought to the Genshin world, and her original stayed in the Horizon world.
I believe that this was Alice, since Alice narrates Aloy's trailer, and Alice is also the one who went to our world and brought the KFC stuff over for Klee.
Alice can go to other worlds and bring things back, Aloy is lore friendly.

The lore of genshin isn’t even complete yet, people will be shocked at the whole mutliverse aspect of genshin allowing it to collab with ANY universe, thats what traveller/travelling means

I personally believe that "Aloy's problem" was that she just came out of nowhere. In addition of her weird standpoint in the game's lore it was also an issue that she was a unit nobody wanted nor asked for and that collaborations likely weren't something most people thought of at that time. Especially not with an "old" game or rather not really not well known game series. It was also a let down for many to hear that her weapon will only available via PS AND that even if you got the weapon its passive would only work while playing on PS.
I personally always thought that Aloy was only part of the agreement MHY had to make with Sony in order to make them allow cross-saves or cross-play. MHY basically had to promote a new game that would be coming out and integrate the key character of said game into theirs. A win-win?
In the end it was just a disappointment. A character nobody asked for, nor thought of, at a time that was already pretty meh for MHY. And on top of that she wasn't really all that strong.
I think under different circumstances she could've been a decently received character.
Totally agree, if there was a big event where a portal opened up and she spilled out and we had to do some event-based quests to earn her and constellations, I think she would have been received much better. As a character she kind of fits into the world space, she's an adventurer and in her own world a genius essentially, she'd fit into Genshin as a ruin diving adventurer who is wanting to go home but also learn more about Khanriah's inventions and the nation it might have been like, just like she wants to unravel humanity's true past in her own world.
Nahh adding quest or lore for her can ruin the story because it's mean that she's canon unlike now. Plus, it's an additional work to make it in the 1st place.
@@youravghuman5231 yeah but with events you get primo which is a given in all events. With her canon story, it can easily be worked with rn since honkai and genshin impact are now being connected although subtle if you call it that.

Despite her bombs being a potential waste, unless you pair her with a Anemo character. recently we got the omni-amiguity net, Aloy is the best character for catching animals.
My biggest issue with people saying she breaks immersion is that the entire concept of genshin breaks immersion. You can fight Childe with Childe, have multiple characters together in co op. And even walk around as an archon and no one notices or cares. The game isn’t deep enough for that level of immersion to even be broken. And let’s not even talk about whatever the hell Paimon is and why only a minute few characters questions how and what she is. Given she’s the only one of her species we know about
oh yes it's completely normal for me to see a floating gnome that drops glitter while floating and also magically disappears.
Paimon is part of the Heavenly Principles of Teyvat hence why its inhabitants thought of that as "normal" while we as an outlander or outsider baffled with her existence, and the keeper of the Heavenly Principles is the Cubes Goddess so...
The fact childe even fights with us even if 2.2 prove he’s still traveling from nation to national working for the fatui.the fact the mondstat character are in Inazuma dosnet fit story.hell the fact travveler dosnet use the sword u have on him or the facts he switches elements on the fly while the player can’t
1 - it is known that those fights are more of lingering memories replaying with only your input being treated as yet another version/edition of the same record; 2 - why would anyone care? most still see just a funeral parlor employee (which was his whole point, the whole "Zhongli" "idea"), and those in the know are also playable characters - no lore breaking; 3 - if you think the game ain't deep enough for "that level of immersion to even be broken", is dark souls series also a game where there is actually little lore for you? cause on that statement you simply sounded like an utter ignorant who needs everything spelled for them while it's also being shoved in their face atst, or it doesn't exists - yup, there is more ways of breaking the immersion than just simply not being able to stay consistent with the lore and set rules, the general internal integrity, which is the true problem of Alloy; 4 - while there si close to nothing certain about Paimon (the most fair point of what you said) there is plenty of hints around her to point at actually not that many possibilities, little observation around the whole teyvat/genshin symbolism and you can basically hava a small but decent paper done

I think that collaboration with honkai would make sense, like, honkai had genshin event, and you can play as fischl in this game, so if we got honkai event in genshin, and seele would be character we would get, I would be really happy (and doing 'collab' like that, would be easy, since both honkai and genshin are mihoyo games)
Just a random theory but I think the Honkai x Genshin collab has something to do with the lore (ofc not really a canon collab but just make sense) considering the existence of bubble universe in Honkai or something idk (not a Honkai player). I've seen theory where genshin is just one of the bubble universe so there's no way Genshin can collab with Honkaipleas (probably), full theory can bee seen at channel named Daiken... (I forgot the full name). And also there's one more theory video about the reason why Fichl and Keqing (both electro) is choosen to be the collab character but I forgot where I find the video
But again, it's just a theory. A game theory

1. There's a program that sent out people to find other worlds. The Traveler and Twin could have been said people trying to find other worlds.
2. Dvalin was spotted in Honkai storyline (Canon btw)
3. Some different universes are similar, having the same people and all, so Genshin having similar names is sus
@@Andrekrep420 also for why Fischl and Keqing, I honestly think it's just that they're well liked characters in Genshin, that are not too unique (Fischl summons Oz, Keqing deals Electro damage and is agile. Those are their only fundamental attributes), plus Fischl already claims to be from another world.
@@Andrekrep420 it's not a theory. It was confirmed by the devs on 4.2 honkai pv that honkai and genshin are, in fact, on the same universe. You could say, Genshin is another leaf on the same imaginary tree as honkai impact 3rd
Are the lore connected, or linked or whatsoever? That's NOT confirmed. Even in different worlds/bubble universes, the lore can be different
But what I'm trying to say is that genshin and honkai are part of the same universe/multiverse. Mihoyo building MCU lmao
Actually Aloy's lore is very similar to Genshin's. The ancient technology we harvest from ruin mobs (Chaos devices/circuits/cores for example) are just like how things work in Horizon. The remnants of an ancient advanced civilization are left roaming for the present medieval society to harvest and adapt to their own ways.

@@shawnmonroe1745 to be honest people keep saying she wouldn't work in the Genshin world and it kills me a little because we have robots in game! But no... Aloy wouldn't work at all in Genshin, they say. : /
@@werh227 For me personally, she doesn't fit simply because of the two games different art styles. Genshin has a very anime art style while Horizon is more on the realistic side. How Genshin integrated Aloy's design into their art style looks unnatural, at least to me.
bruh her lore is not similar to genshins AT ALL. the Only thing that is similar is that u fight robots in both games

Something you mentioned in the video is a real problem, the 'I need materials from another land' situation. I know this is kinda off topic but Shenhe and Yun Jun also now suffer this issue. They're both Luyue characters, but BOTH need materials from Inazuma. This is not acceptable. Newer players should not be locked out of new characters from older regions just because they can't access the newest area.
Stretch this scenario long enough, if sumeru, fontaine, natlan, snezhnaya, and khaenriah locations are gated with archon quests, and new characters keep popping up...
I can't recommend this game to new players if this keeps up.
Shoutouts to my Kokomi who is still lv 40 while the rest of my team is lv 50-60 because I still haven’t gotten to the part of inazuma where you can farm for pearls and stuff
Speaking of materials one thing I don't like about Genshin its they always introduce new boss for new character's material instead of existed boss.

Yeahhh it doesn’t make sense that they require inazuma materials even though they are from liyue. I know they are new characters and want people to explore more regions, but still.
As a new player when she came out she was technically my first 5 star, but I couldn't even build her since her materials were in Inazuma. Ended up getting Childe shortly after which completely removed any need for me to build Aloy.

@@muhazreen There's no reason not to go to the other regions, it's probably more interesting to continue the story (and get access to limited time events, which are main quest locked) and do the side stuff later.
Doing it that way also lets you explore each region multiple times instead of getting tired of being in the same place all the time.

Her biggest issue isn't an Aloy issue, it's a Genshin issue. Leveling up units, weapons, and building new artifact sets is SO FREAKING RESOURCE INTENSIVE that a new character would either need to serve a unique role on the team, or be new best waifu to invest into.
If Aloy came at level 80 or 90 with a max leveled bow, OR had a character quest with quest rewards that gave a handful or level-up materials and granted her ascension materials so you could use her before Inazuma, I'd use her in overworld stuff even if she was a sub-par DPS.
She did come with a weapon. Her bow was PS exclusive. Having said that, with no way to get constellations or refinements for her weapon, she’s pointless.
Anyway, her lore adds to the game. But immersion is broken because she's ugly, doesn't fit in, and has no storyline, and is a hand out character, has no cons (the literal plot of the heavens are constellations) and she's not bringing her history with her. It's like she's an elf from honkai lol
I'd rather they made Aloy some Varka type character, who's capable of anything and everything. Not... Whatever this is. Lol it's like Kirito got thrown into Skyrim.
I'll admit I literally only just learned the KFC collab was a thing. and I won't touch on that sincei t came AFTER Aloy.
But I will point out that Genshin is really smart about giving its characters precedent in the world, whereas Aloy... Well, Venti already pointed it out in another comment. She has no storyline or connection to the world, she literally just shows up with no explanation or storyline to back her up and so it feels weird because genshin's original characters ALWAYS have a place in the world.
@@aquamarinerose5405 I mean, the entire battle system is breaking the lore 99+% of the time, since specific story events aside, the Traveler is wandering around by themselves with a Dull or Silver Sword and swapping elements at will.
Aloy but really being there is pretty much completely indistinguishable from using Nahida and The Wanderer Formerly Known As Scaramouche to defeat Scharamecha as the chosen champion of Nahida, or some untrained vagrant Oni who spends almost every walking moment playing children's games or doing part time jobs to defeat the legendarily skilled and insanely powerful Raiden Shogun in the plane of Euthymia (which you are brought into because you fascinate her, unlike the Oni who she explicitly doesn't even know the name of).
Well, I digress. It's about time to use Vision-Only Childe to defeat La Signora and a couple of lawyers to defeat Azhdaha and Dvalin.
She just seems like an incomplete character. Aloy doesn’t have constellations, nor a character quest or hangout. It doesn’t seem like Mihoyo cared about Aloy outside of the collab, so why Should I?

Shes so incompetent that they couldnt even get her currently active original Voice Actor even though she is still used to doing Aloy due to the sequal being in development and she does TV shows too, so how hard is it to pay her for just 30 lines
Edit: from the look of the whole event i bet this was made in like a month or 2, extremely rushed due to them just trying to make this for Sony and never really had enough time to get the original VA as that can take months to plan oit normally for events, i still hate aloy in genshin for how cursed it is but i can see this whole thing made on the spot
@@ratatouilledrinksclorax9897 I both agree and disagree. They didn't get her original English VA, but they got someone who did good voice acting... the problem is, they decided to leave her anonymous... maybe for fear of backlash.
@@joshuaottley7902 I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, the voice actress for Brigitte, from Overwatch, was harassed and even recieved death threats. The Genshin Impact and is definitely not the nicest community, so I wouldn't be surprised if the exact same thing were to happen.
Honestly, I think that she feels more "unfinished" than bad, I really hope that her constellations can fix this, and I think that later we will get her story line, because it's obvious that Mihoyo is not gonna leave this colaboration just to this, probably when Forbidden West comes out we might get her story line, and I'm sure that at least one of her constellations will make her viable, because the only thing that holds her back for now, is the ICD of her coil stacks, which will probably get removed by one of her constellations.
Also her weapon is exclusive to PS4/5 users, PC and Cellphone users can technically use it, but its effect is locked for them.

Yeah, I play mainly on ls4 but thought it was dumb idea to lock it. Mainly not use her because of materials
they should definitely give her a story quest. she just randomly appeared out of nowhere, then... that's it
when i first heard aloy was coming to genshin i was stoked and couldnt stop thinking about all the possibilities for her kit and cons, just for her to get a bomb, big bomb, and no cons. still love her tho and she's my main burst dps, shenhe's talents help a lot with aloy too
I cant get over how cursed she feels from her using the short body type to the fact she doesnt even have her original VA, whoes still active in the scene btw.

I've been using Aloy recently just to pick up the friendship level on my roster and she's pretty fun in a freeze comp. Granted, Albedo pairs extremely well with long ranged units and can carry weak characters as long as they're in his AOE. Physical Aloy is fun and her AA animation is nice to watch, but not if you care about DMG output XD

@@Brownyan yes her normal build is so inconsistent, if you miss 4 stacks, you'd have to wait a 10 skill cooldown for another chance to get her cryo infusion. Just put physical goblet on her and she's good XD

Honestly I feel she isn't even that immersion breaking. Cryo grenades exist in both games, and Aloy is from a world that is even more technologically behind than Tevat. She's like an archeologist who studies ancient machines, and she has expressed interest in studying the ruin guards. If you didn't know she was a Collab character it wouldn't be a stretch to think she belonged to the Fatui.
I do hope that if she gets constellations in the future they make her more viable as a DPS character. Things like removing the ICD of her coil stacks would help a lot.
Well technically Aloy's world is both more and less technologically advanced than Tevyat.
Remember that in Aloy's world the civilization before theirs created mass replicators, infinite energy engines, machines that could remain functional for thousands to millions of years of continuous use, etc.
They should’ve have an event about her release on all three devices.
But, they didn’t do a an event, instead they just left her hanging. Meaning, Mihoyo should’ve held an event on Aloy: Only her constellation. Maybe, choose a free 4* Characters, while on that. (Or her Original Weapon). But, instead we got no Event by involving Aloy meeting up the MC in DragonSpine. She sorta weak without her Constellations Upgrades.

@@priddy_101 totally, id like for him to showcase/talk about why everyone uses bennet and xinqiu, since he mentions them on basically every video of "why no one plays X", and hearing how good they are actually got me to use a better team, went from Eula, Yanfei, Xinqiu, Barbara/Noelle, to Eula, Diona, Xinqiu, Bennet. and the dps output is quite noticeable.
so a good support is almost as, if not more, important than a good dps and weapon.
Aloy feels like an unfinished character because she needs a lot of fixing to her kit so she can be worth playing.
She is unfinished. They didn’t do nothing when she was in the Mail. Her constellation was left untouched, she felt rushed. I felt they have an Event about her, then forgot.
@@lilllyeevee6536 The whole event is just a small Web event where you help her hunt ruin guards and that's it. She felt more like an NPC who's somehow playable rather than someone you invite to your group.

They could easily save this character and the collab by introducing constellations through events that serve to improve her consistency as she grows more fond of the new world she discovers herself in. It would be really cool to see Aloy get an event that gives constellations that way. It would provide an incentive for players to play through the event and, in turn, become invested in the character, marketing the collaboration character as well. Here are some ideas that I came up with:
Constellation 1: Aloy will enter the rushing ice state when using her elemental burst. If Aloy is already in the rushing ice state, the duration will be refreshed. Aloy will gain the same bonuses from entering the rushing ice state from her elemental burst as if she had entered the rushing ice state from gaining max COIL stacks from her elemental skill.
Constellation 2: Chillwater bomblets created by her elemental skill will reduce the defense of all enemies hit. This effect can stack for all bomblets.
Constellation 3: Increases the level of her elemental skill
Constellation 4: Aloy will deal bonus critical damage to enemies affected by cryo
Constellation 5: Increases the level of elemental burst
Constellation 6: Aloy gains a considerable amount of ramping attack speed as she is in the rushing ice state. This effect will ramp up over 10 seconds and will be cleared when Aloy exits the rushing ice state.
I feel like these constellations might be slightly going against what Vars says a good constellation would be. But I feel like this is a massive chance to save an, in my opinion, failed collaboration and open the opportunities for companies to see how invested people can be in non-Genshin characters when given proper treatment. Aloy is a collaboration character that feels out of place in Genshin right now. But I feel like with the proper love and care from Genshin and Horizon devs, she can receive some treatment to really help her out and be successful.
C2 or C6 can also add the removal of the coil ICD
There should be a flat out cd reduction for her e somewhere. Maybe c1 like other characters have?

1. She is a “beginner” character that new players can get free early where she needs Inazuma mats to be properly raised
2. Cyro is a stacked element. She loses hard compared to another Cyro bow like Ganyu. Even Diona a 4* has more utility use with her shields/heals
3. No constellations whatsoever is a huge demerit especially if her “C0” state is already mediocre
4. Horizon is not that well known of an IP. Barely getting a 2nd game soon. She isn’t a Link tier character where BoTW sold about 3x as much.
5. She isn’t even available anymore period on any platform so new players won’t be able to play her by default

Beside Aloy kit having so much problems, i think there is another reason for her getting dislike by genshin player: no collab event with story. In other gacha game, most of the time when a collab happen, an event with small story would come to explain how the collab char get there or atleast give player some bond time to know them and make us feel like they fit in but Aloy got nothing, she is basically just fall down from the sky. So unless you already know her from her original game, she become like weird unknown char that don't fit in the game cause you just know nothing about her.
In the end, it all mhy fault, they really could do something decent for the collab and make it a success but they choose not to and just throw her in for the sake of being there which is a big disappointment for me. Imagine if Aloy have an event about her and it was a success one, the potential for future collab would have been amazing for genshin player. But what mhy do to Aloy just feel like they saying "we don't want to collab with anyone else for genshin" and kinda cancel out most possible future collab outside of mhy game

I love Aloy. I play her about 20% of the time as part of my farm team since she keeps animals from running away, She's also handy against Ruin Guards since you can both freeze them and hit their weak point with one character. I love the fact that I can play her in two different games - as I'm also playing Horizon Zero Dawn currently.
So am i!I! Started playing the game a while ago. I actually took interest because of Genshin. Eventually Horizon Zero Dawn went for 9 bucks and I got it such a fun game! And her freezebombs are so satisfying to hit.

Something I think you could have mentioned is that while everyone got her, only Playstation players got her bow. She would probably have been better received if people actually got the full package with the weapon designed for her, other than just half of it.

I’m really enjoying Aloy at the moment as my exploration party dps. She can be a good unit with decent damage if built right, and she’s fun to play. Imo most characters have some issues but can perform in the right team and circumstances.
I feel peeved over the notion of the "breaking the immersion" that the fandom has claim regarding Aloy, Aloy goes into an open world where there are mechanic entities that roam around which is honestly not that dissimilar to Ruin Guards, Hunters, Destroyers and the like.
The things that Aloy can do in-game aren't out of the question, even without a cryo vision, i have no doubt in my mind that she could scavenge Teyvat for the parts to do the skills she would with that vision of hers. Believe it or not, Aloy isn't an ordinary person and would be on par with a vision bearer based on her achievements from HZD.
I think the fandom was way too harsh on her, for what reasons? there are many. The fact she poses no lore relevance in the story should already indicate it being fanservice for HZD than anything else. Leave it be and be done with it.
If this is your first time playing a gacha game, collabs happen, even the most absurd kind like Grand Blue Fantasy, it doesn't have to make sense. Just chill.
I wouldn't actually call it fan service. If it were, it would of been more accepted, as it would be servicing a lot of fans. IMO, the issue is, this was forced on them by Sony, to help advertise her new game. So whilst I agree that it "breaking immersion" isn't a fair excuse, the shoe-horned nature of the inclusion makes it displeasing.

True, but as a Horizon fan I feel like Aloy was done dirty here. Maybe it's just my opinion alone but Aloy's design is truly... ugly here in genshin. She would fit the taller woman model better than the medium one, and her clothes had been downgraded to any of it's detail that it's almost offending Horizon's stunning details. So even Aloy in genshin is not a fan service for Horizon fan...

Aloy having constellations that match with the skills from her game would make her A tier easily if not S. dodging further, double/triple shot, higher critical damage, faster bow draw speed and landing critical hits when attacking a weak point.
I know this is a month old, but while I agree wholeheartedly, it would clash with her normal attack focused kit. Maybe, for an alternative, there could be Yoimiya’s C6 (albeit less powerful) slapped into there, extra levels on her normal attack (would be a first for constellations), and attack speed. I love Aloy and genuinely hope these ideas can be implemented into the game. It wouldn’t make sense for Genshin to just have Aloy constellation-less for the whole game, right?

They could also have the ult add a purgewater blast before shooting the cryo canister to get a freeze-like effect to proc freeze reaction effects like cryo resonance, while not immobilizing bosses and stronger enemies like Mona's burst, or reduce enemy elemental damage to elude to its source material effect(could also just negate enemy elemental application while allowing self-application to not break bosses or certain enemies, though it might either be too strong or too unique of a role for another character to fill that those that missed her will be beyond upset).

I think that Aloy was designed to have an unique storyline of her own, maybe coming in future updates, during which she can unlock her constellation, in the same way the traveller do (so, basically, for free).
This is the reason why she is not a top tier 5 star (just like the traveller).
Hope it's true and one of the constellations can remove the ICD on the coil stacking so she can be a decent cryo DPS.

My personal picks would be link from LoZ (assuming genshin comes to switch) or one of the Hero's from dragon quest as an electro sword user
I don't think they can come to Nintendo Switch, as Nintendo will sue them almost right away. Most of the game core mecahnics' are outright Zelda's BotW. With that being said, one of the popular collab characters are from KoF universe (SNK). They appeared in several games such as Street Fighter vs SNK, Mobile Legends, etc. Although that will definitely break the game's lore in its entirety, the collab can be used instead in Honkai Impact 3rd, or as another continent/world apart from Teyvat, since Mihoyo explicitly mentioned that they plan of a whopping 11 years of development for Genshin Impact. One can expect that Teyvat might be represented to players in the future as the starting point of Genshin, while Honkai/other worlds will exist and unlock upon finishing Teyvat.
If you look at ArcSys, they've been making FG spinoffs of Granblue and more recently, Dungeon Fighter. Sure we're not gonna get any Arcsys game chars in Genshin but man I'd love to have an FG game around Genshin chars instead.
Seeing as the issue with genshin getting onto the switch has taken so long, the answer is most likely no. A friend of mine made a joke on either a persona 5 crossover or a demon slayer crossover since both seem to crossover with literally anything.

Honestly what confuses me the most about Alloy is that she's a free collab unit and that collab didn't have any gacha unit at all.
Free collab units are normal, but usually there's some actually competitive collab unit to pull for too. It kind of seems counterintuitive to becon Horizon fans in and then saying "yeah sorry you get one unit and it sucks".
And I think people would prefer to pull for someone but have them be good than being given a (nearly) useless unit for free. Especially for collab units since you're likely working with a very limited number of units that will ever come from that game, so you better make the most out of them when releasing them.
If I had to tackle this situation in particular with the benefit of hindsight, I'd have given Alloy out for free but have you pull for constelations. That would probably allow them to justify giving her more power.
Nah, the most confusing thing is they couldnt get her original english VA even though shes still active in voice acting and is sued to her aloy voice right now due to Horizon

I think the reason is that many top American voice actors/actresses belong to the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) union which stipulates many conditions for them to do work, including pay rates, hours worked etc. If Ashley Burch is the VA for Aloy in Genshin, it is likely her contract with the union prevents her from getting credited for projects not approved by the union. I think most Eastern Media prefers to use non union vocal talent for English dubs due to cost and availability reasons. A large reason why English dubs for Eastern video games, or for Anime tend to be seen as lesser compared to what is seen for English vocal talent in American or European media, as the latter uses more expensive but more talented SAG VAs. Although I think the gap in quality between non union and union voice actors has been closing over the last decade or so.

I’m actually surprised if it turns out the backlash against immersion breaking was that big, since I’ve seen a lot of people wishing for collabs and even going over which franchises and characters they’d like to see. I’m pretty open to it myself because I’d love to see certain characters from other properties get Genshin’d and run around the world with their models. Although, maybe since many of the franchises people wish for have at least an anime aesthetic, maybe there’s a certain line people are willing to tolerate that Aloy didn’t fit in with? I’ve played events in other gacha games before where they don’t even explain why the crossover characters are suddenly in the setting and those seemed to be received fine. Again, though, those were usually anime aesthetic characters.

I'm pretty sure they'd have to cut in Sony on the gacha sales if Aloy was featured in a banner. I'd say Sony is a pretty big player in the game industry, so I think they definitely have the upper hand when it comes to negotiating those contracts. I think the way they did it was playing it safe. "Playing it safe" just doesn't always translate into an enjoyable gameplay experience.
Me and my girlfriend got into Genshin because we heard Aloy was a guest character and she loves Horizon.
I immediately recognized that she was a DPS that wasn’t good at her job, but putting Sacrificial Bow on her (double skill on her = insane particle generation), alongside her low energy cost of 40 and the immense stagger on enemies when they step on the chillwater bomblets left from her skill, means she allowed me as a casual F2P to have a very basic reverse melt comp of her, Rosaria, Xiangling, and Bennett, which absolutely helped me clear Spiral Abyss floors.
She’s a decent cryo battery with Sacrificial and leaves enough off-field utility when quickswapping to justify picking her, as my Kaeya is used with Razor.

Nah, I wouldn't want her ruining my chances at Diluc or Qiqi Cons. Just give her a story quest to obtain her if you didn't when she initially came out. In terms of getting her constellations maybe put a domain or something to get them.
I don’t think adding her to the standard pool is a good idea, since most people don’t want her anyways. Maybe it would be better to have an npc sell her constellations, like the traveller.

A lot of complaints I saw when Aloy was announced as the collab character was that she wasn't a character they were expecting and they wanted someone else like Tanjiro from Demon Slayer. So I think that if they were to do another collab, even if the character was free, if it was a character from say an anime I think people would be a lot more down
i don't really mind Aloy. even if her kit is bad (which it is according to most ppl), i still use her regardless. i just think she's an ok-ish character as long as you use good builds.

All characters can be 'okay-ish' with the right weapon and artifact set. Even Amber can be decent/acceptable.
Her kit is bad because at end-game Level 85+ she doesnt make any hard fights any easier like a lot of other 5 star characters do/can.

Aloy + Sacrificial Bow + Emblem set has helped me greatly as a battery for my Ayaka (I didn't wanna use Diona and didn't have Ganyu), yeah her skill cooldown is very long but it's offset by it being multi-hit (meaning sac bow passive is more likely to work) and it also gives 5 particles when it hits... meaning 10 free particles. I don't know how that compares to Diona because, as I said, I do not use her.
I just remembered she also gives an ATK boost to all party members with her 1st ascension passive when her bomblets hit. It's only 8%, but at least it's something.
Diona also has 5 particles on a 5sec cooldown, or 15 if she holds her skill, so a way better battery with more utility

The main issue with Aloy, for me, is that she's not even fun to play. The ICD on her Coils just ruins the consistency and The damage is lacklustre at best. Her burst is good tho, low cost and CD making it a decent option for burst support but why would you do that when you have better cryo support in-game that does a lot more?
Right! Before she came out I was planning to use her with Kazuha, but kazuha's skill sucks the coils in too quickly sometimes so she's hard to use consistently and now she's just permanently benched
Its 2022 and i just found her potential after ascender her for a wish, her abilities pair well with Xiqu and kazuha.
Her burst has crazy attack ratios (Alot like tighnaris)
But what shines most is her elemental basic attacks, just like yoimiyas. Except she can freeze constantly if you use Xinqu or Yelans Ults

3:22 And this is the main reason why I never really powered up my Aloy. I already had the two best cryo bow units in the game - Ganyu for her insane damage output and Diona for her insane support. The second I knew she was going to also be cryo bow, I had a feeling she was gonna be left in the dust unless she was extremely powerful. While I wanted to give Aloy a chance, I ended up just kind of forgetting about her. If she was some other element, I probably would've given her a better chance.
I think the biggest issue is a huge chunk of the players have never heard of her or her game, and the fact she is the first collab character. In other gachas they might have obscure collab characters but usually these games have tons of characters at base, not to mention many well known collabs. So if its someone you dont know or dont like, you can just say "oh well, I have dozens of other characters to care about more" Genshin shes first guest character, and theres not that many characters period in Genshin yet,
Can't understand how Aloy breaks immersion when the traveler himself is literally otherworldly traveler, the beginning cutscene is literally them travelling to teyvat from another world, I'd say she fits perfectly lore wise.
It could be possibly because she doesn't seem to fit the same rules as travelers when it comes to visions. What makes her worthy of Celestia while we get different elemental boosts instead? Though she does have ambitions, so do the travelers he has like A Lot A lot.
@@TheKingOfSpooks So many explanations to fit canonwise, a very simple one of the top of mine head, we know the traveler was powerful before coming to teyvat so he/she can inadvertantly avoid/break the rules of teyvat, this has been hinted by many characters in dialogue, aloy in her canon is pretty human no magic powers etc so coming to teyvat she would obey the rules of teyvat.
I’m so sick of this bullshoot argument. Imagine if ET just showed up in the mcu and everyone’s like, “it doeSn’T afFeCt tHe iMMerSion, tHaNos CamE fROm anotHEr World”. Just stop. It’s a completely separate asset that doesn’t belong there lore wise, at all. There’s more to it than just being from a different world. It’s a whole different universe all together, the two of them shouldn’t even exist to each other. I don’t think it breaks the immersion since she’s never referenced in the lore and basically non existent to everyone there, but god is this argument so dang weak, I’m tired of hearing it.

To me she doesn‘t fit in because the Traveller is the main character and they‘re the exception. Every other character in this game (as far as we know) is from teyvat and it‘s not like traveling to and from different worlds is the norm. And then suddenly there‘s someone else and no one questions it. Doesn‘t it feel off?
I think Mihoyo needs to release her constellations already. I think her constellations will likely make her much better, probably reducing cooldowns and providing other QoL improvements to her. I don't care that her world is "futuristic" in her own game. I find that irrelevant. Khaenriah (however it's spelled) also had machines and advanced technology, did they not? Plus, she basically got isekai'd to Teyvat. Doesn't matter what world she was from in my opinion. Her aesthetic and abilities seem to be close enough to fit.

I would love Link from TLoZ or Nier from Replicant as collaboration characters, both would make sense thematically, combat-wise and could very well fit in a Legendary Quest without disrupting immersion in any of the three games

Maybe we’ll get constellations for Aloy when the new game for Horizon Zero Dawn is released. Maybe they’ll add her to a banner to get people to wish/get constellations for her
I just hope her being a bad unit in the game doesn't deter people from playing HZD if they've never played it. It's one of my favorite games ever and I love Aloy as a character. She was just done dirty in Genshin and they couldn't even get Ashly Burch, her original VA.

Besides her poor kit and damage, I think Aloy is a really fun to play unit. I hope that Mihoyo don't forget about her and give her a damn event with constellations as rewards. If Xinyan had to wait almost a year to have actual screentime, maybe the same will be to Aloy.
I think the reason why no one plays her (and also why no one plays Kaeya, Amber, Lisa, Noelle) is that she was free and everyone has her so we all think that she is bad.
I think it's not about them free, and more of them being not as good compared to meta characters. Kaeya, Lisa, and Noelle can still dish out a decent amount of utlity heck even a c6 noelle is great dps. Amber also has some uses like reactions and sometimes dps similar to Ganyu's playstyle, albeit worse. Aloy is just a bad character in general, her E is clunky and the ICD that it has just makes it worse since you cant gather them all with an anemo character at one, aside from that she doesn't have constellations so she's bad to mediocre at best

I still use Kaeya and traveller regularly and Lisa also has a place in some meta team comps like speedrun Eula. Aloy just has a confusing kit and no one knows how to play her efficiently. Early players also can't really use her bc her materials are hard to get and gated by a certain AR level, which by the time they reach it would probably no longer an early player and have other better characters build.
Aloy's really fit on Sumeru. Forest and deserts with new beast-like ruin machines,
I'm actually using her as a sub-dps for Mona, and I must say using Aloy with her almost instant Cryo bomb is satisfying af...
I use her with Sac bow and I must say she synergizes well with Mona for a freeze comp and even after the enemy defreezes, Aloy's clusterbomb will most likely get into contact with the enemy causing another Freeze.
Xiangling to this day is still free though. She’s under the people’s choice category when you first start with the event duration labeled as “permanent”
I ended up wishing on her, she was actually the first character I ever got from a wish. To this day, She is still my main, and (probably) still the strongest character I have :).
Once I get her from the 'people's choice' thing her constellation with be up to 3 >:)
Talking about what collab sounds outlandish but more acceptable. I'm pitching in Witcher. Swordsman, uses fire, has aoe traps, and canonically had a way to travel between worlds.
I feel like Aloy could have been a great character to be a cross between Childe and Yoimiya. Have her use a bow and do bow things, then when she uses her skill, have it infuse her spear and have her pull it out, so she has both weapons from her game, so when see swaps off her spear, have it be Childe's daggers and have the CD be longer the longer it's out, but I would go one step further for her, and make coil stacks come from every hit she did with her spear, and have her use them when she hits enemies with her bow infusing her bow with Cryo. Aloy's burst could easily stay the same, just make it a closer range but stronger when using her spear, and maybe make it give her an Atk buff for a short while or something of the likes.
Only thing i like about her is that she makes hunting for fowl and red meat so much easier, since her passive makes animals ignore you, hope some official character gets her passive perk, annoyed they gave it to some limited underwhelming character.

A great analysis, thanks for that! I'm commenting as someone very much enjoying Aloy and using her right from the moment we've got her. This is due to my love for Horizon: Zero Dawn. I admit, I'm actually happier to explore the world of Teyvat with her, than with any of the existing (and upcoming, I guess) characters. This, however, simply boils down to how long I've been playing Horizon VS. Genshin. To me, she's a familiar face showing up in a world to which I'm still slowly getting accustomed. I assume this is the exact reason why collabs even exist in the first place.
Now, I do feel she fits very well in the world of Genshin Impact. Lore-wise, both worlds are built in an aftermath of an extinction event. There's Khaenri'ah in Teyvat and there's our modern world in the world of Horizon. The ruin machines in Teyvat are basically leftovers from Khaenri'ah, kind of similar to the machines the tribes fight in Horizon. Similarly, both worlds have been "reset" and set back in time, technologically and culturally, by gods. Where in Teyvat these are actual gods and in Horizon, one may argue that tech-giants who invented the self-replicating machines could be seen as deities, as they created life, although artificial.
Continuing the lore issues, despite the game stating Aloy has a Cryo vision, it actually comes out from technology, not from gods. In her idle animations, she removes the Power Cell, a piece of tech originating from her world, from her back pocket and examines it. You may even hear a machine sound when she does that. In my opinion, this breaks the "lack of vision" argument. Not only that, but if they ever decided to work on her more (however, I'm not sure if they will) they could add different elements to her kit, much like the Traveller has. The different elements would simply arrive from the various tech she originally picks up in her game. However, I don't think that would be a good approach due to the reason for her arrival, explained in her Character Story 5, in-game, which brings me to the final lore suitability argument. She was suddenly brought to Teyvat.
Now, a part of the Character Story 5 states the following:
"(...) In one ancient, dilapidated laboratory, she found something she had never seen before - a gleaming portal. As she drew close, she was enveloped by powerful energies, and she saw her own image within the portal as one looking into a mirror, feeling as if she were in two places at once.
With a flash of light, the "world" that Aloy knew completely disappeared from her sight, and she now found herself in a strange, beautiful new world just waiting to be explored."
What I believe happened there, the portal created a copy of Aloy, a copy which appeared in Teyvat. The mirror bit and being in two places at once kind of confirm this and also explains why she looks the way that she does, so, well, Genshiny. This is also why she's only able to use Cryo. It's likely that at the time of finding these ancient ruins she had an Ice Power Cell on her.
Finally, I couldn't agree more on her downsides as a playable character and being overshadowed by existing ones. The most annoying thing is not only the long cooldown on her Elemental Ability, as this can be "fixed" with something like the Sacrificial Bow, but the 0.1-second gap in gaining the Coil Stacks. Seems to me like MiHoYo might have nerfed her intentionally, to fix her with upcoming Constellations, but that's just a great hit from the copium bong right there. Or maybe it's not?
The reason why I'm still hoping for Aloy being fixed, both as a character in-game, but also as a collab character is the upcoming release of Horizon two. The release is set for the 18th of February, so I guess this is the moment when my hope bubble will be busted or fulfilled. It would be excellent if they used that date/opportunity to add Aloy's Constellations in Genshin, but also a fully fleshed-out character story. Also, that would be the moment to add the opportunity to get her permanently in Genshin, not just via a random in-game message with completely no backstory or explanation. Additionally, what both bugs me and supports this copium effect, is the bizarre lack of Ashly Burch being credited as the voice of Aloy. Perhaps they're adding some voice lines, the production is still ongoing when it comes to that imaginary character-quest which I'm hoping for? Some legal issues before this is finalized? I JUST DON'T KNOW AND IT BOTHERS ME!

Coil stacking mechanic is one of the worst thing in genshin besides anemo Mc's kit.

@@עידומחלוף-ר4ח probably mc anemo skill pushes enemies out so they spread out and burst tornado gathers enemies only in a line, pulling them away from you, midair to boot so wasting time. Still serviceable but they are better characters.

However he lacks aoe, cc, autotargeting screws you over.
He is one of the characters that can miss his ult even if you cast it direction your enemies.
He lacks mobility and you can interrupted or comboed to death while using e.
As an Mc main I have tried to pull off Mc in floor 12. Its like playing with everything wrong in this game.

I have come to the conclusion that anemo Mc is the worst character in the game right now. Amber and Lisa are also far superior. Since I was talking of Aloy, her coil stacks is also up there as one of my most hated mechanic in this game
Aloy can't be powercrept by Diona and Kaeya, as both existed before Aloy.
She can't be powercrept by them when they don't even share the same role to begin with.
Genshin is also borderline sci-fi. There are actual robots/androids, like Kathrine, Shogun, etc. There are ancient giant robots too...
I play her, her kit is a lot of fun. Her skills animations and utility with the cryo infusion is great for constant cry application. A Jean lead freeze team with her is great. Her skill animation with the throwing of the bomb is so fun to use. That being said, her being aloy is the draw back. If she was a real normal genshin character she would be far more used and liked. An original character and personality would go along way to more people using her.
It does actually boggle my mind that in the gacha game where the main character is a foreign visitor from another world that shouldn't be there yet somehow uses the elemental powers of that world for even less logical reason than owning a vision, people were upset, and are still upset, about the "immersion break of Aloy". Aloy arriving and being granted a vision for her hopes and dreams actually makes more lore sense than the traveller just having the MC power to wield all elements like the avatar.
I like Aloy and her inclusion inspired me to pick up Horizon Zero Dawn and I think her kit is interesting if underwhelming. I think she would’ve been more interesting as sort of a mini Ganyu. Making her an Aimed shot dps without Ganyu’s AoE I think would be more interesting and truer to HZD gameplay. Maybe slap on Amber’s 2nd ascension passive and a 4 piece wanderer’s set and she could’ve been a better Amber especially since most bow players don’t rely on their aimed shots hitting weak points. Honestly her clunky kit and low damage numbers remind me a lot of another free bow unit we got, and personally I think both deserve a rework. (Or at least constellations for Aloy :/)
I remember that before aloy's release. Sony and MiHoYo wasn't really working well together. Remember the no cross save for pc or mobile to playstation and vice versa?
So I'm assuming the reason for releasing Aloy is to patch up something during negotiations like MiHoYo to do this as a gift for Sony or something like that.
I would accept that in MiHoYo's case, in which case I would put the onus on Sony for shoehorning their shit. Yes, she's evidently lore-friendly... thanks to the same plot contrivance that evidently brought KFC to Teyvat... but both of those feel shallow anyway, and there's a vast gulf of difference for suspension of disbelief for a game mechanic ("come see me tomorrow," as an excuse to pause the story until the next patch, team comps like Diona+Diluc, and Wishes in general as examples) and suspension of disbelief for the inclusion of a character from an already existent franchise. Especially when it feels like you're shoehorning your own OC into a franchise that doesn't want your OC.
I'm not happy with how Aloy was handled but if she's the price we pay to get Genshin on a wider range of consoles then I'm willing to forgive MiHoYo. Probably not so much Sony.
I got confirmation from Miyiho customer service before the game even launched that it intentionally designed for that the game saves are not cross compatible at all. The direct quote from the email states "You will not be able to transfer progress to or from any PS4 console. That means if you wish to play on PC or mobile you will need to start over if begin on the PS4." The Fried Chicken recipe is apparently needed by an NPC in the game. According to the NPC, we should have had the recipe acquired already in the game.
It was kind of funny how you mentioned Horizon Zero Dawn being futuristic and Genshin being medieval fantasy, then immediately went to fight robots in Genshin.

As for Aloy, I didn't even bother trying her since I knew it wouldn't be nowhere near as enjoyable as HZD version considering how much of her kit is missing.
There's a lot I agree with. I genuinely love playing Aloy and I wish Mihoyo did more for her to make her better since she's saved me with her Q at a critical moment in a fight. Also I wish Mihoyo used the same female base model as Jean or Eula since I think Aloy is at least 20, but I might be wrong since I haven't played Horizon

People who are mad because they say Aloy "Breaks the Immersion" need to touch grass, it's not a big deal, get over yourself.
The easiest fix is just to remove the ICD on her coil stack, this alone would make her way more viable as a DPS unit

Her elemental skill could be like a flurry of ice sickles that debuffs the enemy for a percentage depending on the time the ES is held
Her EB could be Puck in his giant form-iykyk
The EB could be a field of cryo that constantly ticks or maybe a blizzard with a wide aoe . This blizzard would freeze enemies kinda like how Zhongli petrifies with his meteor. Her main focus would be EM and this time we would actually HAVE CONSTELLATIONS-what they do, that is beyond me- and instead of just giving them out out for free like what they did with ally , we’d have to do some kind of event to get them…ooh like the trials in the second season- that could be the event to get the constellations.
Emilia would be a great pick for another collab
Here's an idea for aloy:
When she uses her burst, the area where the power cell exploded will leave a sort of puddle, when enemies touch the puddle, they will be slowed and have their def decreased
interesting.
How I would improve Aloy:
Add Her Cons:
C1: Extends the AoE of her burst
C2: Each Mini-bomb from her skill would grant every member 20% atk
C3: Increases skill level by 3(preferably very high multipliers)
C4: adds 1 more charge for her skill
C5: Increases burst level by 3
C6: After using burst, Aloy's normal attack would convert into cryo for 15 seconds
My ideas:
C1: Remove the Cooldown from her's E rushing ice stacks, overstacking rushing ice via mini-bombs activates/faster she's both passives (the atk bonus and the cryo damage)
C2: Q activate her rushing ice, After using Q reduces the cooldown from E and Q for all party
C3: ----
C4: Q reduced cooldown, more energy recharge for Aloy
C5: ----
C6: E's mini-bomb has a magnetic effect towards enemies, each mini-bomb reduces the foe defense and speed for ×% for 6 seconds
Main point:
Qualities of life changes, better support capabilities, more identity and better dps capabilites.
As an aloy main since 09/19/2021 , remove the interal cooldown of her E, you have to kite alot if you aren't running Sucrose or Jean. Cut her Q cooldown down with a const and Maybe an extra E charge(i run sacrificial so i can always get overdrive), make a new coil stack refresh Rushing Ice
Feel like the 20% atk is a bit op for the freeze bombs
i mean aloy having a vision actually does make sense. In Horizon she doesn't have any elemental powers so it wouldn't make sense for her to just suddenly have these abilities out of nowhere.

When I first had Aloy after gaining AR 20, I honestly dont know her character or that she was from another video game but even then I was weirded out that theres something odd about her design that she doesnt belonged in Genshin. Still, I tried my best to make use of her since shes a 5 star and at the time, I assumed all 5 stars in the game are overall good by gameplay but damn her elemental skill took way too long to be reusable and at the time, ascension materials were no where near me. Overall, based on her gameplay and no real connection to the story along with no constellations, she is just like a token ad from Horizon lmao

Bruh, imagine if they set up a collab between Genshin and Overlord. Ainz Ooal Gown as your op catalyst or a super tanky dual wielding claymore.
As someone who leveled her up to 90, I would say that she'd be way better if:
-Cd was reduced to 16 or 18s and given another charge at C1 (hopefully in February)
-Her coil stacks cooldown were eliminated (0.1s is too long when paired with anemo)
-Her cryo damage buff reached it's peak at 5s
-And finally, making her elemental skill NOT MISS EVERY SINGLE FLYING ENEMY
I like archer characters despite not being very good at playing them, though I think the real reason Aloy is not played as much is because of the terrible timing she came at
A lot of people labelled her as the anniversary gift because she was available on all platforms on those days, but when compared to standard 5* that have an easy to learn play style her's is kinda confusing, then come other cons like some of her fellow cyro users being more beginners friendly, her ps only bow not being that good for herself, and again the very convenient stingy trimming of her realease really left a bad impression.
The not fitting the aesthetic complain came mostly from players new to gacha games, hopefully the next crossover unit isn't as clunky nor passed as an anniversary gift once again.
Upon listening to Aloy talk I actually quite liked her; it was cool to see another traveler and there was a sense of comraderie with her teapot lines. Her bombs also feel fun to throw.
But I haven’t really invested much in her, because I don’t have time/I don’t know who she’d even fit on a team with. I’m still sorting things out with my main dps’-- so Aloy being a meh unit without a strong niche or gimmick- It’s too much brain space and she fell to the wayside
Ok but like the next characters from another game that need to be in Genshin should be Cloud and Sephiroth. Cloud would be an Anemo(since he gives Anemo vibes and can use wind magic in FF7) Claymore user while Sephiroth would be Pyro(due to the iconic scene of him in the fire) and would use a sword or pole arm. AND they could release Sephiroth’s one black wing as a pair of wings too.

Question, why is Kaeya and Chongyun not mentioned for their uses (Especially Kaeya, he's Rosaria but slightly different and has good but hard to get constellations and normal attack scaling, as well as excellent cryo application and freeze battery)

She's super helpful in catching rare animals.. as most of the tiny ones aren't visible unless you're too close and by then they disappear..
I've never played HZD. I still like Aloy very much, both in design and "theorical" gameplay. I really don't understand that "immersion" argument. She's not canon and shouldn't be considered in any way as such.
My real problem with her is that the only viable way to play her for now, is as a burst support role, and even like that she's not very good at it. I really hope they buff her so we can use her as a main cryo dps someday.
Unfortunately she is capable of being canon. There are many world travelling travellers in Genshin, not just the main character the story is about. Fischl is also a traveller, one who created who own reality and is its ruler. She too has a vision, a vision from the Electro Archon of all people!
Genshin's world is a melting pot of strange, unique, powerful people passing through or living there permanently.
Most people don't consider her canon because there isn't any real lore behind her arriving and us interacting with her. I said in another comment that an event with quest chain to earn her and some of her constellations would have been the best way to introduce her and keep her relevant to players.
@@Rexhunterj Not that I'm against the idea of a quest chain, but I don't think that makes her canon in any way. I've never played HZD as said earlier, but I'm pretty sure Aloy isn't supposed to be traveling through worlds in her own game franchise.
Yes, traveling through worlds is a common thing in Genshin lore (although I'm pretty sure Fischl is just a chuunibyou if you read her storyline), but it's clearly connected to the Honkai universe, not any game.

She's doing fine on my team
My team: Raiden that can constantly deal damage just by using her e, Albedo that can deal 30k every 2 seconds with his presence alone and Qiqi with Ocean hued clam and a 5 star sword
Personally, the Aloy exploration team I use is Aloy, Jean, Raiden and Xingqiu. Jean heals and shreds the elemental defenses and her skill collects the bombs which you can throw, if you're missing the final Coil stack. Raiden adds extra damage and kills everything with her burst when needed as the AOE is pretty amazing. Her skill adds Aloy extra damage, so does Xingqiu Rainswords, as I built him to immediately get his burst. His Rainswords also work amazingly with Aloy's basic attacks and freeze enemies when she gets the Rushing Ice state which converts her attacks to Cyro. I'm having so much fun with this team as I never did before. Prior to getting her, I was sick with Xiao and the fact that everything needed to be built around him. Now everything is built around Aloy, sure, but I feel I have more character interactions during battle.
i think if they added Link from Legend of Zelda as a collaboration he could translate fairly well into the setting
