Layla is fantastic! She pairs especially well with Wanderer since she can allow him to not only get the oh-so-needed shield, but also has an interaction w/ Bennett that enables Wanderer to get both pyro and cryo for his passive buffs!
Yeah it's really sad - especially since there's a ton of important things in a bunch of them. That foreshadowing between Yae and Raiden at the end of the current Itto music event for example!!!
Is even worse when you consider the lore behind these events, as if you missed the event, you may also miss vital information for either a character or the world itself. For a game so focus on lore, it sure has such a hideous way of showing it.
I agree! It's also really weird they don't allow that considering HSR does! Some of the best character interactions and moments have happened during memorable events.. if anything, I feel like a lot of the time the characters perosnality shines far more in events than in their own story quests even!
yeah i had no idea Enkanomiya had event till few days ago- and i have been playing genshin for a year now! its wild probably how much lore i have missed. Probably one day i will watch it on yt but doing it in game would be much more fun.
Layla is also one of my fav 4*, her design is great, her personality is touching and her gameplay came in clutch for my Zhongliless account, she carried my Scara since day 1 and now my Arle is the one enjoying her the most. Easy to build, very comfy and the details in her animations are top notches.
I built her as a shield bot with the Key and triple HP Tenacity, unlike Zhongli, her only downside is that her shield only last 12 secs while Zhongli last 20 secs. During rotation, I often swap her last before swapping for DPS/Driver.
Her shield lasting 12 seconds honestly doesn't even matter since you can always replace it immediately with how fast the uptime is. Layla got them infinite shields.
I have been using Zhongli since his first banner in 1.2 or whenever that was and I am so used to him as a shielder that everyone else just feels inferior. I will have to give Layla a second look. I barely ever use her. I have also been playing Diona for so long that I generally always pick her for a cryo shields, plus her heals are great. Thanks for reminding me that Layla exists. I really love her design and she has a super cute personality.
Definitely worth it! If you get her HP high enough then her shield's raw strength is pretty close to Zhongli's, the only real difference between the two on my account is their elements, so his has that slight boost from being a geo shield, while she's slightly weaker against most elements but ridiculously strong against cryo enemies. In abyss lineups like the current one she's noticeably more comfortable than him, can just tank multiple hits from all those cryo enemies!
i had heavily invested in diona as my second shielder for the other half of abyss for a long time. however the moment i got and tried out layla, diona has been perma benched. diona's shielding just feels so much worse, and her cryo application is worse, and the healing is circle impact which sucks, especially in higher abyss floors, especially in recent months which have enemies all over the place and or high movement enemies.
Personally, Layla is one of, if not the most underrated 4⭐️ characters in the game. She is precisely what I want from a 4⭐️ character: Good, but not overpower; Good constellations, but not mandatory to fix the character; to have at worst a small niche, but being great at such niche. And for being the 2nd best shielder in the game, I think she does a fantastic job. Is a shame that most 4⭐️ don't follow this philosophy. Most of them either are way too broken for the game's own good (Bennet), rely way too much on C6 (Dori), or are straight up bad (Candace). I was lucky enough to get her at C1 with 20 wishes thanks to Baizhu rerun. When I have the resources to build her, sure I will.
Yesss exactly! If they'd focus on 4 stars being great at their small niches, then there'd be space for SO many characters. Plus with the different elements there'd still be tons of variety - for example an anemo version of Layla could work in so many different ways, e.g. maybe their shield absorbs the first element which hits it, and is extra strong against that one, etc.
Agreed, I love characters that fill a specific niche but do it perfectly! I do suspect the reason she's so underrated is that a lot of guides seem to suggest a semi-sub DPS role is the way to go... D:

@@Otherface Yeah she's surprisingly good - her burst hydro application doesn't have an ICD so that's once every couple of seconds at C6, and if you then add in the extra splashes when you swap characters she's actually fantastic for hydro application. Decent buffer too! I actually built her for Ayato mono hydro way back (Ayato, Kazu, Candace, Xingqiu = surprisingly strong) and it's been really nice having another team where she really shines!
I reeeeally wish the past events were re-playable. I'd love to go do Parade of Providence again just to hang out with the Sumeru besties again... Layla def my favourite shielder too!
I got her c6 less than a month after her release banner ended. Did not complain as I liked her but... she still hasn't left me alone. Every other 10 pull I get on any banner she appears.
I STRONGLY recommend Harbinger of Dawn if you don't have an HP sword. She really doesn't need the ER (40 energy burst) or passives of typical support swords, and she brings some damage with her HP scaling. It's pretty easy to stay above 90% HP and the Crit does help her contribute more to the team.
I've seen a lot of people say this, but I'm skeptical! How much damage does Layla provide with your build? 🤔 When I first got her I did build her with HoD, but her damage was so low that it was like a 1k difference over the course of a rotation. Not nothing, of course, but so small that it felt kinda pointless, and instead switched her to Sacrificial so that I could refresh her shield mid-cast occasionally. Like Saurus I did end up getting a Key of Khaj-Nisut though so it's all academic to me at this point, but it's legit interesting to figure out what the actual trade-offs are!
I prefer fav so that the white particles help other team members' bursts (Xiangling, Kazuha, Neuvillette, Furina, etc). This is the same reason why support Dehya wants a fav greatsword despite never using her burst.
Funny you uploaded this cause I’m currently using her as shielder on friendship team with DPS Xianyun, Sara and Faruzan, i did miss her event debut but played the second one which was great and made me interested in her bipolar personality.
I adore Layla - she's a fabulous to bring along when you need a shielder and if you have that c1 it's an easy co-op shield to bring when playing with friends. I love my Zhongli but I'm not a whale so I don't have that co-op shield goodness from him. Too many people sleep on Layla - she's an absolutely EXCELLENT shielder to have in your ranks! 🥰 I have Dockhand on mine and if the weapon banner weren't such a trap I'd have rolled for Key of Khaj for her before Dockhand existed for her. I ran Sac Sword on her first though (passed it along to Kirara after she was done with it) so that's an excellent choice too 🙌Thank you for another wonderful video!
Right?! She gets so overlooked, and people act like I'm crazy when I say she's close to being as good as Zhongli, and potentially more useful in some teams due to cryo... Seriously slept on by so many people!
I love Layla as well. 90, crowned, c3, with ~46k HP on tenacity set. (Using Dockhand, maybe I'll eventually get Key). Unfortunately, my 2 main teams I roll with have no use for a cryo shield (Arlecchino-Chevreuse and Navia plunge). But I play her whenever I can possibly make use of her. Her hangout event was one of my favorites, and I really want her to appear in future Sumeru story quests. A quest with a Collei-Faruzan-Layla group interaction would be amazing and so much fun, the chemistry of that group together would probably be some of the best in the game in my opinion. Her design, voice lines, and personality are all great.
In mono-cryo, Layla on HP/HP/HP Tenacity with Jade Cutter is really good. Paired with Shenhe (Noblesse), Ayaka and Kazuha (Venerer), she provides the smallest contribution to total team damage, but it is not negligible. This is my go-to team for one-cycling the Millennial Pearl Seahorse and Solitary Suanni. I really want her c6.
Ooh interesting team! I've been using Chongyun against the Seahorse, along with Kazu, Furina, and Xianyun, since that also means you get cryo application from three sword users too. Your team sounds even more fun though!
It’s funny- a couple recent pulls, as the 4* animation started, twice I’ve said “Layla constellation!” and weirdly it was Layla both times- once was off-banner and the other was the weapon banner. I haven’t used her a ton, but I did Crown her shield. ☺️
I first got Layla when pulling for Nahida, and she has always been reliable. I now have her at C4 which is great, and uses 4pc Tenacity (triple HP%), which makes her team nearly unstoppable. While I do have the Dockhand, I gave her the Alley Flash, because at level 90 she's already at 41,000 hp, and doesn't really need any more...additionally, it looks so good on her. I don't use her as much as I did before I pulled Wriothesley, but my favourite team for her is designed around area denial hyperbloom; with Ayato, Layla, Raiden, and Tighnari. Ayato's burst is a massive hydro applicator, which combines beautifully with Layla's shield and burst, and then allows you to let loose with Tighnari's skill Charged attacks and burst to create bloom cores, and trigger Raiden's skill coordinated attacks for a delightful mix of hyperbloom, aggravate, and spread. If you have time left in the rotation, Ayato gets a chance to use his skill and keep things frozen and mix in some electro-charged and superconduct to the elemental reactions, until his burst can be used to start it all off again.
I personally love it when they make shielders that offer a bit more than shielding. Yea Zhongli is great if you only want a shield. But he ends up being a dps loss because that's all he provides for the team. Right now I've been using Layla with my C0R1 Clorinde, and been loving it. (Since Layla C4 can boost Normal attacks, which Clorinde wants) My go to has been Kirara for a while just because Quicken comps.
To be fair to Zhongli, he does provide a 20% resistance shred (and usually 4p Tenacity for people), so he does have a very rare benefit there. Layla's C4 I tend to ignore since it's so weak sadly, but overall I do prefer Layla because cryo is so much more useful than geo! I need to use Kirara more... my go-to with Clorinde has been Baizhu - Furina/Baizhu/Nahida/Clorinde is legit ridiculously strong - been too long since I used Kirara for something and she'd be such a great fit for Clorinde!
After 3 years of daily grinding and light spending, I mostly use 5* star characters now. The exceptions are Layla and occasionally Fischl and Yanfei. Layla is a permanent fixture and I usually choose her over Zhongli as a shielder. Plus she's too freaking cute and I love her characterization as well.
Im so happy I see sacrificial sword being metion here! Everyone says Fav. Is best, but I struggled to see any reason for me, since Sacrificial allows for better shielf uptime (and if you rotations are out of sync, the skill reset can help with syncing kits) Also it overall even just LOOKS better on her!
Yeah true, the drip is perfect on sacrificial! Mine has the Key, but in co-op I sometimes bring either Sacrificial or Favonius - in co-op specifically I'd say Favonius is equal to Sacrificial, since Layla's on-field all the time, and it lets her be a battery for all the other players; Sacrificial is still just as good though.
sumeru events advertised layla so well... but i already forgot what they were about except for like little idea of the plot. i really enjoyed them yet honestly it's too easy to forget cause that parade still didn't inout anything in the lore so i don't have to remember it all the time... quite sad and honestly most sumeru events are like this, so good but only in the moment and after they disappear like a dream after waking up. and as time went on my fully invested layla just left all teams cause genshin's constantly changing diversity and requirements didn't demand for her, telling the truth I don't even use often my very much loved zhongli too. im more into healing rather than shielding and zhongli makes sense for my account only for xiao team cause i love their interactions and for my mono geo with itto ningguang chiori and him. so layla has even less demand to be on most of my fav teams. i love her so much yet gosh i care about every character but have never enough resources to maximize everyone...
I went through a long stretch of almost never using shielders either, but recentl I've foudn a little mroe use for them again with flimsier characters/those who appreciate not being interrupted (including by dashing) heh! Same though, I recently realised I can no longer take "everyone" to 90, and will have to leave some people I level for fun at 75-80 because the game is so stingy with resources (especially the elemental gems that you need a crapton of for the find ascencion).
Hangouts are, on some level canon. Heizou actually referenced something he says that's only in his hangout during the Arataki event this patch, and Collei's relationship with Faruzan in Cyno's second story quest only truly makes sense if you played Faruzan's hangout too (otherwise, no one would know that she had been trying to get Collei to be her student for a very long time now). So don't disparage Layla's growth in the hangouts. At least one aspect might have an extension of sorts in other areas of the game as well. Also Layla's shield is ridiculously strong, and I find people only try to make it seem bad because of Diona. What they don't get is that you don't need to have healing in your kit if you just don't take damage, which Layla does very well. I love how unconditional her shield is too in comparison to other non-Zhongli units. It's on a skill, doesn't require her own personal field time, and it's a very quick cast. Personally love to pair her up with Neuvillette. I tried to get an Arlecchino melt team going, but I found there was no pair of cryos that really kept the cryo aura on enemies consistently. If anyone has any suggestions, especially if it involves Layla as one of the cryos, I'd be all ears.
Oooh I didn't catch that - very interesting. I wish they'd make it clear what's canon and what isn't though, really hoping it's the entire thing because Layla's growth was so lovely to see...
I actually really like Layla in mono cryo teams. Especially Ganyus. It's a much more comfy AOE team than Ayaka because it's non burst reliant. In the abyss that leads to less restarts.
Layla is part in so many of my teams. Even Zhongli is hardly a match for her because, though his shield is stronger, he doesn't apply elements to set up reactions - unlike Layla. It's fun to have her shield and burst up, throw Amber's bunny and suck it up with every enemy around using Jeans E skill. If mobs still survive the gigantic melt-explosion, Jean throws everybody before you for Diluc to send his Phoenix who sweeps the remains clear. And Layla's shield design also lowkey confirms the "sky of Tevat is fake" rumor.
layla is my favorite character in the entirety of genshin impact story-wise as well as one of my favorites to play (she's on genuinely Every fixed team i have and i don't regret it one bit) and this video ABSOLUTELY made my day. as sad as it makes me in general that she does so little damage, im SO glad that you mentioned how useless the hybrid build tends to be, as well as how great her cryo application is. SO many people push that she can do damage when having her built as a pure shielder is so, so much more useful and plays into her every strength. even mentioning noblesse as a set!! in my freeze team kokomi uses exclusively tenacity, so i keep layla on noblesse and her 12 second cooldown on burst gives it 100% uptime. also it just looks REALLY pretty on her. so so SO glad to see someone who both greatly appreciates her as a character and actually understands the best ways to play her. absolutely incredible video :]
I love layla! I had no 5 star shield until this banner with my lucky baizhu so she really carried my yoimia team in the abyss since while i can dodge i get distracted and forget to do so. Her 100% uptime is really useful, her shield is easy to build and I’m looking into pulling nilous sword for her if i like the weapons on the banner for her
Good stuff! If I've learned anything about HoYo over the years, its that they love media. With that in mind, I think they are playing off of Fight Club with Layla's split personality. I don't think they thought TOO much about accurate representation of a mental health condition (Not saying that they aren't aware of it, lord knows they've tackled a few heavier themes, just that it wasn't a focus for her design).
I've had her for ages but I wasn't very interested in shields. Until I pulled Arlecchino ^^ I spent the last weeks being shocked at how great and at the same time underrated she is ^^ Oh, and she is the perfect depiction of my two ADHD personas XD: "Wa... Wait, what?" and "LET'S GET SOME SHIT DONE!!! I AM UNSTOPPABLE!!"
I built Layla as a dmg dealer, just because i got a jade cutter accidentally. I also happened to have a cryo set already. I pair her with furina for both the defensive and offensive team.
I like the design, and I accidentally got her c6 pulling for Baizhu so guess we gotta build that. Frankly the shielding is very strong, tanking a lot of big damage hits, compared to my new Baizhu's shields definitely a lot stronger. Off field cryo application also pretty strong ngl, that burst recharges in no time. Since Arlecchino can heal herself, and Bennett provides enough healing for the off field chars already, I feel like Arlecchino, Bennett and Layla are a perfect match for a melt team. Currently I added Sucrose to this comp and the team feels solid. But frankly Arlecchino + Bennett shreds everything already so any team with that giga built SS+ tier main dps feels solid.
I use Layla as a defensive character in Hyperbloom teams, her constat cryo off field (E/Q) makes enemies with annoying mechanics stay freeze and easy targets, i prefer her over Zhongli in this specific team. Also you should try Instructor set, sure you will lose a little bit of Sheild, but its still a good sheild and well played she can buff EM.
Yess 100%! One of my favourite overworld teams has her in it, it's just so comfy (Layla, Kokomi, Nahida, Kuki). I foddered all my 4 star artifacts years ago now... tempted to start trying to remember to store any instructor ones with potential, but it feels a bit late at this point 😂
i actually liked her and upgraded ever since i got her like 6 times on nahidas rerun(?) banner i pulled like ~140+ times on that banner... yes i grinded daily and haven't spent 😭 ended up getting nahida last 10 minutes on 75th (also being THE last 10 pull)
I got extremely lucky while being unlucky on this banner. I did 8 ten pulls and lost my 50/50 so no Yae Miko but I got 8 Laylas (one multi without her and one with double Layla) I love her, she is really cool and her kit is great.i like to play with HoD sword and cryo cup with Shenhe to have a defensive unit who can deal nice dmg too in mono cryo =D She still have an HP circlet and her usual set =3
as a relatively new player, after getting scara, furazan, and layla in a lucky ten pull on his banner and trying his test run, she really is good with him. Scara gets a 20% crit rate buff from cryo using his skill, which allows more crit damage focused artifacts in conjunction with is passive, and the shield helps protect scara given how squishy he is
Bro. I "accidentally" ised her in my Arlecchino team (to build froendship lvl) and holy crap now I cant play without her! Her (C6)+ XQ (also C6) make it so im never staggered AND the enemies get either frozen or have cryo/hydro on them ready to be vaped/melted. Shes sick!
Lalya's my fav 4 star by far and when i got her during her 1st banner, she's never left my Xiao team and has been a core member to my Lyney, Neuvi, and Navia teams. In Layla we trust!!
If only she did something more felt than just shielding. The reason Zhongli is still preferred is not only the longer duration, but because of the 20 res shred. They could have made Layla a better cryo applicator because if she was then I would have built her already.
She's a better cryo applicator than people give her credit for, especially if you have her cons! Extra application when characters in her shield use their skills (especially good if you've got multicast like Saurus mentioned), plus even more from her burst - she's viable even on her own imo!
I tried to get them on Wanderer's Banner, but just ended up with C3 Faruzan and Hat Guy himself. I have more pulls available, but I'm saving those for Sigewinne (who from what I can tell seems to basically be Hydro Baizhu). Oh well, she's not locked to a specific banner, so I'll probably get them eventually. Regarding her split personality, it seems relatively respectful, though the bar to pass tends to be really low due to how many bad portrayals there are. Generally you can say that a split personality is "good" with as little as "the different personalities actually work together as a team." There's also the fact that, beyond "sleepwalking", there's no fantastical explanation for why Stars' Blessing exists, which is good because there doesn't need to be one for real people to have similar experiences. It's somewhat amusing that Yae Miko of all characters is one of the first that she met, as Layla actually isn't the first plural unit in Genshin, with the most well known one being someone Yae Miko knows very well. Miko would probably be more likely than most to notice the difference between Daylight and Stars' Blessing due to her own experience. (I also kind of want to put Layla on a team with Raiden Shogun and no one else and argue it's a full team of 4.)
I didn't even think of that with Yae! I wonder if it was on purpose 👀 I do rmemeber Yae's presence being somewhat surprising (not unwelcome of course!) even thoguh she'd said somethign aout visiting sumeru at some point!
I love her,finally got her C6 too. She is great in overworld,very comfy pick. Although I'm not sure how valuable shielders or even healers are gonna be in 4.7 Imaginarium T. Hoyo is very cheeky with the new abyss because they started to push out all these 5 star DPS chars from Fontaine onwards. Those are the ones that will have an elevated value,being self sufficient dmg dealers that circumvent the rng char selection. If you only get supports while going through the floors then GG well played. XD
She is 2nd best shielder! I use her in my Hyperbloom team and that is my main team (Nahida, XQ, Layla and Kuki) so she prevent interruptions and she have help me much when i fight against bosses. My Layla have Dockhand sword i think r2
I love leyla she's so adorable, i use Leyla with my hu too in spiral abyss and she is such a great shielder. I just need 1 more constellation for her c4 to really synergies with hu tao
Yeah Layla was the character that I added to my Hu Tao team that made me really enjoy Hu Tao for the first time ever (my HT was an accident haha)! Double hydro + layla + HT rotation is just so smooth fluid, and even without a healer, with Layla there no one's at risk!
I am so thankful for my stupidely cracked ToM pieces that allow me to run her full HP and still have enough crit to make use of her sub-dps synergy with shenhe - but otherwise I agree, if I didn't have those artefacts I'd use her as a dedicated shielder and nothing else. One of my favourite characters in genshin, sadly I didn't manage to get any constellations aside from the free copy in that event... thank you very much for this vid !
I love my Layla so much. As I don’t have Shenhe she’s a staple in my Ayaka team (although rosaria is nearly built so might experiment a bit with her too). Haven’t yet tried her with neuvillette actually (i finally got a use for my diona with him and i really enjoy her in that team), but that’d be fun too.

Thing with Layla, is that she suffers from the same curse that Zhongli suffers from. People recommend builds or important part of their builds based upon extreme case uses or unreliable character mechanics. For Layla, she isn't really meant to do that much damage herself, and just ss you said, her E seems made to fit with the Tenacity 4pc bonus. ZL on the other hand suffers from people's overrated perception on his Stone Stele and thus recommending Tenacity, even though his Stele is super fragile, rendering the Tenacity 4pc bonus barely noticeable due to lack of proccing, especially when compared to other sets like 4pc Petra, which grants 35% Elemental DMG bonus while being much more reliable and in tune with his Hold E's CD (it lasts 10'' compared to Tenacity's 3'' buff, with ZL's hold E having a 12'' cooldown). From my own experience, it's a goated set. I use it for my full C0R0 Neuvi-Furi-Kazu-ZL team, which exceeds what a traditional Neuvi-Fischl-Kazu-Tenacity ZL can do (I tested it, also a Neuvi-Furi-Kazu-ZL team makes swirling and crystallizing Hydro way, way easier). People should leave Tenacity for Layla, not ZL in my opinion.
Huh yeah that's a very good point! I'm still unconvinced by Petra though... In most teams you want your main DPS to be the reaction driver, which means that you want a *different* elemental aura on the enemies - e.g. in a vape team, you want them to have a hydro aura. One of the reasons I use geo much less is that crystallise consumes some of that aura, and you end up with fewer reactions... and if I've understood Petra properly (never farmed it personally), then this means it would usually give the wrong elemental damage buff. E.g. in that vape team, you'd be getting a hydro damage buff for your on-field pyro character 😬 Maybe it doesn't work like that in practice? Can definitely see that it'd be fantastic in non-reaction teams like the one you mentioned though!
@@raptori Oh yeah for sure, in dual-element based teams it's definitely super tricky and not worth it, but then again, the buff does last longer and is more reliable (regardless of element) than Tenacity. Either way you wouldn't want ZL in a vape team regardless, as the crystallize reaction triggered by his E and Stone Stele disrupt the enemies' elemental aura. So idk, in that case I guess that it's completely all about trial and error and looking for what fits you best.

I used layla in tao melt but can't see a reason past that, it's not like the app was bad but tao needs a healer to enable furina's maracheusse same with freminet, although I'd say it's more promising
As much as I love Layla and Genshin as a whole realizing I just plain missed out on these important moments forever is SO disappointing. Genshin really shouldn't lock away story and character moments like this, its such a horrible decision.
i built my layla as a bit mixed on hp and dps, talking 40k hp and 50/120cv (with harbinger of dawn), which i think is a pretty good balance. going further in either direction doesn't seem worth it. also i found the best team for her is as a replacement on my double hydro hyperbloom team. dendro has that weird reaction with cryo and hydro where cryo applied along side dendro can extend how many times hydro can interact with dendro, so it lets you have a similar number of hyperblooms with less hydro application. great for when you have a dendro driver for the team, though i doubt a hydro driver would work as well, or at all. in my experience layla on the team is pretty similar on damage output even swapping out xingqiu for her, and is a great option for the more annoying abyss rotations that require a defensive option. also great when there's certain element shields or enemies that some cryo, or just freeze would come in handy, she's just an overall plus to hyperbloom teams.
@@raptori i mean its not that great, they were hand-me-down artifacts from diona, and they have a ton of room for improvement on their substats. from other examples i've seen, my hp is kinda low. i've seen true hp% builds with hp scaling weapons hit 80 - 90k hp. and that's not all coming just from the weapon.
@@xXzman9000Xx I'm guessing the 80-90k HP is with buffs... On my main account, Layla has the Key of Khaj-Nisut, triple HP% main stats, 4p Tenacity, 14% HP from flower and feather combined, plus a couple flat HP rolls as well, and she has 49k HP unbuffed. There isn't really much scope for improvement from there. 40k is pretty damn close!
Layla was one of characters i really wanted when started playing Genshin and got her on my first pull! Could not build her as i was a scared newbie but nowadays even when I have built zhongli- im not a fan of his playstyle really, but Layla is so much fun to play along with my Furina/Neuvilette. //edit i have found out i have not been using Zhongli at all...
Layla was my main shielder for a long time until I got Zhongli & still overrides him on many teams as she provides so much more than just a shield. As I don't have Shenhe she is the cryo resonance for Ayaka & she shields Wanderer while buffing his skill. She's now at C6 & will finally have her skill crowned this week, currently at 6/12/12.
Love my Layla! I even C6 triple crowned her, and her ATK is still only 1177 🤣 but her shield is unbreakable against anything but bosses! I found the Fleuve Cendre Ferryman a good match for her, weapon wise. Funny that you got her on Yae Miko's banner, as my main team currently is Layla - Yae Miko - Mono - Navia, works very nicely!
You know I always knew people kinda didn’t like hangouts but I honestly never could guess why, aside from repeating lines which I believe they’re finally removed, I doubt it’s a Lynette only thing but who knows. I still heavily disagree tho I think most hangouts are so successful in showing exactly who the character is in a way that tbh some SQ even miss. Now I adore Paimon but there are tons who don’t so a bonus ig that she doesn’t appear here (?). For continuity is a little bit tricky, I understand the expectation is on the floor but I wouldn’t say nonexistent, bc of Noelle hangout and maybe I’m just misremembering too but I thought Kaveh did have a reference to his as well. Anyways I believe Lynette has set a new standard bc it also told a very interesting story rather than being more like a slice of life in the episode of x character. Will this lead to hangouts to be even rare por since they are a bit more high production? Maybe and it does suck bc yeah we should strive for both. Still even if they are getting better it really doesn’t erase the, sometimes, heavy lifting that does to a character even with old ones. Biased or not Ningguangs is reallly good and you can tell who did her hangout and who has her pictured with what Zhongli says about her and nothing else, even characters who aren’t that complicated to understand like our lovely Layla here sometimes you have big CCs that mischaracterize her so criminally
I love Layla. I got her to C4 on my alt account which I think is good. I didn't even know that there were any HP swords in GI because I wasn't even playing during any of those events. No Zhongli or DIona.

@@loskrem It's so easy to not notice this kinda stuff honestly. I've known multiple people who got Zhongli, and just thought his "awesome shield" was like, enhanced crystallise shields. Genshin's skill descriptions are trash, and many people don't bother watching content, so there's no way they'd know!
I love her hangout event quest and Pokémon-esque introduction but I’d use her more if I could get a HP% sword; I ended up w/ that Fontaine HP% claymore recently instead
A good use is for freeze wanderer too, if you want to use bennet on the other side of the abyss IE Wanderer Layla, Farazan (Yelan or Xingqiu) Or even just wanderer in general since Zhonli cant activate his any of his elemental buffs Also good alongside Arlechnio as a shielder/sub cryo applicator

It’s so easy to build her lots of HP so my Layla is with Favonius Sword to help the team gain some energy. My favorite is to use with Wanderer Xingqiu freeze teams ❄️

Layla is fantastic! She pairs especially well with Wanderer since she can allow him to not only get the oh-so-needed shield, but also has an interaction w/ Bennett that enables Wanderer to get both pyro and cryo for his passive buffs!

It's a shame that this game doesn't have a way for you to replay certain events that you've missed, It would make the game more cherishable.
Yeah it's really sad - especially since there's a ton of important things in a bunch of them. That foreshadowing between Yae and Raiden at the end of the current Itto music event for example!!!
Is even worse when you consider the lore behind these events, as if you missed the event, you may also miss vital information for either a character or the world itself.
For a game so focus on lore, it sure has such a hideous way of showing it.

I agree! It's also really weird they don't allow that considering HSR does! Some of the best character interactions and moments have happened during memorable events.. if anything, I feel like a lot of the time the characters perosnality shines far more in events than in their own story quests even!
yeah i had no idea Enkanomiya had event till few days ago- and i have been playing genshin for a year now! its wild probably how much lore i have missed. Probably one day i will watch it on yt but doing it in game would be much more fun.

I love the way her chains sound when she walks around. Her character is so unique and funny.
Layla is also one of my fav 4*, her design is great, her personality is touching and her gameplay came in clutch for my Zhongliless account, she carried my Scara since day 1 and now my Arle is the one enjoying her the most. Easy to build, very comfy and the details in her animations are top notches.

I built her as a shield bot with the Key and triple HP Tenacity, unlike Zhongli, her only downside is that her shield only last 12 secs while Zhongli last 20 secs. During rotation, I often swap her last before swapping for DPS/Driver.
Her shield lasting 12 seconds honestly doesn't even matter since you can always replace it immediately with how fast the uptime is. Layla got them infinite shields.

I have been using Zhongli since his first banner in 1.2 or whenever that was and I am so used to him as a shielder that everyone else just feels inferior. I will have to give Layla a second look. I barely ever use her. I have also been playing Diona for so long that I generally always pick her for a cryo shields, plus her heals are great. Thanks for reminding me that Layla exists. I really love her design and she has a super cute personality.
Definitely worth it! If you get her HP high enough then her shield's raw strength is pretty close to Zhongli's, the only real difference between the two on my account is their elements, so his has that slight boost from being a geo shield, while she's slightly weaker against most elements but ridiculously strong against cryo enemies. In abyss lineups like the current one she's noticeably more comfortable than him, can just tank multiple hits from all those cryo enemies!

Layla is definitely worth it. She's easily the second best shielder.
i had heavily invested in diona as my second shielder for the other half of abyss for a long time. however the moment i got and tried out layla, diona has been perma benched. diona's shielding just feels so much worse, and her cryo application is worse, and the healing is circle impact which sucks, especially in higher abyss floors, especially in recent months which have enemies all over the place and or high movement enemies.
Personally, Layla is one of, if not the most underrated 4⭐️ characters in the game. She is precisely what I want from a 4⭐️ character: Good, but not overpower; Good constellations, but not mandatory to fix the character; to have at worst a small niche, but being great at such niche. And for being the 2nd best shielder in the game, I think she does a fantastic job.
Is a shame that most 4⭐️ don't follow this philosophy. Most of them either are way too broken for the game's own good (Bennet), rely way too much on C6 (Dori), or are straight up bad (Candace).
I was lucky enough to get her at C1 with 20 wishes thanks to Baizhu rerun. When I have the resources to build her, sure I will.
Yesss exactly! If they'd focus on 4 stars being great at their small niches, then there'd be space for SO many characters. Plus with the different elements there'd still be tons of variety - for example an anemo version of Layla could work in so many different ways, e.g. maybe their shield absorbs the first element which hits it, and is extra strong against that one, etc.
Agreed, I love characters that fill a specific niche but do it perfectly! I do suspect the reason she's so underrated is that a lot of guides seem to suggest a semi-sub DPS role is the way to go... D:

@@Otherface Yeah she's surprisingly good - her burst hydro application doesn't have an ICD so that's once every couple of seconds at C6, and if you then add in the extra splashes when you swap characters she's actually fantastic for hydro application. Decent buffer too! I actually built her for Ayato mono hydro way back (Ayato, Kazu, Candace, Xingqiu = surprisingly strong) and it's been really nice having another team where she really shines!
I reeeeally wish the past events were re-playable. I'd love to go do Parade of Providence again just to hang out with the Sumeru besties again...

I got her c6 less than a month after her release banner ended. Did not complain as I liked her but... she still hasn't left me alone. Every other 10 pull I get on any banner she appears.
I STRONGLY recommend Harbinger of Dawn if you don't have an HP sword.
She really doesn't need the ER (40 energy burst) or passives of typical support swords, and she brings some damage with her HP scaling. It's pretty easy to stay above 90% HP and the Crit does help her contribute more to the team.

When I first got her I did build her with HoD, but her damage was so low that it was like a 1k difference over the course of a rotation. Not nothing, of course, but so small that it felt kinda pointless, and instead switched her to Sacrificial so that I could refresh her shield mid-cast occasionally.
Like Saurus I did end up getting a Key of Khaj-Nisut though so it's all academic to me at this point, but it's legit interesting to figure out what the actual trade-offs are!
I prefer fav so that the white particles help other team members' bursts (Xiangling, Kazuha, Neuvillette, Furina, etc). This is the same reason why support Dehya wants a fav greatsword despite never using her burst.
Funny you uploaded this cause I’m currently using her as shielder on friendship team with DPS Xianyun, Sara and Faruzan, i did miss her event debut but played the second one which was great and made me interested in her bipolar personality.
I adore Layla - she's a fabulous to bring along when you need a shielder and if you have that c1 it's an easy co-op shield to bring when playing with friends. I love my Zhongli but I'm not a whale so I don't have that co-op shield goodness from him. Too many people sleep on Layla - she's an absolutely EXCELLENT shielder to have in your ranks! 🥰 I have Dockhand on mine and if the weapon banner weren't such a trap I'd have rolled for Key of Khaj for her before Dockhand existed for her. I ran Sac Sword on her first though (passed it along to Kirara after she was done with it) so that's an excellent choice too 🙌Thank you for another wonderful video!

Right?! She gets so overlooked, and people act like I'm crazy when I say she's close to being as good as Zhongli, and potentially more useful in some teams due to cryo... Seriously slept on by so many people!
I love Layla as well. 90, crowned, c3, with ~46k HP on tenacity set. (Using Dockhand, maybe I'll eventually get Key). Unfortunately, my 2 main teams I roll with have no use for a cryo shield (Arlecchino-Chevreuse and Navia plunge). But I play her whenever I can possibly make use of her. Her hangout event was one of my favorites, and I really want her to appear in future Sumeru story quests. A quest with a Collei-Faruzan-Layla group interaction would be amazing and so much fun, the chemistry of that group together would probably be some of the best in the game in my opinion. Her design, voice lines, and personality are all great.
I hope to see more of her as well, especially in permanent content!
In mono-cryo, Layla on HP/HP/HP Tenacity with Jade Cutter is really good. Paired with Shenhe (Noblesse), Ayaka and Kazuha (Venerer), she provides the smallest contribution to total team damage, but it is not negligible. This is my go-to team for one-cycling the Millennial Pearl Seahorse and Solitary Suanni. I really want her c6.
Ooh interesting team! I've been using Chongyun against the Seahorse, along with Kazu, Furina, and Xianyun, since that also means you get cryo application from three sword users too. Your team sounds even more fun though!
It’s funny- a couple recent pulls, as the 4* animation started, twice I’ve said “Layla constellation!” and weirdly it was Layla both times- once was off-banner and the other was the weapon banner.
I haven’t used her a ton, but I did Crown her shield. ☺️
Layla is my favorite character in all of genshin. So glad to see a video that showcases her! 10000000% agree with everything here.
I first got Layla when pulling for Nahida, and she has always been reliable. I now have her at C4 which is great, and uses 4pc Tenacity (triple HP%), which makes her team nearly unstoppable.
While I do have the Dockhand, I gave her the Alley Flash, because at level 90 she's already at 41,000 hp, and doesn't really need any more...additionally, it looks so good on her.
I don't use her as much as I did before I pulled Wriothesley, but my favourite team for her is designed around area denial hyperbloom; with Ayato, Layla, Raiden, and Tighnari. Ayato's burst is a massive hydro applicator, which combines beautifully with Layla's shield and burst, and then allows you to let loose with Tighnari's skill Charged attacks and burst to create bloom cores, and trigger Raiden's skill coordinated attacks for a delightful mix of hyperbloom, aggravate, and spread. If you have time left in the rotation, Ayato gets a chance to use his skill and keep things frozen and mix in some electro-charged and superconduct to the elemental reactions, until his burst can be used to start it all off again.
Oh alley flash really looks liek it was made for layla! Also I like the sound of this team I'll give it a go :D
Layla is truly slept on! She’s protecting my Arlecchino and Wanderer against everything and is also very easy to build and use 😄
I personally love it when they make shielders that offer a bit more than shielding. Yea Zhongli is great if you only want a shield. But he ends up being a dps loss because that's all he provides for the team. Right now I've been using Layla with my C0R1 Clorinde, and been loving it. (Since Layla C4 can boost Normal attacks, which Clorinde wants) My go to has been Kirara for a while just because Quicken comps.
To be fair to Zhongli, he does provide a 20% resistance shred (and usually 4p Tenacity for people), so he does have a very rare benefit there. Layla's C4 I tend to ignore since it's so weak sadly, but overall I do prefer Layla because cryo is so much more useful than geo!
I need to use Kirara more... my go-to with Clorinde has been Baizhu - Furina/Baizhu/Nahida/Clorinde is legit ridiculously strong - been too long since I used Kirara for something and she'd be such a great fit for Clorinde!
After 3 years of daily grinding and light spending, I mostly use 5* star characters now. The exceptions are Layla and occasionally Fischl and Yanfei. Layla is a permanent fixture and I usually choose her over Zhongli as a shielder. Plus she's too freaking cute and I love her characterization as well.

Everyone says Fav. Is best, but I struggled to see any reason for me, since Sacrificial allows for better shielf uptime (and if you rotations are out of sync, the skill reset can help with syncing kits)

Mine has the Key, but in co-op I sometimes bring either Sacrificial or Favonius - in co-op specifically I'd say Favonius is equal to Sacrificial, since Layla's on-field all the time, and it lets her be a battery for all the other players; Sacrificial is still just as good though.

sumeru events advertised layla so well... but i already forgot what they were about except for like little idea of the plot. i really enjoyed them yet honestly it's too easy to forget cause that parade still didn't inout anything in the lore so i don't have to remember it all the time... quite sad and honestly most sumeru events are like this, so good but only in the moment and after they disappear like a dream after waking up. and as time went on my fully invested layla just left all teams cause genshin's constantly changing diversity and requirements didn't demand for her, telling the truth I don't even use often my very much loved zhongli too. im more into healing rather than shielding and zhongli makes sense for my account only for xiao team cause i love their interactions and for my mono geo with itto ningguang chiori and him. so layla has even less demand to be on most of my fav teams. i love her so much yet gosh i care about every character but have never enough resources to maximize everyone...
I went through a long stretch of almost never using shielders either, but recentl I've foudn a little mroe use for them again with flimsier characters/those who appreciate not being interrupted (including by dashing) heh!
Same though, I recently realised I can no longer take "everyone" to 90, and will have to leave some people I level for fun at 75-80 because the game is so stingy with resources (especially the elemental gems that you need a crapton of for the find ascencion).
Hangouts are, on some level canon. Heizou actually referenced something he says that's only in his hangout during the Arataki event this patch, and Collei's relationship with Faruzan in Cyno's second story quest only truly makes sense if you played Faruzan's hangout too (otherwise, no one would know that she had been trying to get Collei to be her student for a very long time now). So don't disparage Layla's growth in the hangouts. At least one aspect might have an extension of sorts in other areas of the game as well.
Also Layla's shield is ridiculously strong, and I find people only try to make it seem bad because of Diona. What they don't get is that you don't need to have healing in your kit if you just don't take damage, which Layla does very well. I love how unconditional her shield is too in comparison to other non-Zhongli units. It's on a skill, doesn't require her own personal field time, and it's a very quick cast. Personally love to pair her up with Neuvillette. I tried to get an Arlecchino melt team going, but I found there was no pair of cryos that really kept the cryo aura on enemies consistently. If anyone has any suggestions, especially if it involves Layla as one of the cryos, I'd be all ears.
The moment an actual off field cryo unit appears is the moment a lot of balance is a suggestion. Vape Hutao? Now Melt Hutao

I actually really like Layla in mono cryo teams. Especially Ganyus. It's a much more comfy AOE team than Ayaka because it's non burst reliant. In the abyss that leads to less restarts.
Layla is part in so many of my teams. Even Zhongli is hardly a match for her because, though his shield is stronger, he doesn't apply elements to set up reactions - unlike Layla.
It's fun to have her shield and burst up, throw Amber's bunny and suck it up with every enemy around using Jeans E skill. If mobs still survive the gigantic melt-explosion, Jean throws everybody before you for Diluc to send his Phoenix who sweeps the remains clear.
And Layla's shield design also lowkey confirms the "sky of Tevat is fake" rumor.
layla is my favorite character in the entirety of genshin impact story-wise as well as one of my favorites to play (she's on genuinely Every fixed team i have and i don't regret it one bit) and this video ABSOLUTELY made my day. as sad as it makes me in general that she does so little damage, im SO glad that you mentioned how useless the hybrid build tends to be, as well as how great her cryo application is. SO many people push that she can do damage when having her built as a pure shielder is so, so much more useful and plays into her every strength. even mentioning noblesse as a set!! in my freeze team kokomi uses exclusively tenacity, so i keep layla on noblesse and her 12 second cooldown on burst gives it 100% uptime. also it just looks REALLY pretty on her. so so SO glad to see someone who both greatly appreciates her as a character and actually understands the best ways to play her. absolutely incredible video :]

I love layla! I had no 5 star shield until this banner with my lucky baizhu so she really carried my yoimia team in the abyss since while i can dodge i get distracted and forget to do so. Her 100% uptime is really useful, her shield is easy to build and I’m looking into pulling nilous sword for her if i like the weapons on the banner for her

With that in mind, I think they are playing off of Fight Club with Layla's split personality.
I don't think they thought TOO much about accurate representation of a mental health condition (Not saying that they aren't aware of it, lord knows they've tackled a few heavier themes, just that it wasn't a focus for her design).

i built her before i left Genshin for WuWa. but yes, Layla is an amazing unit. Her shields are reliable as well as Zhongli’s.
I like the design, and I accidentally got her c6 pulling for Baizhu so guess we gotta build that.
Frankly the shielding is very strong, tanking a lot of big damage hits, compared to my new Baizhu's shields definitely a lot stronger. Off field cryo application also pretty strong ngl, that burst recharges in no time.
Since Arlecchino can heal herself, and Bennett provides enough healing for the off field chars already, I feel like Arlecchino, Bennett and Layla are a perfect match for a melt team. Currently I added Sucrose to this comp and the team feels solid.
But frankly Arlecchino + Bennett shreds everything already so any team with that giga built SS+ tier main dps feels solid.
Yeah that trio is just OP. I've usually been bringing Yelan or Xingqiu in that final slot, so Arle gets to vape a lot, and the damage is just awesome!

I use Layla as a defensive character in Hyperbloom teams, her constat cryo off field (E/Q) makes enemies with annoying mechanics stay freeze and easy targets, i prefer her over Zhongli in this specific team.
Also you should try Instructor set, sure you will lose a little bit of Sheild, but its still a good sheild and well played she can buff EM.
Yess 100%! One of my favourite overworld teams has her in it, it's just so comfy (Layla, Kokomi, Nahida, Kuki).
I foddered all my 4 star artifacts years ago now... tempted to start trying to remember to store any instructor ones with potential, but it feels a bit late at this point 😂

I got extremely lucky while being unlucky on this banner. I did 8 ten pulls and lost my 50/50 so no Yae Miko but I got 8 Laylas (one multi without her and one with double Layla)

as a relatively new player, after getting scara, furazan, and layla in a lucky ten pull on his banner and trying his test run, she really is good with him. Scara gets a 20% crit rate buff from cryo using his skill, which allows more crit damage focused artifacts in conjunction with is passive, and the shield helps protect scara given how squishy he is
Bro. I "accidentally" ised her in my Arlecchino team (to build froendship lvl) and holy crap now I cant play without her! Her (C6)+ XQ (also C6) make it so im never staggered AND the enemies get either frozen or have cryo/hydro on them ready to be vaped/melted. Shes sick!
Got her couple weeks ago and she is lvl90 now with lvl8 shield. Will test her with Nuvillette, Nahida and Raiden in the future abyss.
Lalya's my fav 4 star by far and when i got her during her 1st banner, she's never left my Xiao team and has been a core member to my Lyney, Neuvi, and Navia teams. In Layla we trust!!

If only she did something more felt than just shielding. The reason Zhongli is still preferred is not only the longer duration, but because of the 20 res shred. They could have made Layla a better cryo applicator because if she was then I would have built her already.
She's a better cryo applicator than people give her credit for, especially if you have her cons! Extra application when characters in her shield use their skills (especially good if you've got multicast like Saurus mentioned), plus even more from her burst - she's viable even on her own imo!
I have been building Diona as the shielder for my Navia team but you might have made me rethink this and to try and build Layla instead!
I use this character all the time and adore her!
I tried to get them on Wanderer's Banner, but just ended up with C3 Faruzan and Hat Guy himself. I have more pulls available, but I'm saving those for Sigewinne (who from what I can tell seems to basically be Hydro Baizhu). Oh well, she's not locked to a specific banner, so I'll probably get them eventually.
Regarding her split personality, it seems relatively respectful, though the bar to pass tends to be really low due to how many bad portrayals there are. Generally you can say that a split personality is "good" with as little as "the different personalities actually work together as a team." There's also the fact that, beyond "sleepwalking", there's no fantastical explanation for why Stars' Blessing exists, which is good because there doesn't need to be one for real people to have similar experiences.
It's somewhat amusing that Yae Miko of all characters is one of the first that she met, as Layla actually isn't the first plural unit in Genshin, with the most well known one being someone Yae Miko knows very well. Miko would probably be more likely than most to notice the difference between Daylight and Stars' Blessing due to her own experience. (I also kind of want to put Layla on a team with Raiden Shogun and no one else and argue it's a full team of 4.)
I didn't even think of that with Yae! I wonder if it was on purpose 👀 I do rmemeber Yae's presence being somewhat surprising (not unwelcome of course!) even thoguh she'd said somethign aout visiting sumeru at some point!

I love her,finally got her C6 too. She is great in overworld,very comfy pick. Although I'm not sure how valuable shielders or even healers are gonna be in 4.7 Imaginarium T. Hoyo is very cheeky with the new abyss because they started to push out all these 5 star DPS chars from Fontaine onwards. Those are the ones that will have an elevated value,being self sufficient dmg dealers that circumvent the rng char selection. If you only get supports while going through the floors then GG well played. XD
She is 2nd best shielder! I use her in my Hyperbloom team and that is my main team (Nahida, XQ, Layla and Kuki) so she prevent interruptions and she have help me much when i fight against bosses. My Layla have Dockhand sword i think r2
I love leyla she's so adorable, i use Leyla with my hu too in spiral abyss and she is such a great shielder. I just need 1 more constellation for her c4 to really synergies with hu tao
Yeah Layla was the character that I added to my Hu Tao team that made me really enjoy Hu Tao for the first time ever (my HT was an accident haha)! Double hydro + layla + HT rotation is just so smooth fluid, and even without a healer, with Layla there no one's at risk!

I am so thankful for my stupidely cracked ToM pieces that allow me to run her full HP and still have enough crit to make use of her sub-dps synergy with shenhe - but otherwise I agree, if I didn't have those artefacts I'd use her as a dedicated shielder and nothing else.

I love my Layla so much. As I don’t have Shenhe she’s a staple in my Ayaka team (although rosaria is nearly built so might experiment a bit with her too). Haven’t yet tried her with neuvillette actually (i finally got a use for my diona with him and i really enjoy her in that team), but that’d be fun too.

Thing with Layla, is that she suffers from the same curse that Zhongli suffers from. People recommend builds or important part of their builds based upon extreme case uses or unreliable character mechanics. For Layla, she isn't really meant to do that much damage herself, and just ss you said, her E seems made to fit with the Tenacity 4pc bonus. ZL on the other hand suffers from people's overrated perception on his Stone Stele and thus recommending Tenacity, even though his Stele is super fragile, rendering the Tenacity 4pc bonus barely noticeable due to lack of proccing, especially when compared to other sets like 4pc Petra, which grants 35% Elemental DMG bonus while being much more reliable and in tune with his Hold E's CD (it lasts 10'' compared to Tenacity's 3'' buff, with ZL's hold E having a 12'' cooldown). From my own experience, it's a goated set. I use it for my full C0R0 Neuvi-Furi-Kazu-ZL team, which exceeds what a traditional Neuvi-Fischl-Kazu-Tenacity ZL can do (I tested it, also a Neuvi-Furi-Kazu-ZL team makes swirling and crystallizing Hydro way, way easier).
People should leave Tenacity for Layla, not ZL in my opinion.

In most teams you want your main DPS to be the reaction driver, which means that you want a *different* elemental aura on the enemies - e.g. in a vape team, you want them to have a hydro aura. One of the reasons I use geo much less is that crystallise consumes some of that aura, and you end up with fewer reactions... and if I've understood Petra properly (never farmed it personally), then this means it would usually give the wrong elemental damage buff. E.g. in that vape team, you'd be getting a hydro damage buff for your on-field pyro character 😬
Maybe it doesn't work like that in practice?
Can definitely see that it'd be fantastic in non-reaction teams like the one you mentioned though!
@@raptori Oh yeah for sure, in dual-element based teams it's definitely super tricky and not worth it, but then again, the buff does last longer and is more reliable (regardless of element) than Tenacity. Either way you wouldn't want ZL in a vape team regardless, as the crystallize reaction triggered by his E and Stone Stele disrupt the enemies' elemental aura. So idk, in that case I guess that it's completely all about trial and error and looking for what fits you best.

I used layla in tao melt but can't see a reason past that, it's not like the app was bad but tao needs a healer to enable furina's maracheusse

As much as I love Layla and Genshin as a whole realizing I just plain missed out on these important moments forever is SO disappointing. Genshin really shouldn't lock away story and character moments like this, its such a horrible decision.

Layla is so underrated- 2nd strongest shield character, with the first being Zhongli, while also providing passive off-field damage

i built my layla as a bit mixed on hp and dps, talking 40k hp and 50/120cv (with harbinger of dawn), which i think is a pretty good balance. going further in either direction doesn't seem worth it.
also i found the best team for her is as a replacement on my double hydro hyperbloom team. dendro has that weird reaction with cryo and hydro where cryo applied along side dendro can extend how many times hydro can interact with dendro, so it lets you have a similar number of hyperblooms with less hydro application. great for when you have a dendro driver for the team, though i doubt a hydro driver would work as well, or at all.
in my experience layla on the team is pretty similar on damage output even swapping out xingqiu for her, and is a great option for the more annoying abyss rotations that require a defensive option. also great when there's certain element shields or enemies that some cryo, or just freeze would come in handy, she's just an overall plus to hyperbloom teams.
Those are some cracked artifacts! 40k HP is what our alt account has with a full HP build, so you've definitely got the best of both there 🎉
@@raptori i mean its not that great, they were hand-me-down artifacts from diona, and they have a ton of room for improvement on their substats.
from other examples i've seen, my hp is kinda low.
i've seen true hp% builds with hp scaling weapons hit 80 - 90k hp. and that's not all coming just from the weapon.
@@xXzman9000Xx I'm guessing the 80-90k HP is with buffs... On my main account, Layla has the Key of Khaj-Nisut, triple HP% main stats, 4p Tenacity, 14% HP from flower and feather combined, plus a couple flat HP rolls as well, and she has 49k HP unbuffed. There isn't really much scope for improvement from there.

Layla was one of characters i really wanted when started playing Genshin and got her on my first pull! Could not build her as i was a scared newbie but nowadays even when I have built zhongli- im not a fan of his playstyle really, but Layla is so much fun to play along with my Furina/Neuvilette. //edit i have found out i have not been using Zhongli at all...
Layla was my main shielder for a long time until I got Zhongli & still overrides him on many teams as she provides so much more than just a shield. As I don't have Shenhe she is the cryo resonance for Ayaka & she shields Wanderer while buffing his skill. She's now at C6 & will finally have her skill crowned this week, currently at 6/12/12.
Love my Layla! I even C6 triple crowned her, and her ATK is still only 1177 🤣 but her shield is unbreakable against anything but bosses! I found the Fleuve Cendre Ferryman a good match for her, weapon wise. Funny that you got her on Yae Miko's banner, as my main team currently is Layla - Yae Miko - Mono - Navia, works very nicely!
Mine c5 and she is the main shielder for my neuvi. She is a solid shielder in my opinion 😄
You know I always knew people kinda didn’t like hangouts but I honestly never could guess why, aside from repeating lines which I believe they’re finally removed, I doubt it’s a Lynette only thing but who knows. I still heavily disagree tho I think most hangouts are so successful in showing exactly who the character is in a way that tbh some SQ even miss. Now I adore Paimon but there are tons who don’t so a bonus ig that she doesn’t appear here (?). For continuity is a little bit tricky, I understand the expectation is on the floor but I wouldn’t say nonexistent, bc of Noelle hangout and maybe I’m just misremembering too but I thought Kaveh did have a reference to his as well. Anyways I believe Lynette has set a new standard bc it also told a very interesting story rather than being more like a slice of life in the episode of x character. Will this lead to hangouts to be even rare por since they are a bit more high production? Maybe and it does suck bc yeah we should strive for both. Still even if they are getting better it really doesn’t erase the, sometimes, heavy lifting that does to a character even with old ones. Biased or not Ningguangs is reallly good and you can tell who did her hangout and who has her pictured with what Zhongli says about her and nothing else, even characters who aren’t that complicated to understand like our lovely Layla here sometimes you have big CCs that mischaracterize her so criminally

@@loskrem It's so easy to not notice this kinda stuff honestly. I've known multiple people who got Zhongli, and just thought his "awesome shield" was like, enhanced crystallise shields. Genshin's skill descriptions are trash, and many people don't bother watching content, so there's no way they'd know!
I love her hangout event quest and Pokémon-esque introduction but I’d use her more if I could get a HP% sword; I ended up w/ that Fontaine HP% claymore recently instead
A good use is for freeze wanderer too, if you want to use bennet on the other side of the abyss
IE Wanderer Layla, Farazan (Yelan or Xingqiu)
Or even just wanderer in general since Zhonli cant activate his any of his elemental buffs
Also good alongside Arlechnio as a shielder/sub cryo applicator

Layla has been my dedicated shielder for ages. Even after I got Zhongli, I still gravites to Layla for my shielding. Mostly because her character is so likeable!

It’s so easy to build her lots of HP so my Layla is with Favonius Sword to help the team gain some energy. My favorite is to use with Wanderer Xingqiu freeze teams ❄️
