4.0 Artifact details have been revealed on Genshin's official website! Golden Troupe: 2p: 20% Skill damage bonus, 4p: 25% skill damage bonus, another 25% if off field (up to 70% including 2p) Marechausee Hunter: 2p: 15% NA/CA DMG bonus, 4p: 12% Crit rate for every HP change, max 3 stacks (36%), stacks last 5s. All artifacts released before update 3.0 have been added to the strongbox. Tenacity is a really nice one, since pale flame is an underwhelming set. Include that in the list with Noblesse and VV strongbox. Also, I do want to mention Crimson witch and Thundering fury strongboxes, since they allow you to avoid thundersoother and lavawalker, which aren't BiS for anyone currently. Crimson also has heavy emphasis on substats, so the strongbox helps out in that department slightly. Emblem strongbox also lets you avoid Shimenawa, which isn't always a good set to farm for if you don't have the on fielders that make good use of it, or farmed a different set for them already. Overall, the new artifacts are very strong, but we currently don't have too many characters that can really capitalize on these sets where it's their definite BiS, apart from Fischl and Lyney. Not sure about Lynette. The skill set is also decent on Yae and Albedo, but not their definite BiS. Most characters for now don't pack a lot of power in their skill, nor do most change/drain HP frequently enough to keep up Hunter stacks. I'm sure this will change as more Fontaine characters get added. For now, the new domain is not general enough for me to recommend it for everyone. 4p Hunter might end up being a nice casual set since it gives a rarer stat innately, even if the stat isn't stronger than what other sets can give. If you're playing Lyney or Fischl teams, you can farm the new artifact domain and potentially strongbox emblem pieces for a better chance at improving your existing set. You should no longer farm the Emblem domain for too long, since it's going to save you a lot of trouble if you instead strongbox for higher quality pieces. Deepwood and Gilded is now arguably the most efficient domain to farm for, especially for lower investment accounts. Going to add some extra stuff about the video that I missed / cut out. Also, there is a follow up on my second channel overviewing the calculations I did (finally) First: I accidentally said that +20 artifacts is the "most efficient improvement" you can make. A more accurate statement would be that it's much more efficient than grinding for substats, and about as efficient as talents, weapons, character level. I did say that +20 artifacts followed those things, i.e. came after, but the "most efficient" statement definitely detracted some of the value there. Second: Some characters have built in dual scaling, meaning increasing one stat boosts another (Nahida's EM boosing crit rate and damage bonus, Alhaitham, etc). This can skew individual characters' damage gain charts in different ways compared to the example I showed with only vaporize and melt for Xiangling. Basically, not all sources of EM have the same form or any real form of true diminishing returns. Third: I left this out of the video, but you will get off piece artifacts from 2 and 4 piece sets that you can use to make your build stronger. In general, choose the one that gives the largest net increase. Fourth: A small error, at about 7:11, I wrote crit multiplier instead of crit value for the catch's 12% crit rate increase. A 24% crit value increase translates into a bigger crit multiplier that varies depending on the amount of crit value the character starts with. Lastly, I accidentally forgot to emphasize the importance of getting specific 4 piece sets, like viridescent venerer, from the strongbox, simply for how strong the 4p effect is. Remember, having many "subpar" substats (flat stats included!) can still make those pieces stronger than an alternative with fewer, but more valuable substats. I would also like to mention a tool that you can use to discover what your optimal artifact setup is for specific characters in teams. frzyc.github.io/genshin-optimizer - this provides pretty much everything you need to get accurate optimizations once you import your artifacts and characters. Best of luck with your artifacts journey! Artifact calculations: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vfrKPKe2eyz1dtHJT6u8J1TMBf_x5bbLwhzmJc25-kA Take them with a grain of salt, these are estimates and won't be completely accurate.
Is it ok to mention when you can consider using a relevant 2pc 2pc instead of a 4pc? 4pc sets have a varying degree of strength and the most notable one is arguably blizzard strayer. It's 12 avg rolls worth of what is arguably the most important offensive stat (i personally feel its er). I.e. You can go 2pc cryo and 2pc gladiator for roughly similar dmg results when you have 9 extra substats. Or for 4pc emblem, if your character has 200 er, its fine to go 2pc emblem, 2pc noblesse at 6 extra subs. I believe strayer is the highest value artifact set in the game so it should average between 4-9 subs between major 4pc vs 2pc/2pc. Unless niche scenarios where character needs the 4pc for a mechanic or support sets. Pale flame might be 3 subs lol Feel free to remove this comment if you believe its incorrect. Now personal thought: i dont like the emblem domain. I believe shime 4pc is a very grief set (have yoi and tao) and it shouldnt be used at all. For yoi specifically, it directly competes with her burst, a4, sig bow and c1. 3 of which i believe are quite important, a4 is meh.
@@stelixhyx808 Agreed, well said with the 2p2p versus 4p point, though for some, the deficit can be more costly. I do think 4p shime is a bit more nuanced. Theoretically it's a set that falls behind, but since it can help better frontload damage, it has the potential assist in clearing waves or abyss chambers in comparable or faster time versus sets with more complete synergy. Even if it isn't always ideal, I still consider the 4p viable or even on par to others in certain situations, but do recognize its downsides. Overall, it's a very selfish set that can either help or hurt a character, depending on a lot of surrounding variables.
Well you know, its designed to be like this where it can always improve, so it keeps you occupied everyday, even when you have nothing to do 😂 in that regard artifacts served its job very well
Just wanted to point out that if you use characters which main DPS or Support is from their burst, always focus on ER it makes game so much more fun and just after you have enough ER then you can think about DPS main or substats. For example Xiangling with 70/140 CR/CD but with low ER feels way worse than 50/100 CR/CD and enough ER.
@@arjunmuruganandam3373 depend on the team innit? I like 250 ER on team like Melt ganyu but only 150-180 on rational and 200 for general use so I just let it stay on about 220 with the catch so that I could use her anywhere without worry even if it does feels too much sometimes, at least I don't need to change her artifact too often This is also why I'm glad I have been playing since release since now I have almost enough artifact for all my character (35+ that I'm using) so I can just plug and play without having to manually change their artifact everytime I want to change team
@@arjunmuruganandam3373 I have right now 210 ER with my Xiangling in international team, and it feels barely enough. If you have no other pyro units in team to funnel energy to her you definetaly need more. Also it depends on if you using Favonious weapons on other characters in team. Disclaimer - I am very casual player have no idea how to do good rotations and using Zhongli almost everythere to avoid dodging, so if you can funnel energy to Xiangling perfectly every time - you need less ER.
@@MrWorldOfQuests If youre using her in national try to always use guoba and bennett e when you can, to generate pyro particles, doing it like that youll always have her burst ready every rotation. Also, do rotations like this: Raiden e, xing 2e q (if you have sacrificial to do 2 e), bennet burst e, then xiangling e q, then raiden q. That way, all team benefits from all the particles xingqiu generates, and xiangling will benefit from the particles of bennett when you switch to her.
This is everything a player needs to know in one nicely packed video. You’re one of the only people who mentions the fact that you can only get certain stats on certain types of pieces, and the low-high rolls. Awesome work!
Same, all I got is a semi respectable sands and feather. I've been trying to EM on kazuha for weeks and I keep getting laughably bad substats, or perfect substats (em, exchange, cr/cd) with hp/def/or healing bonus.
Depending on team comps, you can lower your requirements for stats on Xiangling. I often pair my Xiangling with Bennett so her Atk and ER isn't as important as EM, dmg bonus and crit since I can battery Xiangling and snapshot Bennett's huge atk buff. Personally, I find Xiangling to work perfectly even with low investment or poor stats as long as you play well since a lot of stats she gets free from Bennett. She's a really f2p-friendly character.
extremely well presented! you've expressed and communicated these concepts that I've intuited after playing for nearly 3 years, but struggled to put to words myself. especially just how absurd it is to chase quality substats at high investment after already having arts with a high quantity of usable substats
I've only been playing Genshin for about 4 months and I finally understand wtf I'm doing now that I'm in the artifact farming stage thanks to this video. They say if you can teach a beginner a complex topic and they come away with more understand than they started with, you're an amazing teacher. Bravo!
Even as a 1.0 player, this an extremely handy guide to have. Just the sheer amount of information and data packed here is useful as hell. Great job on the video!
The presentation of the information is absolutely stellar! ✨ Can't believe you've only made three videos as the quality is fantastic. Thank you so much for your work, I have learned a lot. 😊
I must disagree, some tables are extremely confusing and not clearly labeled or too brief, while the surrounding text only adds to the confusion with far too many abbreviations or omissions
This is why the least MiHoYo could do is implement some sort of artifact reset feature. Nothing is more frustrating than getting a great artifact and every single fucking roll goes into flat def..........................................
The short version of all of this is first got character to level 70/80 and weapon to lvl 60/70. Upgrades talents if necessary, level artefacts level 12 or 16 depending of your capacity to do so. Then you can start farming for 5* artefact, get them to level 20 starting for the main dps, just looking for good mainstats. Then get the 4pc bonus set for support. Finally you can start artefact farming the only ones worth upgrade to level 20 are the ones with 3 good substats or more at level 0. Keep the ones with the higher values. GG you finished your character/team. Repeat for the next one. No needs for the maths behind if you can evaluate risk/reward with a spoon. You should get that an artefact is most likely to be decent with 3 good stats at level 0. And worthless with less than that. You shouldn't care if you still don't have level 20 artefacts on characters. Since substats farming is the last thing you should do on your account. PS: forgetting the point where you should farm on domain that give you 2 versatile set with 5* for resin efficienty. Mainly being the one with gilded and the one with shimenawa (or something like that). You'll strong box later for specific sets that are in domain with a second set that is near usless even with 2pc bonuses, like the domain of Nobless or VV.
@@ryanm9257 I have a 49.9 (or .8, don't remember) geo goblet, but it's ~21 crit rate, 6 crit damage, 6.6% def and ER. can't ask for more, each stat is perfect, only the rolls aren't (they're hella good though so it's still a win)
Wow, this has to be the best artifact video here on youtube, I mean, through the data on the genshin wiki and from playing I figured out a decent way to farm artifacts so far. But this video goes above and beyond on setting expectations for your artifacts. Thank you very much, this will definitely help me and a ton of others grind out artifacts more efficiently. Instant sub.
This is the best video I've seen on genshin in a while, I've been fed up with mindless entertainment for a ehile that something as well made and informative as this is nice change of pace. I hope you keep making more videos like this. And wishing you good luck on your journey in life
seriously, your videos are so interesting. Really makes me have another completely different perspective to artifact farming. A big thank you for the great content
I am a fairly new player with only one and a half good teams (hyperbloom/nilou bloom, so there is overlap), so the advice on getting a more focused spread of artifacts that may not be BiS but see broad use is INCREDIBLY helpful. I want to be able to try out a variety of teams, so having a more resin-efficient way of gearing means I can divert more resources to leveling/ascention for new characters. Thank you so much!
If the quality of videos on this channel continues to be this good, and the TH-cam algorithm actually doesn't fail, I can see this channel growing pretty quickly. But the low upload rate will probably make the algorithm end up failing to recommend this channel to too many people. At least it got me aware of the channel, and I'm glad it did. :) All these videos are great for beginners of the game, and the info is actually accurate, so I hope to see this channel grow so that newer players will actually have access to good, correct info (as I see too many new players spewing out nonsense because they heard it from some popular but untrustworthy source). Hopefully, it'll also cover more advanced topics in the future, as well, for long-time players like myself.
The bottleneck is the target audience, not necessarily the upload rate. I'm happy to take suggestions for more advanced topics if you have any :) Hope you enjoyed, more content is coming, slowly but surely lol
cant wait to spend the next 830 billion years of my life in the emblem domain great vid milo! this was super interesting, since i‘m finally at the point of farming artifacts for two potential abyss teams 👀
thats the type of guide im always looking for. With very fancy animations and circles around specific things you are talking about at that time(like if you'd be explaining stuff to an ape). Ty for the great work
I appreciate this video so much. For me, artifact farming is however necessary clearing the abyss is/was - because that's simply the hardest content in the game. Whenever I had a character, or team, or duo that was good enough to clear a floor, they no longer needed any upgrades, and I considered them "done". I can sympathize with anyone who wants to roll astronomical odds for the itty bitty chance at the payoff, and I certainly understand finding entertainment value in the process (I used to shiny hunt in Pokemon), but Genshin just never made me feel like I needed to make a character any better than they realistically "needed" to be - and certainly not from a time / monetary investment standpoint.
This video made me realise that my futile grinding of "perfect" pieces is....... futile(in a good way). What a well put video, keep making more of these man 👏👏👏
Excellent video summarizing what you would intuitively pick up only after years of playing and hours of mixing/matching different combinations on the Optimizer.
As a long-time Genshin player, this video was a great in-depth look at artifact math and I really appreciated it! You must have put a lot of work into it. However, I'd love to see in the future shorter, more simplified version of this video aimed at casuals. I'd love to link this to some of my more casual Genshin friends who'd love to know how to optimize better, but I know they won't watch it, because as soon as you start talking about math and charts, their eyes glaze over.
This is awesome. I just wished you had spent a little more time on how the increased damage potential on improving artifacts falls off and the breakpoints at which you should spend your resin on other things. One problem that's come from watching a lot of content creators is that a large population of players almost exclusively use their resin on artifact domains at high investment on characters when increasing talents or even character level would be a bigger increase to their damage. It also kind of throws off the game's economy and makes it seem like the game doesn't give you enough resources to invest into characters.
Its better for entertainement as it is basically gambling with huge potential. Getting a deep wood EM helmet with 4 BiS subs sounds more hype than getting 2 golden talents books. While one is more likely to happen than the other, you know why desperate odds makes the gamble more exciting as well as the payoff.
@@Grim_Bud usually youtubers or streamers invest already some money at least on BP which helps more with Talent Books and reduce the upgrade process before artifact farming. That's why I guess they also have talent materials bundles.
Best video on this topic. Great presentation to teach the playerbase. Unlike those theory crafters out there who just talk and talk and talk and talk without bothering to learn proper presentation skills , video editing skills and how their target audience would learn. Looks like for all the brains these other theory crafters have , they don't have common sense to have empathy for how people view their content. You got a well deserved sub from me. Edit : another note, on average most popular videos would get 1-2% likes to views ratio. You got a healthy 7.5% like ratio. well done.
Great video!! Very, very useful info. 👏 I'm going to nitpick one point though. ER is not necessarily a DPS loss. For burst characters, not being able to burst on rotation can be a much bigger DPS loss. (Also, feels horrible.) Burst can't crit if you can't use it! If that's happening to you, ER is a DPS gain and arguably your most important stat. The sweet spot is when your meter consistently fills _just in time_ without wasting any energy particles *when fighting the kind of fights you're building for.* I'd also caution people not to get too hung up on the 1:2 ratio for crit. It is ideal, but the curve is quite flat. Assuming the same crit value(cv), 1:3 is something like 98% as good as 1:2. Even 1:7 is about 85% as good as 1:2. It isn't as tight as you might think. Furthermore, crit value will often trump ratio. 40:80 is ratio perfect, but 40:160 will do more damage, even if it is 1:4. Don't worry too much about deviating from ratio if doing so will be a boost in CV. As long as you're in the neighborhood, you might want to call it good enough. Another consideration is how many opportunities per fight can you crit? On a character that is doing a lot of smaller attacks, it'll average out and 1:2 is ideal, but the fewer opportunities a character has to damage stuff, you might be better off stacking crit rate. If we're talking burst damage, critting every burst might speed a kill by one or more rotations, even if the crits hit a bit less hard. If you're doing timed content, that could mean the difference between 2-star and 3-star.
First time hearing an English CC use valuable substat rolls instead of just CV to explain how to evaluate artifact value...My local community has been using simplified version of this for over 2 years (I basically was only taught "count 1 for every valuable substat rolls you got based on character. If you already got 25-30 total with sufficient crit rate and ER, then your artifacts are already good enough for abyss"), but good to learn the inner math even tho I don't get most of it. Never noticed that strongbox has different odds compared to domain farming tho. Thanks for the thorough explanation! 😂
This is what I'm always talking about artifact farming: prioritize main stat especially when having multiple characters wanting that same main stat on the same artifact set. I understand waifu/husbando lovers that wants the best for their special character, but for building a team you always want to have at least decent artifact on all of them rather than near perfect artifact to one of them because artifact farming itself uses a scarce resource. It also doesn't help that the fact that it's multiple layers of RNG to get that perfect artifact and it will always screw you when you try to get there. As it turns out, the initial value of the substat is already good in itself (barring crit stats). So yeah, I guess don't shy away on those artifacts that don't roll on the preferred substats. A character that wears an artifact is always better than those who don't.
I really want to see the explanation of the math behind what you did. I understand in principle how do to it, but I would love to see it explained clearly, especially given how thorough and understandable the rest of your explanations are.
Good, my statistics course is finally paying off. And it is good to know that I had been making proper use of my resin with the domain. I still think the "emblem of severed fate" is a pain in the ass to get but at least it could be worst. And it is a miracle that I have a relatively high luck with EM main stats, despite it having relatively low probabilities.
THIS IS SUCH A GOOD VIDEO!! THE VISUALS LIKE, I CANT IMAGING HOW MUCH TIME AND EFFORT YOU PUT IN TO ORGANIZE ALL THE DATA AND PLACE IT IN A NICE AND COMPRESSED VIDEO. THANKS YOU VERY MCUH FOR THIS VIDEO. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
The despair of rolling an artifact you _know_ is good, but no character will ever be able to use to it's full potential because it's on the wrong set or it has a weird niche main stat (*looking at my 47CV Archaic Petra Anemo dmg goblet that I'll never use because all my Anemo characters want EM main instead*)
I feel you. Got a CRate/CDmg/ER%/Def% _gilded_ feather with all 5 rolls into Def% for a majestic 40.4%. No one ever used it but oh boy is it still locked! :D
Great video! I made my own math breakdown of artifact farming in a notepad app in my phone last year to determine how good my artifact stats are and decide whether to keep farming for a specific piece/set. From now on I'll refer to this since this is much cleaner and way more comprehensive.
Amazing video! I know for a lot of players the numbers are the fun part of the game. I’m more in it for the characters and story, but obvs love a good big number as much as the next person. This video explains the stats in such an easy way even a maths dummy like me can understand! Thank you!
This is probably the best video i would recommend to every single Genshin player that has some interest in theorycrafting and artifact optimization... cause it has insane quality, very good editing, easy explanation and some graphs accompanied by some good examples! Best video in the category (imo)
Been playing since launch and learned a ton here. Like, 100% Crit DMG isn't bad, at all. I've also began swapping up ER and aiming for certain percentages before delving into other stats, and it's made the game far more enjoyable. Thanks for this video, though!
Incredible video. Not only is this helpful for new players who are beginning to farm artifacts for their Abyss teams, but you pointed out key suggestions for experienced players as well. A lot of players really underestimate the value of ATK%, EM, and ER and only really focus on crit rolls. That, in my opinion, is why there can be a huge gap between build damage averages. My Raiden has an Electro goblet that is 35 CV (10.5% CR, 14% CD) with 16.8% ER. It is a very difficult goblet to find an improvement for because it high rolled into both crit stats and ER (it was a 4 line start). A 42 CV Electro goblet would not be able to beat it unless it also had ER and/or ATK%, which just goes to show the value of those stats specifically on Raiden. Chasing high CV pieces is entertaining for bragging rights, but as you said, crit is not the end all be all. Like I said, fantastic video my friend.
When you eventually get burned out and can't possibly keep doing the domain without losing your mind, that's when you just accept what you have as good enough and move on
@@Vidmiloo yep I did enjoy it! I made a vid recently showing my acc and character builds. I wonder what the farming odds are on my hu tao since she has stacked artifacts 😅
Absolutely phenomenal video, I subbed immediately. The only problem is (not your mistake of course): the math here assumes that there is an absolutely equal chance for a substat roll to fall on generally valuable stats such as ER, EM, Crit Rate and Crit DMG compared to falling on generally non-valuable stats such as Flat ATK, DEF and HP. Where in reality, many players have reported an obvious hidden touch/rig in the game's code where even if you have 4L3G artifact, there seems to be an increased chance for the rolls to fall on the exact one "bad" stat which is something I heavily despise in Genshin as it's very malicious and deceiving, if not straight out fraudulent. There's no way to actually prove this claim without looking at the raw code of the game, and anyone can brush off this argument by simply saying "well, you were just unlucky" but after 14 months of farming thousands of artifacts and rolling on them, I can safely say that I am 99% sure there IS a hidden rig in the game, it is just so fucking obvious when you have rolled on thousands and thousands of artifacts. If the game was not secretly rigged, there would be somewhat equal outcomes in mirrored situations no matter of the stats we look at, and that's simply not the case in my experience with farming. I have had WAY more cases of an artifact that has Crit Rate, Crit DMG, ER and Flat ATK rolling 3, 4, or even 5 times in Flat ATK compared to the mirrored situation of an artifact that has Flat ATK, Flat DEF, Flat HP and Crit Rate rolling 3, 4, or even 5 times in Crit Rate, and that's by a huge margin by the way, it's not a small difference. In both cases you should be equally "lucky or unlucky" and you should see both cases happen to you equally over time (that's called normal distribution), because in both cases you have 4 substats and most/all of the rolls go into 1 exact substat. The way it happens in Genshin is not like that and that's not how normal distribution in mathematics works when you use thousands of samples.
Interesting observation, no source that I found claimed there was a bias towards more common substats when upgrading, so perhaps a more thorough investigation needs to be done. Unfortunately, that's pretty difficult to do, since players are constantly discarding subpar pieces and keeping stronger ones, which would make most databases reflect an opposite bias. Maybe if enough people get on board with data collection, then it might be possible to prove or disprove a hidden internal bias, but as of right now, I don't think it can be proven right or wrong, or more significantly, how much of an effect it has if it does exist.
Dang, while I was watching I thought this was made by some huge or otherwise well known TH-camr. I did not expect you to have only 6k subs! Great video, and subbed. Please keep making these! Maybe a video on elemental gauge theory?
Great video I was just looking for a good artifact farming guide, I have been playing this game for almost 1.5 years and still I learned a lot of new things.
Finally someone who produced a helpful min max guide for artifacts. A lot of times I'm note certain which artifact to prioritize based on highest upgrade chance. But with the baseline rolls for base, high and peak investment I can easily filter this out now and go for the artifact with the highest upgrade chance.
I'm terrible at math but so much of this went over my head yet it's a great video. The visual charts etc helped alot. That being said, my absolute best artifact in 2.5 years of genshin a 47 crit value feather. Ironically, I've been farming for dangling going on 8 months. I can't upgrade her crit rate circlet which has no crit damage in it. Nine. All art and energy recharge. The 4 I've gotten in these past months all go into flat def. I thought for sure I'd get an improvement in a piece that has literally nothing on it but no... I'm at a loss. The end of this vid helps but I still really don't see how my luck is still at zero in 8 months from a starting point of zero?? This is the true end game insanity no one asked for.
wow, everything from the script, your editing, and voice - so good! I had no clue what to invest my resin into for a long time now because everything in my account already felt good enough. At least your video has provided me with much needed direction.
We need a site that read our artifacts, and tell us what is the percentage of our build compared with the perfect one. So we could know if its still worth to keep trying to improve.
I hope you're still making videos! I love these guided since I'm trying my best to remove myself from too much needless grind and enjoy more characters. So these guides help a lot❤
Yep, the next video should be coming very soon! I've just had a lot less free time lately, but I've been working on this next one (along with a few other projects) for a couple months now. I hope you find them useful once they come out :)

I'm only 1 minute in and I'm so amazed by the quality of the video. It's so easy to understand, concise and well put together. It feels almost illegal to watch this for free xd
It should be noted that if you have a well built team of characters with appropriate synergies and weapons, you'll never need those red artifact pieces to 36 star the abyss.
Fantastitc Video. I will watch it again another time. This is so well researched and should be bookmarked by everyone who wants to get the most out of their account.
I always knew the probability of upgrading the substats, but you cracked the code for the 'each' substats chances to be upgraded. No wonder why my crit substats is really hard to get. Thanks man
I love your TH-cam Channel and I'm so glad I found it! I love analysing and perfecting all the aspects of a game I play and I'm a huge fan of probabilities. So your videos are very enjoyable for me, thank you!
Me during the odds section end: Ah, so my strategy of just rolling for main stats and heck the substats unless they are feather or flower was the right call, nice. Aaaaan, the RNG gods, they truly have no mercy.
If you're going for weapon banner just expect the worst results and save up enough for 3 max pity attempts. For the 3.7 banner I basically went to max pity and got skywae blade, freedom sworn and finally alhaithams folier incision. Fortunately I had a use for all 3 so I was "happy" lol
I loved this walkthrough. I've been playing for almost two years but I still found a few nuggets in here. I think we found out what hell is; farming a completely perfect emblem set for 500+ million years ^^
This was the best Vid i ever saw related to Genshin, I kind of did it right without deeper view. But what was new to me is how the chances of a substat appearing were. I thought they were equal (it would be so much nicer for all players but they thought "add a little Gacha there" )
This hurt my brain but it gave me SOME insight now. Im subbing, and liking, and sharing it with friends given how much effort was put in this. Thank you 💖💖💖
This is an extraodinary video that highlights all the data analytics behind artifact farming, presented in digestible stamps. I think a follow-up of great value would a dedicated video on the main rules of thumbs and concepts in a team use-case. It would be tremendous to see that workflow live. Perhaps start with a team, identify the heavy hitters and their valuable substats, and demonstrate the returns on upgrading artifacts in your value buckets. It would be great to see what is the MVP for Abyss clears in terms of which characters own artifacts in certain buckets.
Really high quality video, one nitpick is I think it's worthwhile to assess valuable substat quality in fractions. Eg for Xiangling in national, an atk% roll is only about 0.5x as valuable as a crit roll, with EM usually in between. So multiply by those fractions when counting useful substats. This is a lot more accurate (everyone knows crit is a lot better than atk% if you have Bennett, but atk% is still good) and isn't too hard for most chars. The only issue I have is in assessing characters who like many more stats, especially er%.
I am a long time genshin player but this video is so good and there is so much work in it I watched til the end even tho I know all of it. Thank you for making such a video looking forward for more but dont overdo it. Stay save and healthy and you gained another follower❤
Honestly, just slap on your characters whatever you have to help you clear a domain as fast as possible, ( prioritize lvl up talents and weapons first ) Then farm artifacts without anything in specific in mind. Do that evenly for the 3-4 domains you can get the most set value from, Get loads of them. After burning all your resin Aka having dozens of not hundreds of copies of every set, weed through them locking anything from decent to peak and strong box the rest. If you still don’t have the 9+/10 rolls you wanted, you can always do this again in a year or more when you’ve saved up more resin, and you’ll be able to do it again a lot more efficiently!
3 months, as in for example January, February and March. It takes 3 months using most of the resins in the artifact domain and then recycle it using strongbox for optimal artifacts for your damage dealer. Atleast 1 month or more to get the optimal artifacts for your support/utilities/healer when you also have to consider more good - near perfect substats.
4.0 Artifact details have been revealed on Genshin's official website!
Golden Troupe: 2p: 20% Skill damage bonus, 4p: 25% skill damage bonus, another 25% if off field (up to 70% including 2p)
Marechausee Hunter: 2p: 15% NA/CA DMG bonus, 4p: 12% Crit rate for every HP change, max 3 stacks (36%), stacks last 5s.
Also, there is a follow up on my second channel overviewing the calculations I did (finally)
First: I accidentally said that +20 artifacts is the "most efficient improvement" you can make.
Artifact calculations: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vfrKPKe2eyz1dtHJT6u8J1TMBf_x5bbLwhzmJc25-kA
Take them with a grain of salt, these are estimates and won't be completely accurate.
Pale flame might be 3 subs lol
Feel free to remove this comment if you believe its incorrect.
Thats some extra stuff
Question
are you an english major?
@@Yeho1111 No, going into my first year of college/uni in september (for engineering)
id be sobbing if not for the last two minutes of the video. added a layer of humanity to the monstrosity that is artifact farming.
Insted of sobbing you can be subbing!
It is Indeed a mental torture, this artifact farming.
dw, Xiangling is op even with mid artifacts :D
Meanwhile me: keep on farming the crimsons everyday despite having a 70/256 hu tao
How much ER do you use on Xiangling usually? I use something like 230 ER, and that feels like a bit too much.
@@arjunmuruganandam3373 depend on the team innit? I like 250 ER on team like Melt ganyu but only 150-180 on rational and 200 for general use so I just let it stay on about 220 with the catch so that I could use her anywhere without worry even if it does feels too much sometimes, at least I don't need to change her artifact too often
This is also why I'm glad I have been playing since release since now I have almost enough artifact for all my character (35+ that I'm using) so I can just plug and play without having to manually change their artifact everytime I want to change team
SO TRUE i used to get my yelan 80 and 160 but had almost no er now its abit less 70 140 but er is 230 and it does less damage but i always have my ult
This video made me feel better about lacking double crit pyro and hydro goblets for the 2 years I’ve been playing
I got a double crit hydro goblet that rolled well the other week and it felt like I was looking into the face of god
oh so its like that. I thought Its just me having a insanely hard time without those goblets :/
I got 2 pyro goblets about 40cv, one of them is shimenava but don't have any hydro with cr, my best hydro got 13cd😂
Yeah I’m doing fine everywhere but pyro pretty much
all my three pyro cups are 20cv and i use XL and hu tao but then i got 45cv dendro goblet and no one to plan to use it on 😭
This is everything a player needs to know in one nicely packed video. You’re one of the only people who mentions the fact that you can only get certain stats on certain types of pieces, and the low-high rolls. Awesome work!
bro i dont understnad anything 😭
It's basically don't aim for the best, aim for low to mid artifact value after getting the main state u want pretty much
This is the very very simplified explanation
Way too complicated imo
Literally everyone mentions the stats and rolls dude. Who have you watched that doesn't?
I'm trying to build xiangling these days and yes, it DOES feel like it's been 530 million years
Same, all I got is a semi respectable sands and feather.
Great job on the video!
is it tho? 😅
Nothing is more frustrating than getting a great artifact and every single fucking roll goes into flat def..........................................
this is pure perfection. thanks for giving what I was looking for keep it up
*Me getting ready for a 500 million year grind*
"And that's why you shouldn't bother with getting perfect artifacts with all crit rolls"
oh..
Gonna need a lot of Redbulls for this one
for 1 character
This comment actually helped me a lot, thank you

Wow, this has to be the best artifact video here on youtube, I mean, through the data on the genshin wiki and from playing I figured out a decent way to farm artifacts so far. But this video goes above and beyond on setting expectations for your artifacts. Thank you very much, this will definitely help me and a ton of others grind out artifacts more efficiently.
Already know it's about to be an informative banger 🔥🔥
Dude I love your probability content it really shows your work with your graphs keep up
Clear and concise and extremely professional. Straight up, this is one of those rare perfect guides
All these videos are great for beginners of the game, and the info is actually accurate, so I hope to see this channel grow so that newer players will actually have access to good, correct info (as I see too many new players spewing out nonsense because they heard it from some popular but untrustworthy source). Hopefully, it'll also cover more advanced topics in the future, as well, for long-time players like myself.
The bottleneck is the target audience, not necessarily the upload rate.
I'm happy to take suggestions for more advanced topics if you have any :)
Hope you enjoyed, more content is coming, slowly but surely lol

great vid milo! this was super interesting, since i‘m finally at the point of farming artifacts for two potential abyss teams 👀
Thanks em! Best of luck!
thats the type of guide im always looking for.

@@Vidmiloo I sure did, I just started a fresh account after a 2 years break, your videos will be a huge help for me to optimize my primos/resin.
I think it is also because the highest artifact domains gurantee a 5star
While talent books don't
@@Grim_Bud usually youtubers or streamers invest already some money at least on BP which helps more with Talent Books and reduce the upgrade process before artifact farming. That's why I guess they also have talent materials bundles.
Thank you for the useful information, i will return to this video in 500 million years once i've gotten my perfect xiangling piece.
Best video on this topic.
Great presentation to teach the playerbase.
Unlike those theory crafters out there who just talk and talk and talk and talk without bothering to learn proper presentation skills , video editing skills and how their target audience would learn.

this guy: logically explaining me how to optimally farm and why not to focus too much on min-maxing
my brain: oppa xl demands more
Great video!! Very, very useful info. 👏
I'm going to nitpick one point though. ER is not necessarily a DPS loss. For burst characters, not being able to burst on rotation can be a much bigger DPS loss. (Also, feels horrible.) Burst can't crit if you can't use it! If that's happening to you, ER is a DPS gain and arguably your most important stat.
The sweet spot is when your meter consistently fills _just in time_ without wasting any energy particles *when fighting the kind of fights you're building for.*
I'd also caution people not to get too hung up on the 1:2 ratio for crit.
This video makes me treasure even more the Crimson Witch hat I got with CR main stat and 40.4% CD
Good work Milo, you've done some amazing analysis.
Again, concise, informative, and useful for players of all experience.
Looking to post explanations and follow ups to my videos on my second channel, I'll be explaining it there in the coming days :)

When you eventually get burned out and can't possibly keep doing the domain without losing your mind, that's when you just accept what you have as good enough and move on
keep up the awesome work, these vids have tremendous detail in unexplored topics!

That already exists. Google Akasha Leaderboards.
So your telling me that all I need is a time machine to the Cambrian era
Its sooo much info
Which makes sense
I just go by gutfeel and look for a 1:2 critratio
Thanks for collecting all the info
I keep coming back to this video for the specific parts but your music choice is so good I usually just let the video play out.
This content is what every player what is 45+ needs. So compact but so informative keep it up homie👍🏽
How are the Projects going?
i've played a bunch of rng substat game and i can definitely say this is a great vid esp for people who's new to this kind of game and is having trouble deciding where and how to start and improve their gear
This video prooves once more that we need to get rid of the resin system once and for all
I already know all of this and am still watching, the vid is really well made and addressed a few very key points
After seeing these numbers i can proudly say that i will still continue farming to perfect my pieces till the day i die
I just hope genshin didnt die first
@@matchayum23 Genshin will never die if they keep adding waifus, Fate/GO is still popular to this day despite having outdated combat and graphics akin to early 2000s.
@@Vivi_Strike i meant story wise. Though theres a possibility since i heard HI3 is still alive despite the story ended? Someone told me and i didnt play the game myself.
Just be an immortal bruh.
@@matchayum23 I think they just added new character battlesuits so i dont think it will die anytime soon and the story's sequel is continued in Honkai: Star Rail. Welt traveled from Impact 3rd to Star rail's universe.
Now this is the quality Genshin content I wish for. Great video man 🎉
Your guide was extremely well-made and educational. And the choice of donkey kong country music just goes to show how good your taste is.
I'm only 1 minute in and I'm so amazed by the quality of the video. It's so easy to understand, concise and well put together. It feels almost illegal to watch this for free xd
Finally, the video we all needed but no one was willing to make
Thank you sir!
It should be noted that if you have a well built team of characters with appropriate synergies and weapons, you'll never need those red artifact pieces to 36 star the abyss.
very cohesive, informative and helpful! thank you!! feels like a lecture and i'll be rewatching later to get a better grasp
Fantastitc Video. I will watch it again another time. This is so well researched and should be bookmarked by everyone who wants to get the most out of their account.
I never knew I needed a video like this but damn I did. Thanks for your hard work man, keep it up!
I swear to god this is the best genshin channel im returning to genshin and this is guy uploads best no bs information videos
Never thought that I would study for a game
😂
Extremely well put together video for the more meta player. This is very useful.
this is so in depth i just cant not sub, real quality explanation right there
Hands down to the best genshin content creator 🗿👌
I just roll on the weapon banner when I actually want both weapons. It happens from time to time.
I loved this walkthrough. I've been playing for almost two years but I still found a few nuggets in here. I think we found out what hell is; farming a completely perfect emblem set for 500+ million years ^^
Wow. This is the most efficiently this has ever been explained
Thank you 💖💖💖
This is EXACTLY what I needed rn awesome!
I didn't understand half of this
I am a long time genshin player but this video is so good and there is so much work in it I watched til the end even tho I know all of it. Thank you for making such a video looking forward for more but dont overdo it.
Stay save and healthy and you gained another follower❤
Honestly, just slap on your characters whatever you have to help you clear a domain as fast as possible, ( prioritize lvl up talents and weapons first )
Then farm artifacts without anything in specific in mind.
I think this is the first video of yours I've seen, but I have to subscribe for this kind of quality. Amazing video!
I don't know what to say, but this is the best Genshin guide i ever watch, thanks for the good work bro👍
I've been searching for this kind of guide for a while now. Finally, someone made it right
3 months, as in for example January, February and March. It takes 3 months using most of the resins in the artifact domain and then recycle it using strongbox for optimal artifacts for your damage dealer.
Atleast 1 month or more to get the optimal artifacts for your support/utilities/healer when you also have to consider more good - near perfect substats.
