The teams already in F1 refusing other teams to get in may be deemed as a cartel refusing a competitor the service of having access to the hype around a team being in F1.
This whole ordeal makes the scenario of Walkinshaw Andretti United (the Supercars team) being fully absorbed into Toyota Gazoo Racing much more probable. Michael leaves all of his motorsport operations outside of Indycar, so he'll leave Supercars. Zak Brown has a conflict of interest with Toyota, so he'll probably leave anyway. So Ryan Walkinshaw is going to be left alone as team principal of Toyota GR Waklinshaw. The Supercars excursion of both Andretti and Brown has been left unattended most of the time anyway. We'll probably never gonna see Chaz Mostert in an Indycar now.
I've been worried about Group 1001 and all of the associated companies for a while now. It feels like they have invested way too much into motorsports, too quickly. I was worried about what would happen when all of these companies go bust. Like DC Solar a few years back, the lender Amerquest back in the mid-2000s or Big Daddy's BBQ sauce back in the late 90'. I don't see how any of it can be sustainable.
My Prediction ~ Foyt is the legacy team that is going to come out on top after all this settles. In 3-5 years Larry Foyt will have that team in a position to win the Indycar Championship.
There's a lot going on here. But if we look at Michael Andretti as a team owner the last 12 years - it can only be described as inconsistent at best. In the premiere league they compete in they have zero championships in the last decade and they have not been relevant at the Indy 500 in 5 years. Part of me thinks the major money involved looked at Bryan Herta and the other quality people they have at Andretti racing and realized they can be successful without Michael leading the way.
I don't think so. Knowing andrettis big mouth, he would have probably said so long ago. Makes me wonder, could this be the reason the F1 bosses didn't let Andretti in? They do have more insider information on the motorsport world. They probably knew andretti wasn't stable to begin with.
Potentially, I'm sure in business to business sponsorship deals where the sponsor actually provides goods and services to a team e.g. McLaren F1 are sponsored by DeWalt who provide wheel guns etc. the deals are probably structured like that primarily for tax reasons.

F*ck F1
so is therrle any chance Mario gives his shares to Michael?
I've been worried about Group 1001 and all of the associated companies for a while now. It feels like they have invested way too much into motorsports, too quickly. I was worried about what would happen when all of these companies go bust. Like DC Solar a few years back, the lender Amerquest back in the mid-2000s or Big Daddy's BBQ sauce back in the late 90'. I don't see how any of it can be sustainable.
My Prediction ~ Foyt is the legacy team that is going to come out on top after all this settles. In 3-5 years Larry Foyt will have that team in a position to win the Indycar Championship.
Well they are making big steps towards it.
I respect and love Mario but Micheal ehhhhhh. I'd love to see this, that spunky kid with the hair over there at Foyt is fun to watch.
What about his Indy NXT team?
There's a lot going on here. But if we look at Michael Andretti as a team owner the last 12 years - it can only be described as inconsistent at best. In the premiere league they compete in they have zero championships in the last decade and they have not been relevant at the Indy 500 in 5 years. Part of me thinks the major money involved looked at Bryan Herta and the other quality people they have at Andretti racing and realized they can be successful without Michael leading the way.
Bottom line is, obviously and unfortunately, not any sort of forward progress or good news for Andretti. Crap.
its called money washing
Probably part of a condition if he is committed to do F1
I don't think so. Knowing andrettis big mouth, he would have probably said so long ago. Makes me wonder, could this be the reason the F1 bosses didn't let Andretti in? They do have more insider information on the motorsport world. They probably knew andretti wasn't stable to begin with.
Nah, F1 has many very rich folks with the coin to do multiple things at once.
It's 2 million in cash and 7 million in services going to Andretti Global
Potentially, I'm sure in business to business sponsorship deals where the sponsor actually provides goods and services to a team e.g. McLaren F1 are sponsored by DeWalt who provide wheel guns etc. the deals are probably structured like that primarily for tax reasons.
WAT?! the hell going on?!
