No one controls FOX. Rupert Murdoch and his family control everything under their banner and they will find a way to skew and ruin this. They will lobby for more races, which will over-saturate the market, increase costs- and that will be passed on to the ticket buyers and consumers in general. Being the biggest does not mean you offer the Best. FOX destroyed NASCAR; made it a sh!t show. Gonna happen to IndyCar in their hands too. This is a terrible move in the wrong direction for the long term of IndyCar.

NASCAR, CART/ChampCar, ALMS, Le Mans, Rolex Grand Am Series, plus other content like The SPEED Report, Windtunnel etc. all promoting all different forms of racing. Having IndyCar on FOX next year has that possible hope of them being the "Motorsports Authority" once again. However, I know streaming services is the way of the future in Sports broadcasting. Peacock definitely wasn't optimum streaming, and streaming is not the path to growth necessarily ...but streaming is faaaaantastic for people who already know about the sport. No need to worry about setting a DVR for the right channel or hoping that the DVR follows long enough if there is a delay. Streaming also guarantees that the network or local affiliate can't trump coverage of the start or finish because of other properties or priorities on the channel. Hopefully they find a way to figure this out without sacrificing anything that's good about this deal. ...still wish Indycar would just invest in streaming on their own by way of a series-specific app like F1 has. To your point in the previous video, they already own the production company that does most of the work... and it's potentially some extra income for the series.

@@StinkyCheeseYodeleruntil the streaming bubble eventually bursts. Cause the services will keep raising their rates. And eventually people will get tired of needing multiple services for all the content they desire. On top of needing an ISP which averages $100-$150 a month. NFL fans now need 7 different services for all the NFL coverage. Plus services for non NFL stuff like Disney+ and MAX. I don't know anyone who is willing to pay for 9 different streaming services and an ISP on top of it all. I mean piracy is already starting to make a comeback due to rate hikes and needing of multiple different services. I've even heard people say they're going back to physical media. Cable, satellite and antenna tv will always be around. In fact, according to federal law, all major networks such as ABC, CBS, FOX all have to transmit free over the air signals that can be received by an antenna.

The whole schedule being on network TV is a good thing. As for the schedule itself, I wish they could finally get away from that six-month off-season. The series wraps up in August, while every other major racing series goes on another two or three months. That's been one of the problems over the past I-don't-remember-how-many years. Yes, the NFL is the elephant in the room, but if your season is already over, the casual fan is gonna forget about you. Then you have to start from scratch again the next year. If there's anything positive about that, maybe Fox will promote the IndyCar series throughout the NFL season. But I REALLY wish the series would run until at least the middle of October.

    - avoid the North/South American F1 weekends, and stop putting Long Beach against the Masters which is more viewed than any race
    - avoid the domestic endurance races and Le Mans which drops Sebring and Le Mans weekend (same weekend as Canadian GP)
    - schedule ovals any weekend NASCAR is on a road course

And, when all the DTS-driven new racing fans in America sample IndyCar and realize, race-over-race, it's a far better, more competitive and compelling series, a new generation of fans will be created. On the topic of the month of May, realistically in the modern day I don't think it's plausible to have two whole weeks of time trials unfortunately. Indy GP exists as a good excuse to stay at the track for most of the month. But if we're doing the on track idea for the entire month, what about instead of moving the Indy GP up to Week 1, how about they race at Lucas Oil? Stays close to the track, and sorta makes it where you have a build up to the race, where you got a short track, a road course, then the big superspeedway, while keeping it all in Speedway, Indiana. That seems like a modern solution to justify the entire month of May being at Indy to me.

I'm also not going to pay $50+ a month to watch Indycar on a paywalled streaming service. I hope that one day (if the TV deal becomes less favorable) Indycar would consider moving away from traditional TV networks and possibly stream the races live. Maybe for free with Ads and have a paywalled Ad-free service. Streaming races for free would not only bring in a lot more viewership, but also a lot more younger viewers. With Indycar heading to FOX, it does ponder what's going to happen with NBC going into the future. They'll have spare budget to use on their other prospects. One that comes to mind is IMSA because while not having been announced yet, it's likely NBC will renew their contract with IMSA after this season ends. If they renew, NBC could put more races on network TV instead of cable. Also, will there be more promotion of the races as there hardly is any promotion for IMSA races ATM. However, this does bring a big question: Is NBC going to turn their IMSA coverage into hyping up the NASCAR coverage when the NBC portion of the cup series starts in August next year? Plus, what's going to happen with the current on air talent as most of the staff (Pit reporters and commentators) aren't experts in sports car racing? Yes, NBC streams the races on peacock and uses imsa radio for some of the support series, but they geoblock all of the Pilot Challenge and WeatherTech races imsa live streams on their TH-cam channel. Plus, they don't show practice and only show qualifying outside of the races. Big questions need to be addressed should NBC renew their IMSA TV deal

IndyCar needs a longer season and should have its season just as long as F1 and if they were smart they race on the weekends that F1 is off (with the exception of Indy 500/Memorial Day weekend). In my opinion you’d get some F1 viewers on the weekends you don’t get to watch an open wheel race. On a side note, would love to see IndyCar run more ovals but wouldn’t mind them running the Charlotte Roval

you can't have a long season as long as NFL dominates everything from August and Onwards, and drains the life of everything like Soccer

    • @MendocinoRefuseTrucks
      @MendocinoRefuseTrucks 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@Bitterman5868 you have a longer season by having more races within the actual season time frame. There’s only 1 race in April, missed opportunity there. IndyCar also needs to promote more outside the Indy 500, that’s why NASCAR doesn’t have a huge issue with there season mixing with the NFL a little. I have a hard time finding commercials for IndyCar when casually watching anything, but even during the Super Bowl you’ll see a Daytona 500 commercial on at least three times, and in the early part of football season you’ll see commercials about the playoffs and championship for NASCAR. It all goes hand in hand

At leasr all of races will be on Fox hopefully they'll do better then NASCAR. Yes they'll still have Cup Trucks and ARCA next year as well but most would be on FS1.

I would like to see them get an international guy to do the broadcasts. Indy is such an international series these days and the broadcasters need to have a working knowledge base of global Motorsport. We don’t need people having no idea who or what SVG is and how to say his name when he’s charging through the field in his first race that they’ve seen of him.

Feels like good news, feels too good to be true as well.
In the short run, if IndyCar uses this for good growth, I think they'll be okay. If it doesn't hit off the bat, I worry about races getting dropped a couple of years in.
Look forward to seeing what this looks like. As long as IMS Productions is involved, it won't be an utter shitshow as far as quality goes.

Might be good for Indycar but bad for many fans who can't afford FS1 but USA is included in many basic networks.

I will miss Peacock for offering both Indy and IMSA for $5.99
But I agree indy needs more coverage and Fox sports usually does a good job at getting the viewers involved. I remember foxsports had a killer info graphic on how downforce works on nascar. The animations were perfect

As a Phoenician I would love to see them back again. But the marketing was horrible in 2018. Indycar needs sponsors that everyone knows. Even if not using the products.
Back in the day we had Bud, Coors, Miller, Marlboro sponsors. You couldn't walk into any type of grocery outlet without seeing some advertising connected to the up coming race. Whether it was a major grocery store, or a Mom & Pop convenience store, you were hit with Indycar (Champ Car, CART) propaganda. Goodyear and Firestone would have signs out by the road.
I don't know what NTT or Gainbridge Group 1001 is outside of a sponsor. Are they promoting the sport, or just supporting it??
Red Roof Inns, STP, Valvoline, K-Mart, Target, Energizer, Izod, Dirt Devil, sponsors are needed that everyone knows.
Hopefully this deal with Fox will bring more of them on.

I do wonder how much input fox has on the dates and such for 2025 when we are only 5 months from 2025 at this point, I think the main thing they control for this schedule is the start times for tv windows. I think 2026 is rumored to have some changes and I think that includes a new street race in Denver, DFW, or SLC. I dont think they will ever race in September and I dont think they should go up against the nfl. I wouldn't mind the long winter break if the season didnt have tons of breaks at the beginning before the 500. Thats where they can add races, but that also makes it difficult because early in the year, track locations and options are severely limited
