You can get a good idea if your timing key is off before removing the flywheel nut to quick diagnose a misfire or no start on a Briggs Quantum. Enjoy and subscribe for more tips.
@@berardia4 you mean it points to holes where the puller is installed? I used a puller on mine, but I had to use a selfthreading screw, because the holes were not threaded for the tool.Which I thought is so inconsiderate of briggs/stratton.
@@berardia4 I already subscribed I usually do. And I checked all those things that you mentioned and it does not make any sense as to what I could be missing, it obviously has to be something wrong
@@berardia4 I think that the best way is to use a puller; banging on the crankshaft could do damage; if it was a car, you certainly wouldn't hammer on the crankshaft , because the vibration could go all the way to the transmission or damage the bearings/journals.
Great info.. thanks

Good one mate
So how did you actually fix the problem, you forgot to show that part 😮
@@RafaelReynoso-oy1zy remove and replace flywheel key. Other videos show how to do that.
Seems to a weakness on this engines?

@@carlodonnell146 no the holes are not pre-threaded.
@@berardia4 so how can anyone use a tool then? talking about it now it occurred to me that the self threaded screw could have cracked the magneto.
you have to tap the holes@@carlodonnell146
the flywheel key on mine is not sheared ot it doesn't look sheared, but is still a no-spark.
No spark could be a bad plug, magneto, kill switch not opening, or just need to clean and reinstall the magneto.

Check out my video on kill switch make sure it is not that otherwise it must be the plug or magneto.
@@berardia4 ok thanks!
How do you get flywheel off to realign?
I didn't show that for liability reasons but there are other videos out there.
1) Use a prybar and a hammer.
2) If you need to, they sell pullers.
3) A mower shop might help and buy the key there.
4) Watch TARYL
@@dannylinc6247 Thanks it’s off.
