for a giggle, imagine a light hearted, DF based slice of life comedy anime, with the usual, gory every day insanity of a "well managed" fortress going on.

With all the right tools, people to work with and time at hand, he can spin a colorful but perturbed story from thin air. What's even better is how he pays special attention to detail when it comes to writing out his characters with such disturbing charm, something a dwarf or two can easily have from living in such a fucked up fortress.

I remember reading the original green text of this one. Was really itching for dwarf fortress but can't be bothered to actually learn the game, so ill be perusing this playlist.

There is literally no other game like DF.
I skipped through a lot of this, but I managed to see the vampire part, which I found hilarious. The crap that happens in this game is just incredible.
I did a similar thing once. when the update that allowed you to invade other sites came out, the first thing that i intended to do was to constantly invade the nearby necromancer towers, and steal as many books as possible. I put them all in my public library, which was next to the worship hall, and the artifact museum. slowly 1 by 1 everyone began to turn into necromancers. I must have had 10 or so of them at this point, but this was a 200 dwarf fort, a lot of time had passed, and there were a lot of fucking dead things strewn about. the resulting chaos and confusion left many, many dwarves and adventurers dead, strangled by severed arms and cocks. I abandoned the fortress in shame, I couldn't bare to see what I had done to my fortress that I had like 30 damn hours in. I look back on it fondly now but then it wasn't so funny. remember kids;

Bravo mate. The way you tell these stories combined with exceptional art stills lends the whole thing a picture-book quality. Would love more DF of course, but the 2fort one gave me a laugh.

It sounds like you didnt have enough !FUN! in this fort. Crazed necromancers, ghosts, vampires and demons are fine and all but its not a true fortress till something catches on fire.

Amazing quality and a great story. Stories like these keep me motivated when pushing uphill in dwarf fortress.
It's the "I consider this Fort to be a resounding success" that gets me.
This makes me wish that I could figure out how to play Dwarf Fortress. Last time I tried, I found it incomprehensible.
I can advise you to go on Dastactic channel, he made 70 episode tutorial, indepth and easy to understand... It helped me to learn!

just have to be patient and have the wiki on hand.
Or just figure out how to do things one by one, first time i tried to play df i got bored after hours of tutorial, next time i just started exploring the menu and see what could i do
Also watched a gameplay (not a tutorial) to have a better understanding (i recomend vinesauce joel) and googled things a lot

I wish the original creator of the story would go back with an adventurer and dig up the 3 immortals. Imagine the chaos that would ensue as a hapless adventurer unleashes 3 insane evils into the world, as they reanimate the rotting corpses of the abandoned fortress and wage war against the demons that destroyed them.

Tfw clowns overran my last fort and I stationed my full legendary army in a choke point hallway and they all got fucking gutted alive and my entire fort and surroundings got bathed in fire. The only thing that survived was 6 dwarves who barricaded themselves in the main hall, most were kids and NONE had pickaxes. They all starved to death brutally.
