    In the book, the reason why he throws her in, is because he thought she was beautiful like the flowers and that she would surely float like the rest of them.
    When she did not he didn't know what to do so he fled.
    His mind is completely inocent and he only becomes mean because he was treated that way first.
    Unlike the others to me Frankenstein is a very beautiful story. ❤
    Because he doesn't know and it's people who are the real monsters.

      💯 and I suspect that's why the book stood out and led to a film that also stood out from its contemporaries.
      This also highlights the damage censorship does when a person(s) who hides in shadow, decides what the audience can see based on their intelligence and morals meanwhile, in this case robbing us of better understanding the monsters motives.

      Fun fact: Frankenstein was not the real monster, it was the scientist's who created him. His name was Frankenstein

    Yeah, that scene was censored for decades. That is why every time I watched the film on tv I always wondered how he killed the girl that the dad was carrying her body.

      When did they start censoring it? Because I saw this scene when I was a child.

    Watched this movie for the first time finally. I didn't expect to feel so bad for the monster from the moment he became alive. Incredible story.

    Frankenstein's monster reminds me of Golem from Jewish Folklore. He always served as protector but when he gets attracted to emotional aspects of humans and even wanted to do something innocent but people gets frightened because of his monstrous stature and gets wrongly interpreted as a monster.
    I always have a soft spot for Prometheus, Medusa, Golem, Frankenstein's monster and lots of beings who got wrongly interpreted or punished from folklores and fictions... always

      Thanks for the comment @wilmoney4619
      Its only the bit after Boris looks at his hands, reaches out then throws the girl in.
      (You can see a change in film quality)

    • @wilmoney4619
      @wilmoney4619 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NatasKrad so youre saying that the monster throwing the girl in has been removed? Thats the part that Im referring to. Unless this is a recent removal? Or are you saying that the quality has been altered? This is an important scene as it shows how simple the monsters mind is. He thinks the girl should float because she is as beautiful as the flower. Her drowning is unintended and is what turns the village into a mob hunting him. I dont know why it would he censored with so much worse out there now?

    • @NatasKrad
      @NatasKrad  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wilmoney4619 I should have said historically censored.
      Since the films release this scene was cut more often than not. Today its more likely to have a restored copy.
      I agree with you about the importance of the scene and although I don't mention it the reason I uploaded this was to demonstrate the short sightedness and two dimensional thinking of many people.
      And some of them have the power to dismember and maim films more than any display of violence they think they're shielding us from.

    This is funny asf. So innocent, both of them. But hell, she killed plants, throwing them in the lake after pulling them. So Frank pulled her ass and threw her here in the lake. The irony of the story.
